For what it's worth--I'm a keyboard player (most jazz and funky fusion). I've been using a Spacestation three-way boutique amp for years and loving it, but at over 40 lbs, plus the fact that I live in Central Mexico and getting them repaired is a bitch, I've decided to try a pair of the TS410s. My two keyboards are stereo and I can use them with the 410s without a submixer which pleases me conceptually, plus I can also run an announce mic into them. I use mostly acoustic piano and Rhodes/Wurly samples and a Hammond SK1 organ.
When they show up and I have a chance to test them, I'll write back but I know a few keyboardists who highly recommend these for the way I'm going to use them.
I've used my pair of Alto TS415s for more than 20 events since I bought them January of this year. Very powerful, great DSP and clip light doesn't light up easily unless you push it very very hard. This is my favorite speakers now. I just pair them with one 18" powered sub and oh boy that setup can handle up to 250 people in a huge ballroom in my opinion. Alto is now using upgraded and more reliable parts and horns on this series, unlike on the 3 series which is known for blown tweeters. Great job Alto on this one!
you're right. The Alto 3 series are useless with their crappy easy to blow tweeters.
What dj controller are you using?
Hi dear,Do you use mixer with these speakers? If yes, which model you use?I am planning to buy pair of speakers for live functions.confused between TS 12/15 and yamaha dbr12/15😊
I’ve been super impressed with my 315s. They perform very well indoors as well as outdoors. I’m very excited about the 4s. As I get older, I don’t want to transport heavy subs. Besides, I’ve seen (and heard mostly) so many DJs ruin their sound because they don’t even know how to match their tops to subs! I like the idea of being able to adjust the sound for the room. I’ll have to do a bit more homework to ensure that these are putting out better low end frequency than the 3 series for me to make the jump. RCF, EV and QSC I know would give me what I want, but why not save a few bucks if not sacrificing any noticeable quality?😊Thanks for this review!
EV is definitely nice tho, I almost bought one today, i'm still debating.
I love the TS series and have the 15 inch tops with the sub and these speakers do the job. I am a wedding dj and wanted to know if Alto will be releasing these speakers in white.
I've got the TS308's and am pretty sure that I'll add a TS408 or two, but I just can't seem to get answers as to how to connect a bluetooth signal through a TS4 series to a subwoofer, and why is the bluetooth signal not available on the xlr output?
You do a great job explaining this. I’m a total new guy to this type of thing. So I ordered a bunch of things to set up a karaoke. I bought two of these ts408, a 8ch alto mixer and two trs to xlr cables to hardwire them(is this correct?) even though they are Bluetooth I’m guessing hardwire will give better performance?
So the mixer is also Bluetooth and my tv has Bluetooth so the tv to mixer should connect via Bluetooth right? Hope this will all work. Thanks for the help of possible
Great video! I’m a big Alto Professional fan I’ve had a gang of them. I practice with TX208’s at home but would love to have the TS408’s as a Ceremony speaker for my Weddings.
I had the TS315’s until this Summer when I upgraded those to EV ELX200 18sp & (2) ELX200 12P’s as my main setup.
Definitely getting that sweet TS408!
Thanks for the kind words, DJones205! That sounds like you've had a great history with Alto Professional Speakers, and the TS408's would be a great addition to any set up!
The ELX 200 15 is better than this TS415??
How about power consumption? Are they efficient as yamaha DBR series?
Have bought 3 Alto Ts412 and all had loose screws on one handle, what could be the cause? and Have you experienced it before?
I heard the TS3 series tweeter is so bad, it breaks easily, is it difficult to repair the TS 4 series? how good is the quality improvement?
I A/B'd the TS412 with my QSC K12s and they didn't compare but for the price point. I'm super happy with them as wedges. In fact, while the QSC are better for FOH, I think the TS412s will be better stage monitors so I'm happy with the purchase.
How do you find they sit as wedges, is the angle ok or do you have to prop them somehow?
Thanks for this review... I'm going to get a pair of these strictly for wedges, because I can't justify the Qsc price for monitors....yet! Oh yeah, I'm running Turbosound iq15's for FOH, and they outpaced the K12, so I sold them!
Keep on rocking🤘😎
@gear4music
Is it possible to use
two 15’s for front of house
two 10’s for front or side fills
Two 18’s subs
How would I connect these
Do I need a audio interface?? When connecting to my laptop the song “forever” by Lil Baby sounds horrible but sounds amazing via Bluetooth. So when using the laptop and my SUB I don’t get that crisp audio quality 🤷🏽♂️
Any word on alto ts4 subs coming out soon?
Speaking of open mics, can you mute a channel using the app? This is very important when the guitarist plugs & unplugs their guitar.
The TS315 series had bad history of easily blown tweeters but I tell you I own a pair of this new TS415 series and the design is much improved. I've used them already about 10 times in small to big events since I bought them late last year. I pair them with different subwoofer sizes and easy to select at the DSP at the back. No problems at all. Very lightweight and doesn't clip easily even in very loud levels. Bluetooth is also great and sound is phenomenal.
Yup loud but not worth buying a tweeter every few months 🗑️
Ts315 trash
@@mrproblemchild88ableI haven't bought any tweeters yet for my TS4 series. And I probably play the loudest on UA-cam. 😆
@@DJBpartyTV yea I think that was an issue with the older model because of the way the had the volume to close to the mic level I have two 408 ts18s and one ts415 loud and clear
P
What if I don't need all the fancy features and I just want the active speaker with the least features, do they have a version of such?
Is the low-pitched sound on alto ts408 the as alto ts410?
Nice!!!… question, what’s the largest event you would use the ts408 for? Considering Im a Dj… and also considering combining those speakers with a sub… thx so much
About 125 max but one or two ppl may say hey turn it up lol. No matter the venue it often happens 😂
Is it the same company maker of headrush?
I love my 412 good bass
Any news on the ts4 subs?
Is the TS408 good for vocals? Can it handle a professional singers voice?
Do these speakers have low latency while using Bluetooth and watching movies on phone?
*Ignore the power ratings on most consumer stereo gear, they usually use deceptive measurement tactics to inflate it, you take a look at the power usage it let you get an idea, simply multiply CURRENT in Amps by the operating voltage tells you the maximum power it uses, now on average you can half that due to thermal losses that for the power output, as a rough guide.*
Yes, I usually refer to continous and maximum SPL output data from their specifications to give me a closer Idea about how powerful the powered speakers are. My experience tells me that regardless of number of speakers that you will need to connect:- For nightclubs (all night dance) better go for top speakers Above 132db spl, For bars above
125db, For weddings (with dance) above 127db. For restaurants between 100db to 124db.
Ld system icooa 12 or alto 415 which its better crisp sound 🔊🔊 ls tell anybody.......
What drivers are in these cabs? usual Chinese stuff??? Anyone know?? Thanks in advance!
anyone did a comparison of TS415 vs icoa 15a who you think is the best??
can i connect yamaha keyboard with Alto TS408 speaker?
What is the name for the app
Hello. Why do the tweeters make noise in the TS415? No cables, everything set to "0" EQ off and when you turn on the Power there is noise? What to do with this? Why isn't anyone talking about this?! Everyone praises it, but it is clearly a poorly made column.
How many speakers can you connect via Bluetooth?
What are the diference between the TS vs Tx series?
Bluetooth
I WANT TO CONNECT THESE TO MY TV IN THE BACKYARD. IS THAT POSSIBLE??
Have anyone on here tested out Subzero speakers ?
Hey, I am using powered Alto TS412 speakers with a nonpowered mixer and my laptop. It sounds great except the occasional distortion that usually lasts about 20 seconds and then stops. It happens only about three songs in. I have the speakers connect by cords and am not using bluetooth. Any suggestions on how to stop the distortion from happening?
I also had this distortion problem that came up from time to time, reason was the wrong audio driver on my notebook that was connected via usb to my yamaha mixer, after update to (i think) the proper steinberg-driver everything was perfect
Yes, bring down your source gain. It should never hit red. Yellow is pushing it but as long as u don’t see red then there shouldn’t be any distortion. If that doesn’t work then the songs themself are the culprit.
I wonder if i can use this like a FRFR guitar Speaker?
The headrush frfr is a rebranded Alto.
Hello… this is my question.
2 alto TS410 + 2 alto TX212sub. Should be enough to play for 250 people as DJ in a dancing party? I’m looking for a great sound, affordable price and light weight. Please let me know.
If this helps, I dj'd an indoor gig for 100-150 a few years back, using 2 Alto TS208s and an 18 inch sub. I never had to crank the Altos past 11 o'clock & it sounded fantastic.
A better setup would be two TS 408 and two Bose sub2. Whatever you do try not to buy 12-in subwoofers. They are pointless. You could technically get better sound out of two 15-in mains by themselves versus having two tops with two 12-in subwoofers.
🤣@@DJBpartyTV
IF THIS SERIES HAS A POWERED SUBWOOFERS?
Which speaker would be recommended for a 100 person party in a 900 sq metre function room?
ts412
But no effects like the rcf why not ???
I wish music was played to test these speakers
They would sound only as good as your computer speakers or headphones
I have tons of demos
Alto speakers are overflowing in repair shops here in the UK,are these new ones any different?
Hi Colin! Having tested these in the studio during this shoot, we were incredibly impressed with the build quality, as well as the sound quality when pushed. All feedback we've had regarding the TS4 range has been nothing but positive, so these'll definitely become a reliable speaker for any use!
Do it really break down that much? I am interested in the TS408
I have over 100 gigs in with my TS312s. They sound as good as they were new. I don't crank the volume up to max, which may be why they last.
I hear these horror stories, too. Never had the problem with any of my various generations of Altos. Then again, I don't blast them to the max & clip them until they die. I suspect that a majority of the defects are directly the result of user error.
@@vanceshepherd1618I agree 100%. Am inexperienced user things oh, 2000 watts, let’s fucking go! But in reality most don’t understand that with volume Red means Dead with speakers. We must educate users ( manufacturers) include a label just as big as the wattage sticker to help buyers know to adjust their source gains properly😂 just saying.
What is the best bass speaker to get for TS415
Pair it with an alto sub but honestly u might not even need a sub. I own a set and they play nicely.
are these maximum watts or rms power? never owned any pa speaker(s)
The 2000w is peak power while the 1000w is rms
How do you compare this Speaker to JBL partybox 710 and 1000
These speakers are better than the JBL Partybox because they are professional DJ speakers. JBL Partybox is only for home use
Hi I have the ts4 15 why do I have to turn the vol all the way max to get sound
Check the line out signal from your mixer.. It might be lined out from the wrong output.
Should be the main stereo out
I have to do the same thing with my speakers but it doesn't bother me much. I've noticed with other speakers in the past I only had to turn them up halfway but with these Altos it looks like max volume is halfway for any other speaker. Just use them at max volume or at halfway on the mic setting which I do not recommend but I've seen other UA-camrs do it.
Alto TS415 vs mackie Thump 15xt? which is best?
Hi Vincent! It’s more a case of which suits your needs! Both speakers have great in-built features such as DSP, great build quality, and app control. The Alto app has a little more flexibility allowing you to have the custom EQ options, and the Alto speaker itself has more power and low-end when comparing the Frequency Ranges. However, the Mackie speaker has a cool music-ducking feature, as well as being slightly smaller and lighter than the TS415, with a bit more top-end than the Alto. So it’s all down to your needs and preferences! 😊
The amp modules, power and drivers in the ts2s 3s and now 4 series cabs are way beyond the thumps!! Iv stripped both apart.
Peavey pvx series better than poor quality alto.
I heard the TS3 series tweeter is so bad, it breaks easily, is it difficult to repair the TS 4 series? how good is the quality improvement? Sory using Google translate
hello , in the ts3 series there were only blown tweeters , what is sent here? Greetings
More powerful handling tweeters. 450 RMS which is crazy but if they blow then I’d be very surprised
Be honest, what is the actual sustained RMS power of these speakers? No way is it 2000 / 2500 watts.
they do like 500 real
They claim 1000w RMS
(650w LF + 350w HF)
RMS is 1000watts for 8inc, 10inc models and RMS is 1250watts for 12inc, 15inc models
That’s the peak power handling
2500 watts RMS?
1250 watts rms
Probably around 500 w RMS.
These were tested to produce less than 10% of their stated power.
Good sound quality but very poor build.tweeter easily blown out.
I kinda feel like when someone says, "Suprise it's sooooo light" immediately sends red flags for me. Magnets are heavy, and if it's quality, it's usually heavy. I've never used these but saw an add on facebook for a set of two tops and 2 bottoms for a good price, so naturally I'm researching. Usually if it's too good to be true, it's cause it's not true.
Let's address the elephant in the room.... reliability. All of the Alto speakers sound GREAT.... until the tweeter blows. I owned Altos for many years, and I learned early to buy spare tweeters because they blow all the time. I average about 6 months use out of a tweeter before it needs to be replaced. They're not expensive... about $40 each... but when they blow in the middle of a gig... which they usually do... it ruins that gig because without the tweeter these speakers sound terrible.
Alto should have addressed this issue years ago. For a few dollars more they could have been a very good mid-priced contender... instead of an industry joke.
Rcf ART series kills them each and every time.
Is this supposed to be breaking news? Lol
@@DjGabrielEscobar973 based on what i read for some its a revelation, given they Even use these speakers.
They are entry level within entry level.
They look great
Spec wise Even i am tempted by them.
But look at their amp in the back and dull plastic cabinet.
@@mikedubz5576 You have to know and respect your gear. Any reasonable DJ with a sense of knowledge should know these are entry. Not every DJ needs RCF, QSC etc. I know DJs that use the Alto TS3 series and love them. They use them in conjunction with a sub(s) so that helps but as said before, if you use your gear the correct way and dont push them, know your gain structure etc. These should be fine. I have the TR408 as a monitor and it's worked great with no issues.
@@DjGabrielEscobar973 yes i agree, but people tend to buy solely on looks and features while there are entry level gear that are far superior but have less whistles.
Example dbr12 is 50$ more per Unit Than the ts412.
Dbr12 is a quality entry level box, sounds better, Backed with 7 year warranty, yamaha legendary quality and sound BUT
Has no wireless and people fall for the trap.
For me its quality and reliability not features.
Because a simple wireless dongle made by alto costs a mere 80$ here in Canada in order to make their boxes wireless.
Which i do not like anyway.
🔝😂😂😂😂
Cheap low quality😫 far compare to QSC and YAMAHA
You are wrong my brother I have QSC n Alto both ..I loved the Alto sound compared to QSC
Will these work for playing live music through a 12 channel mixer ?
Yes. I have the 415 model
