      “ indubitably”.. 👍🏽🤠 God bless live well and be safe..! I’m with you 100% I was actually rolling it to the side! Actually going in a 3/4 circle! I’ve got it pretty good I get it where I want it but I’ll be darned if I knew it was that easy and that much more accurate! Love fly fishing but you really gotta learn first! Spent my first year without a bite. I was using what looked cool. I’ve written pamphlets on bait fishing. Never used a fly! Now days those suckers have no chance! I make leather lutes I’m trying to get out to be sold too.. God bless be safe out there!

    Watch an old timer once while he was up against a bank while was roll casting. He was so good at it his loops looked like Os rolling for 40-50 ft across the water. There was no slop, or sag. Just perfect loops about 3 ft high rolling out. He was truly teaching me the master class at this.

    A cast that I thought I'd rarely if ever use. Then I became braver & started casting from between bushes or side of bridges etc. This cast allows you to reach spots that otherwise would seem next to impossible with a fly rod.
    Best to ya, All!

      @@renegadeflyfishing do you do alot of small creek fishing? If so, any tips and advice for them? I live pretty far away from good trout fishing country, so my best options near me are usually pretty narrow creeks

    • @renegadeflyfishing
      @renegadeflyfishing  Рік тому +2

      @@terrykrugii5652 Yeah I do a bit of fishing on small streams and when I do I use my 7' 3 Wt fly rod. That helps me from getting tangled as often and the rod is easier to wield in the tight spaces, and I'm usually not casting that far. Another unorthodox trick I've used it to take my leader off and tie on some tippet material directly to the end of my fly line about 3' to 4' with a blood knot. Just be careful not to trim off your fly line. Iv'e found I need to be a little more sneaky when fishing the small creeks because the fish seam to be a little more skittish. Hope that helps! Good luck!

      It can if you cast over top of them, but what you try to do is to cast a little bit up stream and then let your fly drift down with the current towards the fish. 👍🏻

      Have you tried using a single handed spey cast? It’s more dynamic. But with similar benifits of the roll cast.

    Stop doing this you lose all your energy in the big loop! When at 1 o’clock go forward horizontally as far as possible then flick forward. The goal is to use the D loop to load your rod as long as possible. The line will roll at the tip of your rod. That’s a roll cast!

    Yeah but you have to get your line all the way out there first to begin with so that means you had to have room to cast it to begin with

      No. You can do a series of progressively longer roll casts.

    Actually you shouldn’t make an arc with the rod then the line will be completely in the air

      Hi Connor, I use a 7-9’ leader and use about 18” of tippet depending on the situation.
