Sticky Toffee Pudding

200g of Dates. Medjool or Deglet Nour
200ml of Boiling Water
1tsp of Baking soda
100g of butter
75g of Soft dark brown sugar
2 tbsp of treacle or molasses
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
175g of plain flour
2 tsp of Baking powder
Sauce
50g of Soft dark brown sugar
120ml of whipping cream
60g of butter
2 tbsp of golden syrup
1 tbsp of treacle or blackstrap molasses
1 tsp of vanilla extract
You can use an 8”or 9” square pan for this. The cake needs to be firm to the touch. Check the inside with a skewer or a knife.

If you can get corn syrup where you are, use that instead. 😋
@@marymurphy1393 If you can find something called light treacle it’s the same or light molasses. You could also try substituting with Agave syrup or make some golden syrup. It’s not that hard. There’s a few videos on UA-cam but I’ll see if I can do one next week 😊☘️

What missed most living here being from Glasgow Scotland was the taste and simplicity of all the wee home baker shops in the streets growing up there. I remember with love the wonderful love they had for their trade being a baker and made us poor kids feel like we could love eat and know what wonderful baking is all about.
