I think it’s interesting how this entire movie is centered around people getting themselves in trouble over not wanting to be rude, when one of the scenes that has always stuck with me from “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2011) was when Daniel Craig’s character is lured into the killer’s home by the killer, after basically just confirming he’s the killer, and the killer literally tells him this is exactly how he gets all of his victims. All of the women he kills, they always know something is wrong but they still enter the house anyway, and the killer remarks how amazing it is that the need to be polite overwrites some people’s basic instinct to survive.

So if i ask a scandinavian woman to get her clothes off she will because she wants to be polite and doesn't want to hurt my feelings?Talk about pushing an idea to an impossible extreme.
I was understanding all that until the scene at the end in the car with the daughter. After they drive away Louise and Bjorn are just wailing around but I cannot imagine ANYONE not completely freaking out like I would punching, choking, kicking that woman in the backseat, grab the wheel of the driver ANYTHING. Judging by the reviews, the purpose of this remake was to give James McAvoy another shot at a fantastic psycho-villain performance, and the fact this happened in the same year M. Night released Trap (where I picked up on several Split similarities: in the background details of the Butcher, and even during certain aspects of Josh Hartnett's performance like his facial acting) is so special to me. 🖤
From your description, honestly, I'd probably watch the remake. Ever since watching SEVEN back in 90-whenever it was, I hate leaving a movie with that sick/shocked/depressed feeling. Life is fukt up as it is and will give you that feeling for real if you stick around long enough. Good stuff as always,my friend.
After going through a personal tragedy and then the following year, a hurricane, I find myself unable to watch a movie that I know is going to end horrible. Life kinda threw some really horrible fucking shit to me and if I watch a movie, I am watching it to escape, not to remind me of how horrible the world can be. I think I would rather watch the remake for that regard,
Having not seen the original and after listening to you and seeing the comments regarding the direction it takes at this point I almost don't want to (even though I would love to, does that make sense?) I was unashamedly captivated by the film and a large part of that was getting to see somewhat hopeful ending after everything they, and by extension the audience, had experienced. It was very cathartic.
I discovered your channel a few months ago, and I really enjoy seeing how genuinely excited you are about horror cinema. Your takes are also very interesting, but what I appreciate most is your down-to-earth and friendly attitude. I watch a lot of movie deep dives and video analyses from other channels, too, but some of them can come off like they know it all or take themselves too seriously. I don't know-maybe it's just that when you're chronically online, you get tired of hearing people talk like they're experts all the time. That's why it's refreshing to see creators who don't take themselves too seriously. Another creator who manages to do that, in my opinion, is Ryan Hollinger.
I saw this in theaters and it was great! The moral of the story is to stand up for yourself. The main character even says this at the end of the movie, so you know, pretty clear messaging 😂 James McAvoy absolutely nailed it as the main villain.
Original movie message was “ Wokeness makes people lose their instinct of survival “. If you notice dad was a beta male. Mom was a feminist, vegetarian, Alfa female who believes in climate change for convenience.
Here in Italy it's called 'Speak No Evil - Non Parlare Con Gli Sconosciuti' (Speak No Evil - Don't Talk To Strangers'. Interesting... And also quite odd.
This movie just feels like a shell of the original that is afraid to offend or make the audience uncomfortable. The original is a fine movie, not legendary or anything, but it accomplishes what it sets out to do and drive the message home to the audience. I've seen a lot of comments mentioning how they hope the ending is different and the original was so frustrating - but that feels like entirely the point. Not arguing that you have to love it or find it enjoyable, but changing art to be more comfortable seems lazy and why we get so many watered down remakes now a days
When I first heard about this remake I, too, was baffled. The original was already mostly in English so you couldn't even latch onto the "people are too lazy to read subtitles" excuse. Then I saw the trailer and was even MORE baffled because it seemed to be doing the same thing beat for beat but with a much more IN YOUR FACE tone. I still am kind of baffled by the existence of this remake but I've heard enough good things about it at this point that I am willing to check it out eventually.
You are very kind. I was infuriated. If I wanted a movie that was "good fun" I wouldn't go anywhere near a movie that held this title. Blumhouse is utter and complete trash.
The remake was so cliche it was hilarious in the worst way possible From a close up on a closet as the antagonist walks towards it to only reveal it was a different closet, to shooting the protagonist only for it to be a mirror, to someone almost falling off the roof and a shingle breaking on the ground below to show how high they are, to the antagonist pointing a gun with an evil look for 20 seconds long enough for the protagonist to get the upper hand. And these tropes that we’ve seen hundreds of times all happened in a 5 minute span. Very disappointed the original was a super unique cautionary tale and this was just a generic thriller
Blumhouse always destroy the word 'horror'. MEGAN, Five Night at Freddy's, this one. I'm starting to see a pattern. The children always deliver the final blow. 😂
Yeah, it's specially bizarre here in Mexico how many billboards and posters in the streets there are, and there have been popping out for months now. And also that they're doing different versions. Not even Marvel movies get that much publicity here
European actors, directors and scriptwriters know how to be subtle while American remakes are usually more "on the nose" or "in your face" as if they do not trust their audience to make their own decisions in perception without being helped. Also they usually tend to not escaping their being "Hollywood" even when they try to be "edgy". Another example in this case is the difference between the original Funny Games and Funny Games US, although I must say I enjoyed that remake just because of Michael Pitt who was a good cast for the role and I do love Tim Roth in a movie (I have erased the memory of him being in "Hulk" though), so I'm a bit biased by default on that one. As for this remake I might have enjoyed it if I hadn't watched the original but having already been presented with its main point and all the intrucacies and subtleness during its entirety this one was just disappointingly boring and it was exactly the direction I expected to be going.
Honestly just like the fact there's a different ending. While I understood the point of the original ending, I just found it increasingly frustrating how the family keeps screwing themselves over. Yeah, the killers target milquetoast families, but come on, at that point, common sense would dictate that they should get out and never look back. It isn't even that I dislike bleak endings. If done right, there are some impactful ones like my favorite film When the Wind Blows. But with the original SNE, it just felt like one, ceaseless bit that ends in the way that you expect it to where I felt it was dragging its feet. And I just felt it was bleak just for the sake of it rather than being something that thematically makes sense.
Yeah, definitely hoping that they change around the ending too! Have heard a lot of people talk about how the original movie frustrated them a lot, so an updated ending would probably help it more!
I thought i was going crazy! I was so sure id seen the original a while back but had fuzzy memories. Then i started seeing the trailers for this and was genuinely so confused haha
At this point, is anyone really surprised that James McAvoy elevates a 'meh' movie into being some good just from his performance alone? He's honestly one of my personal favourite actors at the moment.
I just watched the original last night, and the movie was so good, but like you I may never watch it again. It's still living in my brain so I'm excited to see your take on it. The only reason I wanted to watch the remake is that I know James McAvoy can bring it (Split is my favourite performance of his). I may not go to the theatre to watch it, but I'm certainly going to look for it once it's up to watch at home.
Im going this movie too much credit and maybe someones already said this but. "Why did they make this movie?" Because we let them. We've always had, thry know they can keep getting away with things and so they keep pushing onwards.
I think what the director was trying to do would have work better if the second half worked as a revenge thriller, rather than the family just defending itself. It would keep a dark tone (even if it's still not as unsettling as the original), but would please the crowd. It would also get a "when passive people have enough and lash out" vibe. BTW, the director of this remake is the director of Eden Lake, which the director at the original cites as an inspiration. I think the director of the remake should have taken Michael Fassbender again. He would bring the same subtlety and nuance to Paddy that the original Patrick had. James McAvoy's performance was ace tho.
I’m sorry but like, there’s no way I can support this movie. I love James but no This movie didn’t need a remake The amount they spoiled in the trailer is garbage and the fact they changed the ending to me ruins the point of this film. No purpose, no love So happy to never see this trailer again in theaters
I’m a HUGE movie enthusiast especially horror movies, aspiring business owner and actress. I’ve already watched 37 new releases this year in the movie theater this year including Speak No Evil. I enjoyed it more than a thought I would as well. It’s now in my top five favorite movies of the year thus far along with Dune 2, Alien:Romulus, Blink Twice and Strange Darling. ❤❤❤❤
The point of making it for American audiences wasn't so much from what I understood the language part, but the fact about changing some main parts about the story, namely the ending. There needed to be more of a "good" ending. This remake was, by the end of it all mainly about money. Original isn't always better, but it does captivate not just, as you said, a culture that's overly polite and suchlike, but in general how a lot (A LOT) of people just let things go too far. And that, which was also one of the main points of the original, not everything has a happy ending. Life sometimes just sucks and bad stuff happens.
Blumhouse PR: The Wolf Man trailer was a 50% success rate, people are tearing apart the HHN costume, Afraid was laughable; we need a big fucking distraction. Peon: *Put Xavier in the front again.*
Blumhouse make excellent films and so do Buried Hatchet Productions. The thing about films like this one is, its hard to make them. If you know your story is good do not tell everyone it is right away. Let the readers decide for themselves.
Care to source where he said it's an "anti-woke" movie....? His description of the movie's themes has always been that it's a commentary on Dutch and Danish culture and the differences between what's seen a more submissive and a more aggressive culture generally. It's about people being unwilling to enforce their own boundaries
I definitely think this story in general isn’t really supposed to be taken at face value and is definitely trying to get a rise out of the audience with its themes. It’s more of a metaphorical movie rather than a straight forward story
Although I like McAvoy too I don't see the point in this movie either, the original Danish movie is fine. I enjoyed it but it's a movie that, imo, you have to watch as a kind of Grimm Fairytale because any sense that it's taking place in the real world and the movie starts to fall apart quite badly. As a moral lesson/allegory it works well though and obviously the Danish social commentary is more of an existential extremity rather than a true reflection, so yeah, imo as a fairytale it works, as a 'irl' horror/thriller is doesn't quite work. I'll probably watch the remake at some point but I expect, as is usually the case, the original is a better time.
Oddly enough I've seen way more people talk about how often they've seen the trailer than I've actually seen the trailer. I've only seen it twice and both times I purposefully sought it out. lol
I can understand changing the ending to a more nicer one, or changing the character to be more aware of the situation, it could make the movie more interesting. But changing the tone into an upbeat thriller, a complete backflip from what the movie is supposed to be, it strip away the uniqueness of the story and erase it's point. Not just that they also shoved everything down your throat, have no trust with the audience, even though the point had already been shown. As upsetting as the original Movie was, to me it offer some experience to have, it didn't shove anything down your throat, it let you had the moment and taste everything. this is not just a pointless remake but also had a pointless story, I don't know which is worse, seeing another like IMAGINARY or this kind of movie. If they want to do a remake, the good thing to do is fixing the original movie problem, which the original of this movie had with the characters.
I totally understand their take in this remake, and I understand the original and what point it was trying to make... yet I still didn't like it 😅 and I'm unsure if I'll wanna watch the remake... maybe when it's available for streaming 🤔
I love that you said this! I thought of this movie. I saw the Keifer one originally, and liked it. I was young and didn’t ask much of movies. Years later I found the original, then read the book, and I was blown away. The difference is stark. Similar to Picnic at Hanging Rock. You just can’t replace the original for setting the perfect creepy, dismal tone.
You keep saying slap in the face as meaning jarring, but I'm associating it with insulting, so I'm like WHAT, then realize what you mean, lol. I'm glad they didn't pull all the teeth out of the story. There's things I like about each of these more. I wish A.I. was advanced enough I could type in what I preferred from each film & watch them as one. I avoid all trailers & everything for anything I watch, so when I was watching the original in preparation for this, I was imagining McAvoy as the other guy for whatever reason. SPOILER The last scene was "Immaculate"😉
I enjoy the original but yeah that ending is infuriating. "Oh no, I was punched in the stomach. Guess Ill just sit here and let everything happen now".
If they thought it was bad. Theyd not have spent more money to promote it. Its usually not how it works. I say this as one who works in the industry. Specifically distribution and marketing.
So odd I watched the original like two years ago 😂 and then saw this trailer and I was like wait I’ve seen this movie already 😂 it was really good too ❤
I'm a Dane and the Danish version is soooo cringe I can't get through it, but I'm going to watch remake in 2 hours. "Put the bunny back in the box" quote Cameron Poe
0:32 i had absolutely no idea about it until they did the remake and i truly enjoyed it. i do believe it was because of the main actor and my love for him as an actor. i watched you’re other video on this movie thinking it was about this version and had to stop it towards the ending because i knew one ending and you were telling a different one i wasn’t ready for lol. it’s v similar up until then in my opinion so im interested to see how you’re going to like it lol, i’ll be goin back to see the other ending after i finish this one to compare your reactions and thoughts.
did not like the original(not a fan of those kind of depressing(everyone dies villain wins)movies) really liked the remake(because of the actors and the reasons he pointed out)
I hate that they would remake it in the first place but I gave it a chance. What a poor decision that was. It doesn't matter how good McAvoy is in the role: he can't save this movie from itself. This remade ending actually infuriated me. Blumhouse puts out garbage once again.
So I watched the trailer of the remake last week, when I saw Longlegs which disappointed me, and felt very drawn to it. Then I found out it was a remake and found the original. I think I am going to stay with the super messed up one and skip the remake.
I guess a haphazard remake with a crayon scripted ending is better than most of the crap they have recently put out. Hopefully James McAvoy gets better horror movies than he recently has been in. Dude is a great actor.
Saw this last night. It was just ok. Its been done before. They lost me when they turned around because their daughter left her "hoppy" at the house and HAD to have it. 12 years old and she's still got a binky? Oh come on. These people are dangerous. My only thought would be to get my family out of there. My kid would have to get over it.
Wife and I turned off the original about an hour in. So unbelievable. Dude had their kid in their bed while he was naked. We would've left as soon as we saw where we were sleeping lol
I'll tell you what, Evan, it sounds to me like you may have forced yourself to like this. Your review is great, as usual and i'm not trying to analyse it, but i will not see this movie. Your description of how you felt after seeing the original is how i felt after i saw Funny Games. I felt sick, i was infuriated, i wanted to tear my seat up and throw it at the screen. Did this guy by any chance do Funny Games? That director said he wanted that kind of reaction. I could be wrong but have the feeling this could make me feel the same way. So, I'll pass. Your review saved me a trip to the pych ward, haha. Hope this thing with Oculus gets settled.
Why would I force myself to like it? I went in expecting something completely mediocre and wound up just having a fun enough time. Also no, not the same but as Funny Game but same vein for sure. I appreciate the kind words!
Exactly the same thing but less subtle describes so many remakes unfortunately. Or they try to change a detail just so it’s not completely the same and it ends up changing the fundamental message of the original movie. 😂
Please give spoilers! I need to know what’s actually worth seeing cuz I feel exactly the way you do about the original. Everything you said was my experience.
The American remake of Speak No Evil didn't share the impact of the original because it didn't have nearly the same cultural relevance to the real world culture being depicted. Unfortunately, a discussion/critique of this would require delving into socio-political perspectives, which would absolutely devolve into tribalistic screeching on all sides. Leaving the remake's protagonists exactly the same, as assumedly progressive yuppies, it really doesn't make sense that they would be drawn in by Patrick. He's clearly supposed to depict a more traditionally masculine man, which is supposed to inversely reflect the emasculated Ben. However, any American could tell you that they wouldn't want anything to do with someone giving off "traditional" vibes in reality; in fact, they'd be quite put off by it. I might get flamed for this, but it would actually make more sense for Patrick to have been a minority. It would have been far more culturally relevant that a progressive American couple would feel it to be inappropriate to make any judgement of a POC.
SPOILER!! Yep, they forsook the depth and thought-provoking quality of the original for crowd-pleasing cathartic satisfaction and fun!! Obviously a good strategy for making money too!!!
Hey, Evan... did you watch "I See You" (2019) with Helen Hunt? It's a great thriller with a cool twist. I would really like to hear your thoughts on it.
no matter what you think of the changes i think it's largely a good thing they made a distinctly different movie than the original. if you're going to remake something, i will always respect putting your own spin on it more than a by the numbers remake, and if you didn't like the new one the original will always be there
I personally hated this movie, it feels like none of this movie would've happened if the characters had any semblance of common sense and self preservation. The daughter character pissed me off beyond belief, granted I'm not a parent but if it comes down to it my daughter is having a panic attack, *minor spoiler* I'm not turning the car around for a fucking stuffed animal.
Exactly! This movie is everything wrong about society, bratty kids get what they want or they play the "mental illness" game. The parents have no survival skills or common sense. You see your daughter in their bed and you head back and be buddy buddy. It's literally society in a nutshell. Parents hand children off to teachers and teachers teach them stuff they shouldn't be learning. The patriarch having a break down when the matriarch is the strong one who though her having extramarital activities is normal behavior. Like I said, it's society in a nutshell.
Midway through the review one thing I will remind you of his not many people saw the other version so The frustration you had it’s not the frustration 90% of people going to this movie are gonna have
I started watching the original movie but paused to check out the "remake" just for James McAvoy. I ended up watching the entire remake before completing the original. I'm glad I did it this way so no one can claim I'm biased. However, when the remake's ending unfolded, I immediately sensed something was off. Since when did a horror movie with an underlying sense of "something isn't right" morph into a cliché action flick with a "we need a hero" ending ? This remake was unnecessary and a waste.
The first movie was the bleakest cinema I have seen in a LONG time. It broke my heart as a mom. I love James M as well, but I don’t know if I will be watching this. I don’t think it needed a remake, but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised. I did leave the first one thinking, what kind of parents are that passive in reguards to their kid?
The original is a classic for me. Definitely a film u talk about afterwards with ur friends. This remake sounds like a generic thriller with an excellent cast. James mcavoy to the rescue again!
Im sorry but I feel the Hollywood remakes of recent films are a bit insulting to the originals, this remake is only a handfull of years after the original danish one. Just my 2 cents
The original was specifically bad with the characters making the worst possible decisions, why would they keep the same quality of decisions in the remake - you simply cannot sympathise with the parents because of this Edit: just heard your point on the danish people, that's kinda made me forgive it now, cheers!
Yeah... My man James was great as usual but the whole point of the original was lost in this one and i'm so sick and tired of doing remake of something that is pretty much exactly the same expect in the parts that actually make it unique.
As always Hollywood can’t create, only imitate. This movie is what you get when you combine a derivative copy with the pathetic trend of putting a girl boss chick in it and make it lame. Another example of a good foreign movie being turned into a processed, dumbed down, happy movie to appease American audience who can’t be confronted with their own nihilism. The message behind the original film was lost. Wasted movie.
Yes! I thought the same thing. So creepy.
Yes, social scripts get imprinted on people through development.
Good answer, and unfortunately, in some circumstances, true.
They could remake every film for the sole purpose of casting James mcvory as the lead and that will get me into the cinema 😂😅 I just love him
well that's a lame childish way to view art, no offense

I think I would rather watch the remake for that regard,
I could go my whole life and not see the trailer again... hope the film is actually good.
I guess I appreciate that Ant actually warned the family of the impending doom and not let them just fall victim
The American Version = Speak No Evil LITE lol
Just watched this yesterday, I thought it was pretty solid. I still need to see the original though.
Love the video man! I must say I value your opinion very highly and am always keen to watch what's on topic next.
I haven't seen either of these but it sounds like I'd be better off searching out the original for now.
I saw this and Alien Romulus at AMC today and o was literally the only person in the audience for both 🙈
Having not seen the original and after listening to you and seeing the comments regarding the direction it takes at this point I almost don't want to (even though I would love to, does that make sense?)
I was unashamedly captivated by the film and a large part of that was getting to see somewhat hopeful ending after everything they, and by extension the audience, had experienced. It was very cathartic.
Yay, 40K subs!!! Looking forward to see this movie with tempered expectations and just maybe enjoying James McAvoy's overall performance.
Hey just wanted to say I found your channel a bit ago and its been great so far keep up the good work!
@@MariaRodriguez-hb4ixur like 7. You can’t even spell alpha right.
Congrats on 40k Evan❤❤ totally deserved!
Also since we don't have that expression in spanish, here it's called Don't Talk to Strangers
Great review! Just so you know bte...'Aisling' is an Irish name and is pronounced as *Ashleen* 😉
If they remake “When Evil Lurks” … i will riot
I liked the original speak no evil more than when evil lurks, but yeah I agree there's no need to do that at all lmao
That film was awful, but the seeming dearth of ideas in Hollywood means you will almost definitely see a remake.
Atleast that ones actually in a different language tho so there’s kind of a reason many people won’t read a movie, literally no reason here lmao
The remake was so cliche it was hilarious in the worst way possible
From a close up on a closet as the antagonist walks towards it to only reveal it was a different closet,
to shooting the protagonist only for it to be a mirror,
to someone almost falling off the roof and a shingle breaking on the ground below to show how high they are,
to the antagonist pointing a gun with an evil look for 20 seconds long enough for the protagonist to get the upper hand.
Not even Marvel movies get that much publicity here
Art the clown has a COD skin now
European actors, directors and scriptwriters know how to be subtle while American remakes are usually more "on the nose" or "in your face" as if they do not trust their audience to make their own decisions in perception without being helped.
Original was an anti-WOKE movie. Hollywood had to change that message for a more WOKE one . Where the Alfa female and kids won.

Strange Darling. Strange Darling. Strange Darling. 😂
Great video Evan.
Don’t you mean, straight danger.
I’m sorry but like, there’s no way I can support this movie. I love James but no
This movie didn’t need a remake
The amount they spoiled in the trailer is garbage and the fact they changed the ending to me ruins the point of this film.
No purpose, no love
So happy to never see this trailer again in theaters
Hard Agree.
there is no marketing bc it's a movie already made.
I was surprised to see any scenery left by the end with all the chewing James McAvoy did
Blumhouse PR: The Wolf Man trailer was a 50% success rate, people are tearing apart the HHN costume, Afraid was laughable; we need a big fucking distraction.
Peon: *Put Xavier in the front again.*
Congratulations 🎊 👏
Just like how they did Funny Games if you remember that
That was a little different because it was the same director
@@RocklinGraves oh yeah it was wasn’t it? 🤔
Also, I just watched a movie called Malum 2023, which was a same-director remake of 2015's Last Shift. Has anyone seen or know of those?
I found both versions of Funny Games on UA-cam...
I had posted the links, but my comment disappeared. Anyway if you search for them, they are up.
Funny games was fucking terrible
At least it’s not another Imaginary
Sounds like what happened with Insomnia. The original version? Woof 😮
Blumhouse make excellent films and so do Buried Hatchet Productions. The thing about films like this one is, its hard to make them. If you know your story is good do not tell everyone it is right away. Let the readers decide for themselves.
I hope they play the trailer again at the actual movie.
The movie exists because Hollywood has run out of original ideas.
There are TONS of original movies out
Not exactly!
Original was an anti-WOKE movie. Said by the director . Hollywood had to change this message for a more conventional/ WOKE one .
Care to source where he said it's an "anti-woke" movie....? His description of the movie's themes has always been that it's a commentary on Dutch and Danish culture and the differences between what's seen a more submissive and a more aggressive culture generally. It's about people being unwilling to enforce their own boundaries
The film is phenomenal
I'll probably watch the remake at some point but I expect, as is usually the case, the original is a better time.
original was great, I don't even want to see the new one :c
Like the end of THE DISAPPEARED (?) dutch film remade with Keifer Sutherland?
SPOILER
The last scene was "Immaculate"😉
I enjoy the original but yeah that ending is infuriating. "Oh no, I was punched in the stomach. Guess Ill just sit here and let everything happen now".
If they thought it was bad. Theyd not have spent more money to promote it. Its usually not how it works. I say this as one who works in the industry. Specifically distribution and marketing.
The damn bunny. WTF, all because of the spoiled little girl and her bunny.
I thought it was fine, until the third act
did not like the original(not a fan of those kind of depressing(everyone dies villain wins)movies)
really liked the remake(because of the actors and the reasons he pointed out)
also tbf i dont remember anything about the original since it came out besides not liking it
BRO you look exactly like shane gillis
I hate that they would remake it in the first place but I gave it a chance. What a poor decision that was. It doesn't matter how good McAvoy is in the role: he can't save this movie from itself. This remade ending actually infuriated me. Blumhouse puts out garbage once again.
Dogshit take. You just like to hate shit because you think it's cool
So I watched the trailer of the remake last week, when I saw Longlegs which disappointed me, and felt very drawn to it. Then I found out it was a remake and found the original. I think I am going to stay with the super messed up one and skip the remake.
Unless you want to feel disappointed and infuriated, I'd stick with skipping this "remake".
Midway through the review one thing I will remind you of his not many people saw the other version so
The frustration you had it’s not the frustration 90% of people going to this movie are gonna have
Yeah I know, but for those who DID see the original that frustration will be there. I can only give the review from the perspective I have
I started watching the original movie but paused to check out the "remake" just for James McAvoy. This remake was unnecessary and a waste.
wait... aren't you the kid from that "I see dead people" movie? what was it called again? "the town"
I heard Christian Tafdrup hates it.
The original is a classic for me. Definitely a film u talk about afterwards with ur friends. This remake sounds like a generic thriller with an excellent cast. James mcavoy to the rescue again!
Ever heard of the 2022 horror movie Good Boy?
Im sorry but I feel the Hollywood remakes of recent films are a bit insulting to the originals, this remake is only a handfull of years after the original danish one.
Just my 2 cents
The original was specifically bad with the characters making the worst possible decisions, why would they keep the same quality of decisions in the remake - you simply cannot sympathise with the parents because of this
Edit: just heard your point on the danish people, that's kinda made me forgive it now, cheers!
McAvoy is a rich man’s Gerard Butler.
I really hated the original movie so I'm not shocked this one isn't very good.
New one is great.
@@Biggiecheeseness I saw, liked it a lot more mainly because they changed the entire 3rd act and didn't make it depressing as hell.
Looks like standard Outhouse crap to me. The trailer looks like they neutered the original into generic horror, which tries to be as safe as possible.
First
