    0:48 Before Photos
    2:22 Decode Serial #
    5:53 Disassembly
    7:52 Crank Restoration
    10:58 Rebuild
    22:44 Final Reveal
Special thanks to Jahzzar who provided all of the music for this video. Check him out at freemusicarchi...
If you are watching this two years in the future, did we survive 2020? & if you ask me a super specific question in the comments don't take offense if I don't remember the answer.
    Thanks so much for watching!

This bike is was on my wishlist along with the Redline, my dear friend Tony (RIP) had a Diamondback & I had a Toro we'd hit the local dirt track and have a blast, riding for hours, crashing, getting up & dusting ourselves up and going for more! The 80s were great years to be a teen..

My dad bought me this exact bike - I grew up in a town where having a nice bike made you a target - it was really hard to hold on to a decent bike as a kid there. I got the bike when I was like 14 or so, I'm.44 now. I held onto it as long as I could until some big bully asshole stole it from me. The bike was around 300 dollars new, if I recall correctly, and at the time, it was pretty much the most expensive top-of-the-line bmx bike in the shop. This is a great restoration, and by the end of the video, the bike looks almost exactly like the one I had, except for a couple of details. The handle bar clamp was gt branded, not Dyno branded, of course, and the seat itself was actually composite - partly plastic, partly foam. The entire top of the seat was foam kind recessed into the plastic frame of the seat. I honestly get both an angry feeling and a nostalgic feeling when I see the bike. Angry at the guy who stole it from me, and nostalgic for the bike itself...

It's stuffed up in my garage with a GT performer, Mongoose Hooligan and Villan. Not curtain on all the years but def all pre 95.. The bikes i threw in the trash years ago makes me want to puke. I know when the sun's shining an the warm nights come back it will be a great to hop on for a ride.. My neighbor had one of those when I had my Group One that I can't find. I don't remember mine having a kinked upward top tube. Anyway, the rider of the Mach One that lived next door to me was a freshman when I was in sixth. "They" taught me how to do 360's over a box. First trick, on a race bike what's only progression from there was speed. Mach One's a "bad" bike.

👍👍Really nice job, without pads... you shared a story so I'll share a story...!
I had a GT Mach One as a kid growing up I got it from some punk ass high school kid that went around the car that stopped for me and hit me in the Cross walk going to Elementary school mind you he was driving a Jeep and he destroyed my bike, luckily enough I only got bumps and bruises and wasn't really injured by the good graces of God honestly, I don't even know how I wasn't fooking killed cuz my bike was destroyed V OUT and in pieces all over the street the bike was everywhere... but long story short in the town I lived in Springville Utah , he didn't get a ticket so my parents couldn't Sue him I guess somehow it's not against the law to hit people in a Crossing walk at that time. I don't really know I was 10 in 93 and that's when I got my new bike luckily enough he replaced my old "bmx predator Chrome red checkerboard" and letting me pick out a new bike at the bike shop, I guess that was his way of saying he was sorry...!
    P.S.
the handlebar grips when I was a kid was a bitch to find then to I had to replace them a couple times cuz they were gel'ed and I would burn through them... they were really nice to have but kind of a bad design and mine did not have the GT sticker logo underneath it I guess the bike shop screwed me on that one lol..

Have the same bike since I was a kid and still have it. I believe it was 1994 when it was purchased brand new. Question will using that dremal and wire brush hurt the chrome will cleaning rust spots. Mine needs to be cleaned as well. Good job on your bike restoration.

Looks good! The rear dropouts are like mine where they connect but mine is apparently a 98' or 99' but don't know why the same model could have different rear dropouts available the same years.

Great job 👍 just my opinion though flip the seat rail clamp so the bolts are inside the seat , looks nicer , glad you dropped the bar clamp right down to the head set 👍 and the bars would look nicer inline with the forks , they’re too far forward , but that’s just me , nice job 👍

Hello mind me asking you a question? I jus picked up a 1984 GT Pro (I think) can anybody tell me how to tell the difference between GT Pro and GT Pro series? The serial number has a (4) at the bottom of the drop out. I'm pretty excited to start building it up. Anything hopes. Thank you

Try it with just the handle bar pad and see how that looks. I'd probrobly find a number plate to stick on it as well. It def turned out well, and don't worry ab longer videos, we don't mind, I promise lol
