I knew you would start blowing up! The sudden sense of self-awareness is strange, isn't it? But the attention is well-deserved, and no matter what you upload us subscribers are happy just to hang out with you a bit.
it is so weird hahaha, i suddenly had to fight the feeling that i'm talking to a room full of people rather than thinking aloud to a camera. i appreciate the kind words man, it does make me feel more at ease about the whole situation haha.
Matt, no wonder your subscriber numbers are growing. It is because of the passionate, well thought out, and brutally honest reviews like this one! BTW, I am still reading East of Eden, 10+ pages a day is all, but still reading it every day. Thanks again for inspiring me to read this great work of americana!!
i'm so glad you're enjoying east of eden!! that's definitely gonna be on my top books of the year list haha. and thank you for such a nice comment! i'll do my best haha
I’m so happy that you’re blowing up. Your passion for reading is infectious, and has exposed me to a wider variety of literature. Thank you for all of your videos!! ❤
that makes me so happy!! so glad you're exploring new literature because of my videos, that's the whole goal in the first place. just so glad yall are here and enjoying them haha
Hi! One of those new subscribers that you were talking about, and I came across your channel while I was "working" on a poster. I found your path to re-finding your love for literature to be very relatable and similar to my own. Keep up the good work:)
that's so cool! i definitely always need a youtube video going when i'm working on figures or a poster or something hahaha. glad you're also rediscovering your love for literature ☺
this book sounds super interesting and complicated. excited to maybe get to it someday soon :) also, congratulations on the new growth! that's so exciting & rewarding!
i'm afraid i made it sound a bit more complicated than it actually is - other than some pretty wild moments it's not particularly difficult. and thank you so much! i gotta get better at organizing my thoughts like your videos
@@CallosumBooks Oh oops I misspoke - I mean to specify 'complicated' as in the complexity of the subject matter (war, individual vs. institution, etc). the book itself sounds approachable and exciting. :) and no I love the way you handle these videos, they're so relaxing and enjoyable. it does just feel like you're chatting with us. so excited to see how this continues to go for you!
@@timdemoss ahhh ok yeah definitely intricate and delicate subject matter. and man i'm so glad you enjoy the videos! definitely try to keep the videos very conversational, like i'm gushing about a book i love to someone i know, but definitely take a lot of inspiration the the personable and concise video essays out there (much like yours). thanks again for commenting!
@@CallosumBooks so I ordered this book and I just finished it tonight. and I have to say, it was incredible. thanks SO much for the recommendation! I loved the way it was written & I learned a lot that I didn't expect to learn, specifically some really interesting ideas on the importance of stories. very glad I picked it up :) thanks again!
I found you because someone suggested "Infinete Jest" to mehad not heard of it untill recently. So I may be included in your subscriber increase. Im older a social worker I am a V.N. vet. Congratulations on the new subscribers!🥳 This is another book you are recommending that is on my Summer tbr. I have been nervous about this one lol.
no need to be nervous! it reads quickly, and other than it being pretty brutal at times it's not particularly a difficult read. i hope you enjoy it!
