I made it yesterday. Just changed baking powder to 1.5 tsp and added half tsp baking soda to give it a good rise.. It came out really good and light.. Next time I will add few raisins or date chunks to gv the extra sweetness. Thx for the recipe
I just made it and I have to say that it so yummy and light. I just have one suggestion. It will be nice to put the ingredients in the description box, to watch while following the amount😊😉😘
I made this exactly as-is, but I added 4 dates to make it a bit sweeter (I was a bit nervous that it had no added sugar), and I used a food processor to mix the wet ingredients. The loaf is delicious and so tender! My first time using coconut flour, and this made me confident to try other recipes using this flour again. Thank you!
Yay! I am so glad to hear the bread worked out well for you and even more that it gives you confidence to try more coconut flour recipe. That's wonderful
I just baked one. Delicious! All the adds that you suggested made a big difference. Thank you for sharing your secret. I can't wait to try your coconut cookies. !!
Not sure why but mine was a bit on the dry side. I subbed chia seeds instead of flax meal. I had to add another egg to give it some wiggle and even then it didn’t just flow into the baking pan like yours did
Im so anxious to see how mine comes out i miss heard the recipe i thought she said 1 and a half of coconut flour but it was obviously half cup so i added 2 more bananas 1 more egg more oil and cinnamon oh also peanut butter hope the loaf comes out good lol idk what in doing im no cook 🤣🙌🙏
I made it, very good. Nice and moist. The zucchini one I put raisins in and it gives me diarrhea. It must be the raisins. I will have to try it with nuts. I am on a low acid diet because of damage to my throat from silent acid reflux. Not coming up but going down.
Omg I just made this and I was pleasantly surprised ,thought it was gonna have a eggy taste but it was good!!!!i use chop walnuts and dried cranberries yum!!! Thanks for sharing!
Just made this, and my whole family loved it! I topped mine off with two halves of a banana for aesthetics and to have bigger chunks of banana in a slice. So amazes by this recipe, definitely a keeper. Thank you!
I tried it tonight and the flavor was surprisingly sweet! However, I don’t recommend using almond flour instead of the flax-meal because I did that and my bread had a very odd sponge-like texture. Next time I will definitely use flax-meal. Thanks for the recipe though! :)
Looks great, thanks for sharing. I don't have silium husk and can't find nut butter. Any other suggestions. I made banana bread during lock down but it was quite dense becauseof the Almond flour.. I also am allergic to coconut flour. Any suggestions 🤔
I just made it now in 11:00 pm 😂😂I’m from the people who love to eat the sweets at the end of the night I love the taste it was so delicious Thanks you so much and a will be happy to subscribe your channel
Hello!!! How can I replace peanut butter or almond butter..? Maybe some milk butter? Thank you so much for you recipes, I send you a huge hug from Perú
I have cooked this, but it is soft and wet on the bottom, I did not use seed butter but milk butter, and I changed the cornstarch for xanthan gum, because it did not have those ingredients and I cooked it for 50 minutes at 350º F as it says the recipe. Has anyone experienced the same? or do you know what happened? I mean this is still delicious, but with a weird texture... thank you in advance to whoever can help! Thank you Regina for your receipes, Love your channel! :)
I think your substitutions are the problem. Regular butter is not a substitution for nut butter, because of the lacking fiber. You only got the fat aspect. How much xanthan gum did you use? I know it can work in place of cornstarch when thickening sauces but I am not sure it works as a substitute in this banana bread. It looks like my paleo coconut flour banana bread recipe leelalicious.com/paleo-banana-bread-recipe/ without cornstarch or nut butter that I also shared in your comment on another video will be more suitable for you
It is 50 minutes. You can always find the detailed recipe and more tips in my blog posts linked below leelalicious.com/coconut-flour-banana-bread/#wprm-recipe-container-58553
Yes, that is also my exact question… some bananas are much smaller, others larger… Could you please help us answer this question?? 4 Mashed bananas equals to almost 1 cup…????????? Or…….?
Hi 😊 can i used microwave oven and how about the time to bake it there? I will used syllium husk, dont have flax meal ☹ thsnk you in advance for your reply. I'm in philippines. 👋
Hi there, I am not sure about making a whole love on the microwave. I would recommend making individual mug cakes instead like any of these ua-cam.com/video/eDyLfbMDsP4/v-deo.html or maybe make 1/4 of the banana bread recipe and cook it in mugs in the microwave
I am not sure how leaving out the bananas will affect the batter. Maybe you'll need to add a little extra liquid to make up for the lack of moisture. Any unsweetened plant milk should work
My goal with this recipe is to have a good tasting (not too dense) gluten free, dairy free banana bread. Nut butter serves not only as fat here but also gives the loaf structure and flavor. Same with the flax it is not only a binding agent. I've tried to omit it and only use eggs, but the overall texture is too eggy and a bit soggy. The flax meal makes for a more pleasant texture
I am not sure. This recipe was specifically developed for coconut flour. The amount of eggs and additional nut/seed butter are there to try and mimic a wheat flour banana bread as best as possible. So I am not sure that simply substituting wheat flour (at a ratio of 3-4x the amount of coconut flour) will have good results
I just made it today and totally love it! My 1 year old is a fan too :D Thank you very much for posting this recipe. A question: if I double the number of bananas used to 8, should I also use twice as much of all the other ingredients?
AAAHHH! I misheard in the video!! I put 1 1/2 cup of flour instead of 1/2 cup!! I know get why it was too dry!! :))) Anyway, the taste was GREAT. Next time I will put one cup less of flour......
It sounds like your oven is running too high. Do you have an oven thermometer to check? You can also try covering the top with aluminum foil to keep it from darkening too much
I didn't say it was low sugar. Just that thee is no added sweetener aside from the bananas we already need. And compared to other banana bread recipes that also use added sugar this one is by comparison lower in sugar actually. It may not be suitable for a keto/no sugar diet. But then again, no banana anything would be
It tasted okay but I really disliked this recipe because it went bad in just a day and a half even when it was refrigerated at the lowest possible temperature. My watermelon froze on the corners, the temperature of the fridge was so low. Still, it started smelling bad and became tangy in flavour in just a day and a half.
! You're saying "no sugar added" and then you add some chocolate chips? Where's the logics? Anyway, thank you for the reciepe, Im gonna try it now (but really without sugar added)
The chocolate chips are optional. I always use dark chocolate which has low sugar. There are sugar-free chocolate chip options as well. Otherwise you can use nuts or no add-ins at all
I've just read this though - 'The very best substitute for coconut oil in baking is the same amount of butter! ... Because butter is also solid at room temperature, the properties are similar. Using butter will yield a more rich, savory flavor than coconut oil. It also gives a chewier, moister texture to baked goods like cookies'. I'm going to give it a go with butter. X

THANK YOU for your simple and clean recipe and Explanations for substitutes....so helpful! Yes, I subscribed!
I am glad to hear it was helpful to you!
I like that you omitted the honey, like many other paleo recipes insist upon. There really is no need for additional sweetness.
Made this tonight, and my oh my 😍 so soft and delicious. Thank you. Will definitely be making it again. 👍
Thank you, a great recipe for a family trying to transfer from bleached flour and sugar to a healthier solution.
Wonderful! Great to hear this recipe is helping your family on their healthier journey
Not sure why but mine was a bit on the dry side. I subbed chia seeds instead of flax meal. I had to add another egg to give it some wiggle and even then it didn’t just flow into the baking pan like yours did
I made this yesterday and totally get how the nut butter makes it so tender, this is a great recipe, thanks.
I am so glad you like this recipe. There is something about the nut butter that helps lighten it up that just coconut flour can't do.
i made it yesterday, not as sweet but its fine as i’m into low carb now, ty very much for sharing the recipe…
Wonderful!
Thank you, honestly your banana bread is the best I ever tasted!
This makes me so happy to hear. So glad you like the recipe!
Hi Leela wen I'm in mood im going to make dis sweetbread n thank u for sharing like how it does not need any xtra sweetener
My pleasure 😊 I like it sweetened with just ripe banana and chocolate chips. But there is an option to add sweetener if you prefer

Thanks Leela. Never imagined i could do this without any sugar or artificial sweetener etc. Really moist considering its coconut flour.

❤ since bananas can come in different sizes… 4 mashed bananas, converted to cups, what would that be?
Good question. It's about 1 1/3 cups mashed bananas
Sitting here eating it, and I just want to say: It's delicious, thank you so so much❤️
So glad you like it!

Can I use raw sunflower instead of the flaxseed? Thanks
The ground flax has a thickening effect. I don’t think sunflower would do the same

I have found that nut butter really help with the texture of the banana bread with coconut flour
Watch the video
I reccomend using another nut butter. tbe peanut butter was so over powering the bananas. however it was still tasty.
Almond butter

Can I add flax seed powder instead of flax meal? Thank you
I believe they are the same thing. Just the name differs depending on location

If I were to use psyllium husk, how much do I need to put?.
Hello Leila..I don't have lino seed,it's posible change for other ,flour...tapioca,rice??Best wishes from Lima,Perú.I love your book.
I haven't tried making this banana bread without flax. But of course you can try tapioca, or ground chia seeds or psyllium husk
Have you ever made these vegan? If so what did you use in place of the egg?
I have not been successful at replacing the eggs in this recipe. It always comes out too dense and gummy. Sorry
Hi I would like to try this recipe. Can u pls tel me the substitute for eggs
I have not made this bread without eggs. Sorry
Flaxseed eggs maybe?
What ingredient is great in replacement for flax?
Can we use baking soda instead of baking powder? If yes how much?
1 teaspoon of baking powder can be replaced with 1/4 tsp baking soda + 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
I love this! Thanks for sharing..see you around!
Thank you! Cheers!
Why nut butter and coconut oil? Two types of fat? Also, fry flax seed (binding agent) when already have eggs?
My goal with this recipe is to have a good tasting (not too dense) gluten free, dairy free banana bread. Nut butter serves not only as fat here but also gives the loaf structure and flavor. Same with the flax it is not only a binding agent. I've tried to omit it and only use eggs, but the overall texture is too eggy and a bit soggy. The flax meal makes for a more pleasant texture
@@Leelalicious interesting. My usual bb recipe doesn’t call for extra ingredients, turns out very good. I’ll try this one and see the difference

If ur substituting with syrup to sweetened this recipe how many ml??
I would add sweetener to taste. Maybe 60-80 ml
Can we also do the blend them all in the blender like your other video?
Yes that might work just as well. Any add ins should be stirred in by hand though
Instead of coconut oil what else can I replace it with?
any other oil should work
I couldn’t understand if it’s 15 or 50 minutes to bake.
Same.

Can I replace coconut flour with oats flour?
Can i bake this without flax meal ?
Can v use flax meal egg replacement in this recipe??
I have not tried that in this recipe
Hi what is the size of the tin
It's an 8x4-inch pan
I made the banana bread it’s delicious and light 😋
can I use almond flour instead of coconut flour?
I haven't tried. It might work but you probably need double or triple the amount
Any other fruit for making coconut bread ?
Apple sauce, pumpkin puree, grated zucchini all are options

Can you make these into muffins too?
Yes! Just reduce the baking time to about 15-20 minutes
Where did you buy your potatoe masher? I can't find it
That is actually a Tupperware masher from a really long time ago (here it is on in a different color). Any masher or even fork works in this case
Do you have to use a flax meal or is this part optional?
I find the texture is much better with flax meal. Without it the bread seems too wet in the center

I have not tried an egg free version of this recipe. Let me know if you try it though
Hi dear, Is flaxseed same thing as flax meal?
Yes, flax meal is ground up flaxseed

Can I use almond milk instead of coconut oil?
I don't know for sure. But with coconut flour I always have the best results when using some oil in the recipe
