Very angry Toyota Supra's from SA

I made a little compilation video of the awesome Supra's from a half mile drag event that was held in South Africa on the 22nd of April 2017. The events, that are hosted by Race SA, consists of some of South Africa's fastest street cars.
The fastest Supra in South Africa unfortunately couldn't take part but the one black Supra in the video came very close to dethroning it.

Very nice Seeing the 2j boys in SA doing their thing. Any info on the build. Care broke up badly on the first pull,but got better as the day went by. What was the best speed trapped at on the 800m ?

+speadfreakmax thanks for commenting! Yeah the Supra with the parachute was having issues during the day, it only managed a 164.4mph/264.6kph on the 800m. Not sure what modifications its got but apparently the car makes well over 1000hp. The other black Supra ran a 181.8mph/292.6kph on the 800m.

Thanks for getting back to me. I just went onto the website of performances solutions in CPT and i saw a short clip of the Supra doing a pull. I am up at 1200whp on my Supra and somehow i just don't see that by that clip that i saw, it was hitting that 1xxxhp mark. not cracking down on the team, just stating that perhaps 850-900 range. Been in the 2j game for many years. Being that this is in SA, this shit is NOT cheap. So props to the team nonetheless and hope they can sort things out. I don't know what i Trap with my car as in the states we don't do the the 800m run but my setup would do high to mid 8s in the 1.4 mile ,being on the that i run the manual box and not auto. +speadfreakmax yes unfortunately i cannot confirm the power figures its just what I'v been told. Unfortunately the fastest Supra in SA is being rebuilt after it had a little accident last year. We hope to see it back soon but thr other black Supra in the video came really close to that car's speed. The 800m is like 4.6m short of the half mile so in SA we just consider it to be the half mile mark lol thank you again for commenting! Hope to chat again in a future video :D

Altitude changes is a common problem in South Africa. If they are from CT and go to PTA to race they will have to dyno again. Maybe that could have contributed to the breaking up part. It also sounds like the turbos on all these Supras don't spool completely until around 4th gear. Most ran on slicks so you won't really see wheelspin in 4th too. Difficult to say...
Most of the best builds in SA aren't on UA-cam. Try searching for 011 Street Society, SARaceEvents, Racing Boys, and Liberebil to see some underground builds in South Africa.
