I agree with you about having the seam allowance being printed on pattern. I don’t like spending extra time looking for the seam allowance on instructions when I’m ready to start sewing. When I remember, I also write it on my printed patterns.

I like the ruffle neck blouse on you, but with the collar open. Then you can see your neck and it doesn’t look so short. I would also interface that area beyond the button placket for longevity.❤ I love love love that giraffe print scarf! ❤ Those faux leather shorts look great on you. ❤

I’m not a knitter but that grey sweater at the end is beautiful-very versatile. Your blue shirt is cute, just a little different style than you’d normally wear which is okay (color looked good on you). You are rock’n the faux leather shorts-great make.
I love the eye of partridge heel, it's such a pretty way of reinforcing the flap. The shorts are really cute, I just personally prefer pleats that open away from the crotch instead of toward the the centre front. I don't even know why lol.
Just catching up on videos. Sorry that I'm so late. You made a winter blouse! And I love it on you! The hazel is very much the kind of vibe that I'm wanting to bring into my winter wardrobe. Of course, you have to love it, too. I think it looks really beautiful on you, though. I hope you try it out a few more times and see what I see. I especially liked it with the long skirt-- another thing my winter wardrobe is missing!
I like everything you made and your knitting is gorgeous! I want to make that hooded scarf - love the fabric you used for it, even if it wasn't quite what you thought it would be, but I think a thinner fabric than a fake fur makes it easier to manage when you're wearing it as it's not so thick and unwieldy but it's apparently still more than warm enough. I've started doing what you did - pull out things I don't wear and either make them so I will wear them or move them along out the door!
I was thinking what a nice pairing of fabric you made with the Jolilab Hazel. But I get how the structure of the fabric might not work or feel right irl. Your make immediately made me consider if I could work it into my closet. I had the same thoughts about whether the femininity of the ruffles would work into my more minimalist, basic aesthetic but I feel like there are surely ways to make it work! Interested to see how you end up styling it. It seems like it would be a great elevated basic. Definitely gives that Sezane allure. Fwiw, to my eye the collar doesn't look to tall for your neck but that's totally an issue of how it feels to you when you wear it. Also, I think you can totally pull off the unlined collar. I don't know if it looks different in person but as a viewer the contrast looks like a design feature.
I think the Haven shirt looks absolutely gorgeous on you. The color is fantastic, and I love how you styled it for the video with the neckline open. It's a nice contrast with the formality of the shirt design versus the informality of the open neckline. I see what you mean about the length and shape though. When you tuck it in the fabric is a bit stiff. Would you wear it if it was about hip length and taken in at the sides a bit? Maybe you could wear it untucked, half tuck, or open (our just a few buttons in the center buttoned) if it was shorter and taken in a bit at the sides. Or what if you made it into a bodysuit so it pulled it taut? I don't wear bodysuits, but they look good on other people. Or could it somehow be turned into a dress and belted? I have total faith that you can make it into something fabulous.
Hi Sara. With regard to the Hazel blouse, I liked how the open collar looked on you as opposed to it buttoned up. Is there possibility to alter the pattern to slim it down? Or if you use a challis- do the lined collar adding medium interfacing to make the ruffle stiff/ stand up? As you mentioned you weren’t feeling the aesthetic it’s possible it doesn’t gel with your (Kitchener) essence/s? I’m just exploring my kibbe / essence and your right - it’s weird when you can’t quite put your finger on why a perfectly lovely garment isn’t ‘sparking joy’.
i could always change my mind in the future but for now i don't like the pattern enough to revisit it. some people like to keep plugging away on a pattern until they get it perfect but i think i prefer to just pick something else.

It looks like it falls slightly off your shoulders and looks like you could use a little more room in the sleeve hole. The ruffle on the collar isn't bad but i know what you mean about ruffles. I like them but never sure if they are for me. I love the hooded scarves!
Sarah, it seems the clothes you have sewn for yourself do not fit you properly. For example, the area underneath your armpit at the bust level, there's too much fabric there. I'm hoping this comes across as helpful. I love your video content and how the content is presented. Thank you for all you do.
I love the ruffle shirt on you! I'm imagining it with wide leg trousers or a flowy maxi skirt. It's cool, it's sort of Victorian inspired!

i definitely don't do bodysuits either. i am not an untucker, but i could think about taking it in at the side seams. thanks for the suggestions!

I like it on you, but I think maybe the shoulders are too wide? Given the overall body width a size down might have worked better overall.
