In my experience, the MW has a little less mids by default and is a little thinner but can have extra sizzle the older recto can't have. If I had to pick, I would stick to the rev G since it's just so iconic, it was used on my personal favorite records and I have the ability to use other amps for cleans, crunch etc in my studio. For a regular musician looking to get "that recto sound" I would 100% vouch for the MW since it's much more versatile on top of sounding exactly like what you expect from a dual rectifier. Mesa knocked it out the park with the "Reborn" rectos
@@andrewb1667 What are your fav settings? On red channel with a Gridslammer I tend to go to 9 o Clock on mids and precence to get that old recto sound.
@@ronnymilianowicz5228 I usually don't boost, but so far my TS-9 works the best when I do. My Triple isn't "middy" like my Roadster is so it doesn't make a ton of difference running them between 7-10 o'clock for me. I mostly play a 7 string as well.
Nice comparison! Just out of curiosity, how do you set the faders on quad tracks? Roughly how many decibels are tracks 3&4 quieter than tracks 1&2? (Or do you leave it at the same level?) Is the panorama 100% L/R for all 4, or are 3&4 a bit pulled towards the center?
I typically do two hard panned tracks + two inner tracks pulled a little more to the center. The inner tracks are turned down between one to three dB depending on what my ear likes, this is highly dependant how much rig blending I do within the quad track
Just a quick listen without even looking and I can barely tell when either amp is playing. Might have to try other headphones to see if this is consistent.
Man, this is one of the best Recto tones I've ever heard. Great work \m/
Great comparison video. The multi-watt seems to cut through slightly more to my ear. Both sound great though.
I have a Multiwatt. Seems to have slightly more mids?
I changed to a 1megaohm gainpot. Very happy with that.
What do u prefer?

Sounds killer! I have a Multi Triple Rectifier and love the hell out of it.

What an awesome video and comparison. Great riffs/
Excelent comparaison !!!! What OH IRs have you used ?
Thanks, it's a custom mix I made with heavy hitters vol.1. Arguably the one must have IR pack
@@7StringsOfCharles Cool, thanks man!!!! :)
