Thank you so much Andrew i just stumbled across you site and I'm so glad I did as you have inspired me to go back to charcoal. I did a drawing this morning of our cottage I sat up on the footpath above the cottage at 5.30am this morning and I'm so happy with what I did and it's all down to you.
Those birds are the happiest creatures on the beach lol. I love seeing them. I see different ones here in Barbados they fly like schools of fish over the water, No idea what they are called! I didn't get to do any beach painting this weekend, but I'm definitely going to have at it on Saturday coming. Thank you for this video it made me feel like I painted this weekend.
I really enjoyed this. I like your casual set up. Great work. Would love to see the sketch out of direct sun and hear your assessment back at your place over coffee.
Liked the beach painting. The birds on the beach have a hard life, with only 2 areas they can feed, on the edge of the surf picking up bits washed in, or up on the strandline in the seaweed and drift wood, picking off sand flies and hoppers. Good you kept Basil still, while the birds were feeding.
What a beautiful day on the beach with the murmur of the waves in the background! I completely understand that Basile takes advantage of this. Anyway, you painted a beautiful seascape. Well done Andrew.
So nice to see you and Basil enjoying such a lovely morning at the beach!!! Enjoyed watching you skillfully complete your watercolor - so interesting to hear your decision making along the way and love how it turned out!!! Wish you a wonderful week ahead, dear Andrew 🌅🍃 until next time! ☺️✨
Lovely as always. It's so nice when the weather and elements cooperate and you can focus on painting instead of fighting the elements- bugs, wind sun intese cold heat. A calm sea may seem 'boring' but I would've considered it quite a treat! Beautiful painting! I hope you use watercolor more often 😄
Я при ярком солнечном свете рисую в солнцезащитных очках, один раз попробовала и очень понравилось, глаза не устают и на картине не рисую резкие контрасты. Советую попробовать.
Im very glad you took the time to share this video. Firstly, it was quite relaxing to watch you painting by the sea. Secondly, as one who also does not call watercolour his medium of choice, I found it a bit inspiring to watch you sketch. Lastly, I actually thought the sketch turned out quite nicely.
Beautiful morning for it! It’s always lovely getting little visitors out painting plein air. Do you still use the tubed egg tempera much? Really enjoy your videos and art!
Ultimately, the sea is purely magnetic. My grandfather’s people migrated to Newfoundland many centuries. He was drafted by the Royal Navy in WWI. Was a British citizen as Newfoundland was not part of Canada when he was born. He raised me in a fashion…taught me the names of every sail…how to row…live on fish. So…in my blood.
Потрясающий океан❤❤❤❤, восторг для глаз и ума, спасибо большое за видео и ваш труд живописца❤❤❤❤. Обнимаю вас❤
Thank you so much 😊

Lovely and peaceful. You and Basil have the beach all to yourselves. Loved the painting.
Thank you very much

Thank you very much - I like the idea of a more reflective assessment over coffee. Maybe one for the future

Thanks for sharing, Andrew!
You’re welcome Bob
The birds look like Calidris, could be minuta or another one of them, hard to tell from the video... lovely they found a place on your sketch.
They were a real treat 😃

Thanks Gary - Basil was probably snoozing whilst the birds were feeding. I love the wildlife

Thank you so much Roxanne 😃
lovely and relaxing, especially enjoyed the dunlin visitors.
Thanks Jan. They were a lovely surprise 😃
Your watercolour skills look pretty good to me - it's not my main medium either, but lovely to play with.
Thank you so much Robert - I'm just too impatient with watercolour when it is damp outside - doesn't dry fast enough and bleeds all over the place 😀
That was so enjoyable and informative. Thank you for sharing your time, your knowledge and your morning with us.
You’re welcome Suzanne. Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch the video

Thank you very much for your comments. I’m glad you found it relaxing. That’s just how it was for us too. All the best
Andrew
Hey Andrew..love the vid esp Basil. What watercolour half pans are you using?
Thank you Roger. Most of the half pans are Winsor & Newton
nice, thanks.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Beautiful morning for it! It’s always lovely getting little visitors out painting plein air. Do you still use the tubed egg tempera much? Really enjoy your videos and art!
Hi Luke and thank you. I will be using the tubes of egg tempera again soon. I just need to prepare some surfaces first
I think an angry sea is worthy of a good artist. A sleeping sea is not so interesting
That's true - but it was so nice to sit beside it and have a gentle watercolour sketching session
