- Detroit: Become Human is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. The game will be released worldwide on 25 May 2018. The plot revolves around three androids: Kara, who escapes the factory she was made in to explore her newfound sentience; Connor, whose job it is to hunt down deviant androids; and Markus, who devotes himself to releasing the androids from servitude. They may survive or perish depending on dialogue choices that shape the story as customised by the player.
Detroit: Become Human is derived from Quantic Dream's 2012 tech demo Kara. Valorie Curry returns to reprise the title role. To research the setting, the developers visited Detroit, Michigan. Quantic Dream built a new engine to complement the game and cast hundreds of actors from Los Angeles, London and Paris before commencing the process of shooting and animation. The 2,000-page script took director David Cage more than two years to write. Philip Sheppard, Nima Fakhrara, and John Paesano composed the score for Kara, Connor, and Markus, respectively.

I was new to the controller, mixed with doing the no sleep marathon challenge led to me getting absolutely destroyed by him. I was pissed off at the game, at had to turn the difficulty down. (After restarting, of course.)

Robert Stryker This game was really gut-wrenching most of the time and I cringed watching the scenes with Alice and Todd. I'm not kidding when I saw Todd slap Alice I really wanted to not play this game anymore, but I keep thinking about it. That's why I hate playing certain games or watching certain movies, I get emotionally attached to the characters and even when I'm not playing/watching it I still think about them and hope that they'll have a happy ending. Wolfenstein 2 also has a lot of child abuse scenes too in the main character's flashback and there's even a part where your dad forces you to shoot your own dog! Why are so many games becoming depressing? I know that stuff like this happens in the world but it's just hard to watch because I don't want to be reminded of the problems of the world sometimes, it makes me realize what a broken world we are living in...
Brianna, we do live in a broken world and the abuse towards the Androids shows what really happened in real life with slavery, it was just a retelling of an all to familiar theme, if you are different then you are not worth it. What we as humans do not comprehend is that we, who are made in the image of a creator act worse than what we call animals. My fur baby will never stab me in the back, my parrot will always be the same and when I walk in the room he cheerfully greets me with "hello". He might not comprehend the meaning of the word but he greets me nonetheless. The human animal kills for sports, we hurt each other, we are flawed. An animal will never abort their offspring, we do and all because we look at the fetus as not a person, but they are. This is not a condemnation on abortion, it is that we as humans sometimes act worse than the species we classify as animals. Yes Brianna, we live in a messed up world but as long as there are compassionate people like you them there is hope.

Robert Stryker Yes, I agree with you. I felt almost all the androids in this game had terrible lives due to how the humans treated them, except for Connor because he was more advanced than all the other androids, but even he had to deal with unfairness, but not as much as Kara or Marcus. I related the most to Marcus, I liked the theme of trying to find out who you are and finding your identity in a world where people often follow the crowd and judge you if you're different from them. I felt like that a lot in my life, so that's why Marcus stuck out the most to me. It is sad that the world is how it is, the world always had problems, but wasn't the world a much safer place once upon a time than it was now? But while there are a lot of bad things in this world, there are also a lot more good out there too, even if it doesn't seem so. And yes, humans think non-human animals are uncivilized, but that's not true. If you observe them and how they interact in the environment, you can see that animals are actually no different from us, maybe even better because they aren't like how humans are. I think humans out to learn a lot from other creatures to be honest, and if we can pick up ways on how they care for their babies or pack/colony, I think we can be better people. Why do you think people with dogs or cats are happier than people who don't have any? Because allowing one into your life can do wonders, and you discover the greatest gift of all: unconditional love. We need to show more examples of that throughout our lives and to remember to "love thy neighbor."
And also, which Android did you relate to the most?
If we look at the plight of little Alice, she wanted to be loved but her of a father/owner made it impossible for her. Kara needed to love somebody, she yearned for it and she found herself trying to care for Alice in a way that went above and beyond and in the end Kara must make heavy choices. Marcus looked in his master as a father, providing and caring for a nice old man , but his own flesh and blood Leo couldn't be bothered. If anything the incident set Marcus free and he was truer to himself. Conner represents the young man who cared to much in a uncaring world and in the end he must make a decision for good or worse, and if he does everything right, he too will be mocked and thrown away. Either way you look at it, the game portrays injustice humanity in taking it out on something that we do not understand. Upon finishing the game, you are given a choice and that choice, I chose freedom but the game doesn't want you to be nice to these androids, after all they are just machines, or, are they? I also noticed that every unsavory character was overweight, is that a commentary on our society?

That is 1 of the few trophies I'm missing since he is needs to be alive after the "find the location of Jericho" (timed quest) in order to kill Marcus and North for that trophy and the everyone survives trophy. If you fail the timed quest, Connor doesn't get "reborn" so I'll kill Connor in every chapter after I get all the other trophies he is required in.

The Unit in this video followed it's programm to the point. At no point was the thinking anything more than robot does what robot is told. The red wall at the start is a little confusing to me. Don't forget that the factory prints it's own set of orders that overwrite the owners.

Kara does things we might call irrational (for a gynoid), but that is because she is "Becoming Human". Anyway, it is the *player* that helps push Kara beyond her original limits. She cannot grow without the player. The gameplay solidly links our willpower into Kara's character development. Fantastic game motivation!
That's the point of all the Quantic Dreams games. It's a human leading the game, therefore that human always makes the game go further into its own story. You are human, you cannot take "Androids decisions" so of course your characters will become deviant. I sure hope (other than to test the game) no one just stood there while Todd was literally killing Alice... yet, it's what "Android Kara" should have done to not be a deviant.

To be honest, not sure if she completely felt the pain or if that’s just her program, even though she is a deviant. Even deviants don’t feel pain but are urged to show it. Because she is a child model android, she is programmed to simulate such emotions, but since she is deviated, she doesn’t have to show them.
Kara's story is definitely the most intense by far my favorite
And the most difficult to play
She can die in every chapter she's in besides 4. And if the cut content from The Pirate's Cove was added back in, she would be able to survive in only 2 chapters, A New Home and Fugitives.
Guys wait what if Todd was the human doctor that didn't perform the surgery on Cole because he was getting high on red ice and lost his job because of it. He even said, "I lost my job because of androids", meaning, instead of blaming himself, he blames androids. It's shown that he took drugs waaaay before he bought Alice. This was proven when Todd was mocking his wife saying, "You should stop taking drugs Todd." Taking a closer look at him, it's shown that he's not the type of person to take the blame, but instead, blames it on others. But, I think he changed a *little* when he was going to Canada and Kara told him his story.

Dezta93 Pain is just the nervous system sending info to your brain and then it responding. How is this different than a sensor sending information to a cpu and then it responding in a similar way? There is no significant difference.
Because connor will say that android doesn't feel pain, try to hurt them just make it broken. Pain is not sending the information but the respond of the information human respond harm sensor data by pain. Data from the sensor itself is not a pain, the respon is, since there is no pain software in the android they don't know anything about pain
Was your friendship with Alice distant or trusted? I've been trying to get this ending and the window ending for ages, but every time I get the 3 choices of grab/push Todd or shield Alice I end up running to the backyard...
I think if you want to get the window ending, you have to get to Alice's room before Todd. Then lock the door and check the window.

Yeah I got this one when I played not on purpose I didn't think he'd kill Alice and Kara. But he did and I had to play the rest of the game without them . I'll be sure to keep them alive to see how the story changes
