I have to say this is the BEST Suzuki GSX S1000GT+ review I have seen. I am considering this bike, ok I have already placed an order and your review just confirmed it's a great deal. You didn't just ride around you actually rode the bike like a real person. You were even cut off by that van dude- damn! anyway, thanks so much for this review. The camera's are great and yes, please do another review in the summer!! That shift smoothness is insane.
I’ve been on 52 bikes over the last year (bike photographer) and I traded my Indian Scout in for a GSX-S 1000F, which is the predecessor to this bike. It’s one of the best handling bikes I’ve ever ridden, and crazy comfortable. It easily plays in the same room as the BMW S1000 and Aprilia Tuono if you want to be naughty but at £2500-5000 cheaper. Would love to try the GT! I wish it had more grunt down low, but at 8-10k it’s an animal hahaha
That's funny, I'm also a photographer for Indian, and riding hundreds of bikes I still prefer my GSX650F over almost anything! Love the Scout and especially the new Chief. Still sticking with my Suzuki. Needless to say I'm very excited that this new one has hit the market. Might just be the best available at its price point, just like it's predecessors.
Looks great. I'll keep my GSXR750 as long as my late 50s body can tolerate it, but its good to know this is waiting in the wings with more comfort but just as frantic in the upper rev range.

Waiting for mine to come in. Dark blue in the US. I am done with black, so no Ninja for me and I've been on quite a few Kawis. Don't care about IMU etc, never had one. 10 more hp than N1K and hard bags are only $650 more from the factory in the US. $1100 if you add them later. One of the best TFT screens with an analog tach I've seen. No vibrations mentioned from any journalist. How can you go wrong?

Interesting ride thanks Spicy, not seen one in the flesh yet, but I think Suzuki are onto a winner with it - now if only they were to produce a Red one or better still the Ecstar livery?.

I have ordered the new GT+ and of course I wonder how much legroom there is? I'm a tall man myself and am 6.36 ". I have for the sake of order bought extender footrest set from Moto-CNC by 30 mm. extended. You commented that the windscreen hit you in the face. Was it unsightly with wind noise and turbulence, or is it okay to drive with the original windscreen without having to switch to a lower or higher one?
I would rather the wind hit my chest more full on to be honest, as there is no way a screen is going to be tall enough for me to get the wing over. With it hitting at head, I did get a small amount of buffering but not excessive. Then again my helmet may not help this.

Spicy, Suzuki marketing vids claim the mirrors serve as wind deflectors for the grips. Did you find that do any of that (granted it was cold and you wanted heated grips).
On several occasions in this video you used the adjective "leery" (?) to describe something about the character of the bike. This wins over the Ninja1000SX for me because this is a lovely looking thing and Kawasaki's current design is..... well..... um...... the Z900RS is nice but the rest of their stuff looks like a genital wart made sweet love to Optimus Prime.
Not sure what I am supposed to say to that? I review bikes for how I find them, other people's opinions are kinda irrelevant. Also clearly ergonomics is dependent on each rider, are these "others" the same height as me? Because I am taller than 95% of the country so I experience bikes differently from other riders.
Parts of the GT look nice but others not, like the back end where panniers go not so much, switch gear still looks Suzuki cheap, no adjustable screen, add ons rather than pack upgrades like Kawasaki do with the 1000sx, small tank and that engine in the GSXS was thirsty, totally love my 21 plate ninja 1000sx performance sports tourer, but then it has had a few versions to get it to its current model so maybe the GT in a few years will be a fair comparison. Suzuki sadly seems to have gone to the cheap side of the 4 Japanese bikes and in past few years the Kawasaki seems to have risen to the premium of the 4. always had the other 3 for many years but my 1st Kawasaki ever is just head and shoulders above, not quite Ducati finish but not far away. There’s bigger holes in this :) 👍
Bigger engines are more hole than whole!
Great review, you must have been freezing ..
It's lighter than the Ninja 1000SX
It's got more power than the Ninja 1000SX
It has better dash integration than the Ninja 1000SX
But I will still have the Kawasaki all day long
Why?
What one could have if only one had loadsamoney 🙂 fantastic vid spicy 🙂
