In the UK gambling companies were worried the government was going to start limiting their advertising, so the companies started “voluntarily” focussing a lot of their advertising on the tools they include to “protect” potential gambling addicts. But they are absolutely useless… one slogan is “when the fun stops, stop”. Yeah, because that’s how addiction works 🙄
I will never understand ads that use athletes as singers or actors. The old Coke commercial with Joe Greene is the perfect way to use an athlete to highlight your product.
Ya know I feel like if ads were at least bearable to watch, ad blockers wouldn't be nearly as big as they are I mean people watch the trailers before the movie because they know they might find something worth that time, it'd be the same concept for pre roll ads if the ads were actually good also is the "this is a no flex zone" commercial for planet fitness? that sounds like a planet fitness commercial
Yeah if the ads are entertaining, they sometimes don't even register as "I'm being advertised to." And turns out, No Flex Zone was for Wing Stop of all places.
i work with a lot of people into sports and who just watch tv in general so sometimes i hear about some of these super wack commercials. its interesting sometimes to hear about how bad it is and will always be glad i stopped using tv in 9th grade for youtube. i almost never see any ads due to the copious amount of blocking functions and im in a suburb so display ads are p rare besides bus's and billboards. ads fucking suck and people having to see less of them is a huge step to better mental.

Oh god that's so fucking gross. The equivalent of telling a clinically depressed person to just be happy.

Exactly

It was for Wing Stop?! I never would have guessed them
@@GohLow yeah, thats kinda what you talked about not remembering the product or company. Due to how annoying they are.

I don't mind an ad if it's good, like entertaining. But too many of them are so anti-enjoyment.
