@@thebigdogg2866 didnt look like Jake was even confident even days before the fight and getting to the ring and beyond. HE says he doesnt know what was weird with his legs but as many pros said, its simply the nerves of a beginner.
you could clearly see he wasnt the same calm compposed, relaxed, present person he was as he walked to the ring as he was with Askren. Of course Tyron was a tougher opponents and thus normal pressure, but he definitely wasnt loose and confident like he needed to be in this last fight. So obviously he didnt perform as well as he could have, so its definitely true.
Tommy acts like a young man is supposed to act. Hope he continues to get better and let his work do the talking.

Tommy only had 10 amateur fights, that's why they're trying to feed him weak opponents, you can't just put a guy who has limited experiences with undefeated prospects. Since Jake only had 1 amateur fight, they needed something to substitute for Jake's lack of experience. BJ would call in guys with usually only a couple of days or a week of boxing training to pit them up against Jake Paul, and those would be like his amateur fights. In sparring, it's mostly just to test how good you are and fix your flaws, but in these training sessions, they aren't spars, they are fights where you just try to beat the other guy, that's why in such a short time, he looked good and became better in a short amount of time.
Jake said that he was gonna take a break, so I think that Tommy has tons of time to improve and fight again.

Tommy is overhyped. He couldnt ko an opponent who wasnt only smaller length wise but also weight wise, Anthony fights at 140 and he had only had one boxing fight before this one.
Jake fight would never happen. Tommy is not Jakes type I.e an actual boxer.
Jake wants hype too for the money. Most of the viewers watch it casually for the 'spectacle' if you'd call it that. In all honesty, I do believe that Jake could hang with Tommy. But these guys need to hype up their fights more. I mean, realistically why would Jake risk a loss at this point for less money? He's doing the smart thing and we'd all do the same if we were in his shoes. However, I do believe that Jake might actually take the fight if there's enough hype.
Jake and tyron both struggled against mma fighters. Which mma fighter has a losing record and which mma fighter is a top 4 welterweight of all time. Jake beats fury.

Exactly right! My exact thoughts! Tommy was nervous last night but I think he’s damn good and will be great one day. And those tall ass ropes saved Jake Paul for real bc that was a big shot he took. I didn’t notice the ropes at first until Woodley mentioned it after the fight. Is that normal for a boxing match? In my amateur fights the ropes were much lower.

I wish he could have stopped Anthony from wrestling and clinching but Anthony knew just enough to stay away from fury range. I got to give Anthony props for not getting ko badly from Tommy, and on the same hand learning to impose your will on someone with skill takes awhile to learn. You always learn more from loses too, so I hope Tommy considers this a loss but it is not reflected on his record but a personal loss of disappointment that he didn't land a clean shot and set up traps for Anthony so that he still needs to get motivated to turn it on during when someone is hard to deal with. Other than that, we glad he won but we knew he was going to, and the Jake Paul stuff was funny, because Jake obviously said Tommy was a prospect next fight during his build up but after fights change his mind and make excuses Haha ok Jake you never ko your sparring partner either so shut up, if Tommy would have then Jake would say something else, cry baby

While I completely agree with you that this fight exposed Jake ( in many ways ) I think you have to give this kid some proper credit and acknowledgment. In arguably his first “actual fight” this kid managed to go 8 rounds while and persevere through some very heavy shots while in the spotlight of a crowd larger than most of the best champions will ever perform. No amateur background and also arguably under duress ( for sure not the best version of himself ) probably from a massive adrenaline dump. There are almost no professional boxers with less than 5 fights that are going 8 rounds. It is incredibly difficult. Regardless of how I feel about his character I give him much respect for ability under those circumstances.

As a genuine life long fan of boxing I’m not at all disappointed of the card that showtime put together last night and the opportunity for exposure that the undercard fighters received is priceless. The Montana love fight was incredible. Dubois’ introduction to the US market and the chance for some name recognition amount casual fans. I find it hard to see this as bad for boxing. What’s bad for boxing is the bullshit fights put together due to the politics of the governing bodies and promoters. Their inability to make the fights that the fans want to see is what’s hurting the sport.
