Depending upon a test ride, this is my next bike. Enough technology I need, power beyond my skill level but enough to pass a lorry with a twist of the wrist in top gear, and comfortable. I'm smitten with it. I'm fed up with sports bikes hurting my shoulders. Yep, this is just what I need.

Looks a great bike and, have to say, fantastic to see a real world type ride on day two. Its all very well seeing journos and vloggers riding the *rse off new bikes but how you rode on day 2 is the most helpful to me. It does look a complete bike. Shame the panniers and fittings are the best part of a grand and 300+ for the grips but i still want one (*shakes piggy bank). I also think you need to get English Biker Dan along on your tours, would be great content. Thanks for the vid!

Then they see the reg plate and are gobsmacked that it's a 99 bike. One or two said they thought it was a new bike. It's not showroom condition but it's bloody clean looking.
Never had a moment of bother with it either. Only thing needed replacing apart from normal consumables was the brake seals, I did with a kit during the winter of 2019. I'm interested in getting the GSX-S1000 to go alongside the SV in my garage.

Suzuki has a style, one central lighting cluster up front. The Hayabusa and GSXR's all share this style. The V-Stroms also. I like they way they look. Why didn't they stick with that? Seems they tried to make the GT look like an R1.

Cracking looking bike and a great vid Richy. Suzuki have been in the doldrums for a while now but with this and it's naked brother and the new Busa things are looking much better for Suzuki. Maybe we will get a redesigned Katana with a decent sized fuel tank and a new GSXR1000 next which would be awesome. Take care mate and ride safe.

First ride review on my feed Richy been waiting for this since it hit the media. I would love to see the comparison with the Z1000sx as I’m thinking of moving in to this genre from adventure bike. I have no pretence for off road riding, although I love the riding position, so the adventure bike has become a compromise too far and I think I’m longing for some 17” wheel handling again. Maybe sports tourer or Multistrada / S1000xr would suit more. Thanks for another great vid matey 👍🏻

Hi Richy..Solo Black 313 from Detroit, Michigan..U.S.A. Let me say first I have had Suzuki's in the past, and they are awesome bikes, and I think they have hit a home run with the new GSXS 1000GT can't wait till the get to the states, and my local dealership so I can do a test ride. It is just my opinion, but I think Suzuki has taking the lead on the sport/touring market! now that, that was said I will just say it "I'm a HONDA FAN BOY"...I have a 2004 ST1300, and a 2001Honda Shadow ACE750, and next year I looking at getting a VFR800, 2002-2009. It is a shame Honda got out of the sport/touring market, and let Suzuki take over. I'm not into the ADV thing...nothing wrong with theme, just not me, and there are a lot of people that feel like I do. I'm going to wright Honda, and tell them to bring back some kind of sport/tourer, but this time give it some ball, maybe 1500cc, 190bhp170nm, and cruise control!!!...LOL Thanks Richy stay well my friend!

To me the VFR handles better and is a better all around bike, the Suzuki is more complicated and a more modern bike but I think the VFR would win an objective comparason honestly...I'm hoping sport touring comes back and replaces the ADV style bikes.

Looks interesting. Not happy with no heated grips, and the fact that panniers are extra which for a sportstourer is just silly, no centre stand is also bad for a chain drive. Only other issue is specified speed limit for the panniers which is below the max speed on a French motorway - I know we will all ride it above that, but worrying they need to put such a low limit on it. I will be test riding one thought when available, and pleased Suzuki are getting into the Sportstourer market again.

Great so see a proper full fat Sports Tourer from Suzook instead of yet another damn yawn ADV GS clone bike, will give it some serious consideration when I see it in the flesh at my local dealer alongside the Z1000SX. Could probably only be bested by a 🤣Triumph Sprint 1200 GT with the new 180hp Speedie motor :)

a better vehicle and can change everything for the better. best suzuki team I hope that it's not only sport bikes that have better imprufments... and for sure automatic motors must have even better imprufments. in terms of durability and more stable fuel emissions. it would be better to use dual injection for performance
I hope that over time the development of information technology will be better for the future "there is definitely quality and the price never lies to sell or buy this Suzuki product... don't lose to the brand next to the purchase price is good and the selling price is consistent. So that consumers are satisfied with the results. and even greater imprufments....
keep the best for the future

If there's one bike to upgrade from your VFR it's this ! I totally agree its a great looking bike with that colour scheme, looking forward to you getting a long term loan one.

Honda need to bring back the VFR and really open up the sports touring category.
I don't ride a road going motorcycle off-road. So don't need all the extra weight of an adventure bike.

I just hit a deer riding my VFR800 and totaled it. It was a wonderful motorcycle. The engine was a bear to work on, but had so much power and character plus buttery smooth. The NT1100 will have to go far to equal the VFR.

I have a 2020 GSXS-1000f model. The only aspect I was hoping Suzuki would change on the GT is an overdrive 6th gear, alas I don't think my wish was granted. Great bike nonetheless.

    • @RichyVida
      @RichyVida  2 роки тому

You do feel like changing into 7th at 5k revs, but then realise that the bike is totally happy up around 10k (and above)

    • @ronaldthomas9396

I'm glad the gearing is as it is, I don't care for overdrive gearing for motorcycles, I had a 2002 BMW R1150RT and only road it for one year because of the high 6th gear!

@@RichyVida A GT bike is not about a screaming engine at HWY speeds, don't get me wrong I very much enjoy my GSXS-1000f gearing on my Sunday rides and carving corners, but I would not enjoy the way the bike is geared if I were to take a long ride, I tried it once, it gets rather tiresome.

Glad to see a new proper sports tourer.
I'm probably in the minority, but I've never like the styling of the ADV style ones that have become the current trend.
Call me shallow, but a bike should still have some kerb appeal.

Gear level too short for size 11 boot
    No virus stand
    No factory heated grips
    No topbox option
    Needs taller screen
    Quickshift brilliantly smooth
    Engine great
Hearing cruise control issues waiting on recal, from Suzuki

Nice and well done on getting one of the first real world reviews of this bike up. Looks like Suzuki have finally evolved the GSX-S into the sports tourer it could have been with the luggage, and tech. I've always liked Suzuki's and if this had been around a year ago, I'd have got one. I went for the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX instead, still a fine bike.

Looks a great bike, but I can't understand why anyone would market a Sports Tourer without a Top Box!!!
Yamaha did the same with the FJR but eventually one became available.
    People will fit one anyway!

I've ridden the naked version recently and I agree that Suzuki has done a great job with the fuelling on this model! The suspension was very compliant when going slow but seemed to lose its composure at speed, so I'm looking forward to see how this bike handles when cracking on! And yes using that indicator switch is a bit awkward...

    • @RichyVida

A good, honest report, thank you. I'm STUDYIN' this bike... squinting my eye at it vs. the MT-10. I'll bet Yama-mama makes a "GT"-style version next year, 'cause this GT will kick some ass in the showrooms. Me; I think I'll wait ONE MORE YEAR... because this bike is going to bust-down some Sport Touring Doors in Japan, and, well... let's see what's NEXT after this peach. OH... it needs to be REAR RACK (or, top-box, not for me..) capable. I need a RACK.

Looks a stunning bike and lots of positive comments which is good. One of my pet hates on a lot of new bikes is you don't get twin dipped head lights which makes it look better and a lot more visible 🙄
