I grew up brown and Jewish in a very white, very Christian suburb, so I was very jealous of Christmas as a kid.
I had a friend with a very well meaning family who tried to convert me all the time. I was so excited one year when they bought me an advent calendar and invited my over for Christmas!
I mean, I still turned out an Atheistic lesbian, but it was fun.
yeah honestly if it wasn't advertised as "fluffy slime" and they were ordered a bit better, this would actually be a pretty decent calendar
I' m from Germany. Advent calendars were invented here.
So I have morgen than one. Even my cat Maja has one. She loves opening the little boxes in December and eating what ' s inside.
Im from Germany too and my cats have an Advent calender too
Ja, mein Kater hat auch einen. Ich hab mir dieses Jahr sogar zwei gegönnt 😸
I have one for my dog, since my cat is picky, he doesn't get one. 🤣 My dog helps me open it, and whenever I reach for it, he gets so excited. 🥰
I used to have alot of them, when I was younger, and last year, me and my bf bought them just for fun, and then another three for the kids in his family, but they didn't want it since one kid has munchausen by proxy, and WaS AlLeRgIc, and the other two already had a few. So we had 5 calendars for ourselves. 🤣
German as well. My cats had one last year, but they didn't like it. I think I was even more disappointed than my cats 😅
If I was a cat i would totaly love that calendar.. It's like a little toy with food
"It does have a four star review."
A four star review of only thirteen people. The fewer people who review something, the less trust I have for it online. People tend to have a lot to say when its either something really loved or really hated. I bet the 13 reviews are all "Arrived quickly! Gift for my grandchild."
Also some of the reviews you see are done by bots and not actual people.
I only saw 3 written reviews on it and 2 were saving it for their kids.
@@JackalopeBunny also some of the reviews are for a completely different product 😩 and you don’t realise until you start reading through them all 🙈 ugh

When I was a young one (1995) advent was only a flat cardboard rectangle, with push windows 1-25 with a really mediocre chocolate and now I’m happy that they have all sorts of advents! I’ve got an office one coming this year!
The Netherlands is stuck in '95 I guess hahaha
when i was a child (1950's) there was only a picture behind each door, and it was totally flat like a greeting card...but we were so excited to open each day! Simpler times, and we were happier.
Mmmm and the chocolate either tastes like plastic or cardboard xD I never had an advent calendar as a kid, but I've had them in young adulthood. I always liked making paper chains as a kid and ripping off a loop every day until the last loop, Christmas day

Advent calendars are a thing where I live. Each year, there's an 'official' online one for my city that you can open every day throughout December. The prizes are vouchers you can claim from different businesses: discounted cinema tickets, 2 for 1 ice creams, drinks, tickets to the zoo, free dessert at a restaurant, % discount at a beauty salon...
That’s such a cool idea!
Is it germany? Cuz it's the same here
That's a super cool idea!! Plus, it brings customers to businesses!
Wow, that’s way more useful than chocolates and candy
Same for Wellington, NZ
“Balls?” IM ON THE FLOOR HELP 😭💀
I live and i was born in italy , and advent calendars are really popular here , mostly ones that are filled up with chocolates or candy. But my family is from Macedonia, and there aren't advent callendars there . But instead there are some type of packs or gift looking type of boxes , and they're filled with snacks, chocolate, toys and other stuff like that. You're supposed to open them on the dayof Christmas. It's really fun!! I enjoy eating the snacks hehehe
You would think that even if the slime itself wasn't fluffy that some of inclusions would be things to turn the slime INTO fluffy slime.
that was what i figured! even when she was opening the clear slime, i thought maybe they had put the stuff to Make it fluffy in the smaller things. [le sigh]
Same. I thought so too.
That was my thought too in the beginning; that the inclusion are fake snow or whatever you need to make slime fluffy.
@@miaikonteras4006 fluffy slime is shaving foam and slime it would be cloud slime if you added fake snow.

Oh great, my sister has been asking for an advent caledar this year, they're not a thing here in Mexico so I've been looking for them in Amazon xD
I'm also from Mexico!
I am german, but I Love those Do it your self ones. Easier To find there something nice than those ready.
Mines just a lollipop one 🤣
I have a wooden one that I put little candies in.
I’m in south Texas so we get a lot of Mexican products, and my son’s favorite candy that I put in the advent calendar is Duvalín.
Honestly, unless they’re super obsessed with something specific (ie lego, Harry Potter, Star Wars, slime, etc) the home made ones are so much more fun and a much better value. Plus most of the store bought chocolate ones are overpriced for what you get. You can get either a fabric one with little pockets or a wooden one with little drawers and fill it yourself every year. Either little toys, games, gifts, or chocolate and candy. I’d look for a refillable one online and get some things to fill it locally or from online separately.
I just downloaded those first 71 pages of the heros journal. Just flipping through it, I absolutely LOVE the illustrations that go with the story. I aspire to become better in my illustration skills, and I hope this can be a motivation to get me there! Thanks for the recommendation, Jackie!
Ikr!?? The journal pages are absolutely magical
Love the sculpting scoop tool 😂
I got hurt and cried but you put the hearts on the cap and I started laughing loll😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My mum made my brother and I really cool advent calendars last year. She got little boxes and wrapped up 24 small sweets and numbered them. It was so fun to unwrap a tiny gift every morning till Christmas eve :)
I never wven thought about making your own! You and your mom mightve just made my child's life lol!
I noticed that, on several items on Amazon, the 4 star reviews are actually from people reviewing COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ITEMS! The reviews seem to be added randomly to raise the reviews of items that are really not good.
Thankfully it appears Amazon will fix the issue as soon as they are aware of it. At least they did with an item I was looking at. So it is most likely the third parties that are falsifying stars.
or another possibility is that the seller sells more than one thing on one page. so people aren't even aware they reviewed for product x when they needed to scroll down to product z, the product they Actually bought.
i almost made that mistake a couple of times... purchased something from a page one day, wasn't aware that more products had been added, went to review and didn't know about the change until i'd almost hit the submit button.
@@kstormgeistgem461 I didn't know about that. That is very likely.

I like it when you do slime stuff or satisfying stuff because I like watching those kind of stuff
At work, I've seen advent calendars that have makeup and coffee pods. I'm interested in the makeup one. When we were kids, we used to get chocolate calendars, and we would start at 24 and go backwards (to help us count down the days until Christmas). So quite often, our first chocolate would be the special Santa, and our last would be a sock or a squirrel lol.
Also your tiny microphone is adorable.
i got one with nail polish once
My mom made an advent calendar that she would hang on the livingroom door. Each day was a pocket, and she put three (later four) mini candy canes in each. Each of us children would get a cane a day... definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.

you made posted this 1 day before my brothers birthday and 10 days before mine and amazing videos!
At this point I feel like the "advent calender" I made for my sister kicks this one outta the park. That one had stuff for all sorts of creative activities that kept her busy for the whole day - everything from complex colouring pages, making her own slime, puzzles, crochet, cooking simple things, making handmade paper (that was the last day - to use up all the paper used to make it and then make a card with that. Also had seeds in it. We still have the plant) and whatnot. I would just put the stuff in paper bowls, stick them to the base of a big box and then put different coloured crepe paper on top with the date. We had so much fun. She would have never learnt half these things had it not been for the advent calender.(she was in 7th grade at the time) I loved teaching her. Both of us would be busy all day having so much fun. Guess I should start making a new one again. These ones are garbage.
This is amazing! Love the idea of having all kinds of creative and fun activities in it, that are more than a "oh this is nice for 5 mins" thing and actually take up a whole day of having fun!
@@tezzanoia Thanks :) I know. With the pandemic and everything we couldnt go on a family vacation last year. My sister was really feeling down because of that. I had nothing very productive to do so I decided to do something to make us spend time together. So I tried to make stuff that was simple but would keep both of us occupied and happy for the whole day. Was awesome for the both of us
@@wrongturnVfor that's such a sweet idea!

The only thing I will say in it's favor is that I'm impressed none of them shifted in the box or spilled or dried up. That seems to be a fairly common issue with slimes so a small kudos to them. Other than that though this seems like a total rip off.

I'm from Spain, and yeah, we have advent calendars. Ours usually come with tiny pieces of chocolate.
In fact, I already have mine ready to start December.
We need a salt calendar, there are so many different 🧂 salts out there.
I'm from Brazil and I've never seen an advent calendar! It seems like a fun gift. Maybe I'll create a crafty one for my brothers ☺️
I come from California and Advent calendars are DEFINITELY a thing! I can’t live without advent calendars. The only downside is, My brother gets to keep all the toys or chocolates and I get to open the doors.
Yes I am enjoying this
The last few years, i really enjoyed the DavidsTea one. A new tea everyday is really conforting to me.
I feel like this would have been a lot more fun if this was just like a general “winter” or Christmas one. With like whites, blues, clear, green and red. And then with glitters, snowflakes, stars, those little balls as ornaments, etc etc that were all wintery and christmassy. The colours and inclusions just felt really random. I mean either way it wasn’t what was advertised but I almost could have given it a pass if it was more festive. This could have been so good with literally no extra effort, just better choices⭐️🎄🌲❄️☃️🎁✨
I just imagine the child being like "yay femo slices"
When she pours the hearts on the slime which actually has a cap on it’s so funny
I'm from Austria, advent calendars are very much a thing here. When I was a kid, we even made our own once in art class; with small pictures behind each door (or, in my case, window). My SO and I get them for ourselves to this day, and we're in our mid-30s.
Also, I wonder what would happen if you added salt to slime. Like, those bigger rock salt crystals you can get in a mill sometimes? Would that change the slime? If not, it might be slightly more environmentally friendly than glitter.
There's a biodegradable glitter made out of seaweed!
I'm assuming adding salt would dry the heck out your hands lol.
I love how thoughtful you are-you never assume that people know what something is. You always make sure everyone is on the same page even if it takes a few extra minutes. I love this channel 😍
I was playing with fluffy slime while watching this video 😂
Bro when you put the microphone in the slime it made me feel amazing
I just wanted to say that I absolutely adore you (and Sika). I feel like I'm watching a friend. I sit here and giggle with you and talk back to you as I watch. Thank you for all the joy and happiness you bring ❤
I grew up in Japan and it wasn’t until I was well into my adulthood that I really understood what advent calendars are. I even designed one (I’m a graphic designer) and was told by my boss that the numbers shouldn’t be in order. It really bothers me that the numbers are all out of order, and I still don’t understand why the numbers are in chaos.
Also they are HELLA expensive.
your boss is weird!
Part of the "game" is to find the correct door each day. Would be too easy if they were in order. Back when i was a child you either got chocolates or just pictures and those kind are affordable. All the fancy calendars with food, crafts, beauty products etc are quite new and can be pricey yeah.
@@AbusiveExclusive Oh, I see! Thank you for the explanation :)
Nah, I disagree with your boss who said that searching for the next date is part of the game. I bought things like these for our daughter when she was little. I've never bought one that wasn't in order. I suppose they can be different but all the ones we've had used the same size compartments. They were actually laid out like a calendar and in proper order. Since it's called a calendar ( that matches the Christian season of Advent)
That is what SLIME is like !😎
Here in England, Advent calendars are incredibly popular, even in mid November. The most popular that I see in shops are dairy milk ones, and my family often picks up generic chocolate ones in a panic because it's Nov 29th and we leave it until the last minute normally (Which is what we do with most things) To any UK grains not in England, Are they as popular in other parts of the UK as in England?
I love advent calendars. As a child it was just a picture behind the tab but now I have a chocolate one every year. This year I’ve bought my wife a coffee one. She is a bit of a Scrooge with Christmas but this year I am pulling out all the stops to get her into the Christmas spirit 😈
This made me realize that I would totally buy an advent calendar that was just little containers of random inclusions.
I love inclusions. I always say I’m going to use them in crafts, but instead I mostly just put them in my drawer of organized inclusions and admire them.
I’m like a magpie, lol.
Same here! Had to buy a new drawer organizer because I have so many. But they’re so shiny and pretty. 😅😂
Tatiana K I’m always looking online for new clay inclusions and fine glitters. I just *love* them!
I would lose my mind over a 24-day advent calendar of inclusions. Especially since it works for so many crafters! Resin, polymer clay, air dry clay, decoden, miniatures, slime, scrapbooking!
Sofie & Toffee or Craft Kitsune or Miniature Sweets needs to get on this idea.
Oh yep, you speak the secret desires of my heart ..... my inner niffler heart that is. 😁
When you do these videos you should call it "Amazon or Scamazon" 😂
25 percent of me is like you shouldn't spend your money but 75 percent of me is like I LOVE TO SEE YOU SUFFER! Sorry Jackie
I was born and spent my first 15 years in Eastern Europe, advent calendars weren't really a thing where I come from. But then I moved to the UK and was really surprised about this tradition and found it really fun! I really enjoy buying them around Christmas, either just the traditional chocolate ones or fancier ones with different gifts.
The one “pink” was actually a yellow one that turned pink from the glitter, so it’s just 5 pinks 🙈
I love you girl you don’t need to worry
All slime experts have to have a mustache and slime earrings! Lol
Every year my son & daughter have Lego & makeup Advent calendars, although they are pricey...they also know it will count as one of their gifts for Christmas. My Pooch also has a treat calendar.😂
Would've been awesome if it had different kinds of slime, too! The variety of inserts were cute, even if the glitter was not environmentally friendly. I always enjoy you trying out various kits and advent calendars! Happy Holidays!
SaltECrafter is gonna have a field day
I come from Canada and we have advent calendars if like all types and last Christmas we saw one that was like a LOL doll one and it was pretty cool.
Btw love your vids keep up the great work
I bought a knock-off Sailor Moon advent calendar last year, and it was hilarious! Anyone else would probably have been disappointed, but for some reason I love adding bizarre little knock offs to my Sailor Moon collection. The only problem is there were too many duplicates, but I gave the extras to my nieces, so it worked out. P.S. I’m from the US, but I’m fine with Christmas and Thanksgiving overlapping. 😊
It's a tragedy that Jackie didn't mix all the slime together at the end
So true
I love it when U were like let's open number 18 and then struggled and was like BaLlS ....👀😂
I remember getting a squishy calender from amazon when it came it was tiny each door I opened was a duplicate even on christmas eve 😅 it came on the 14th and it was a big waste the picture on amazon was way better and the one I got had single colored squishys
From the southern U.S. and I have heard of advent calendars but they aren't a huge deal here. I really appreciate all the recs you give, I had no idea after crafting for my whole life there was environmentally safe glitter. And the journal is on my xmas list for the honey.
I’m born and raised in the UK, I’ve always had a advent calendar, a chocolate one, even now as an adult my mom still buys me one 😂
Same, moved away from my family, when they came to visit a week or so ago they brought up advent calenders for my partner and I, haha.
