I've been looking through videos on youtube for hours and can't find a single video that tells you how to tie off the seam yarn. Why isn't anyone explaining that?
Omg! First time making a crochet hamburger 🍔 and I was struggling because i made few pieces alone without connecting yarn and since I didn’t know how to sew i was disappointed. But i found you and I’m 1/4 through my sewing process and all thanks to your video sweetheart. 🙏🏽❤
Brilliant - thank you. I went to Hobbycraft and found a nitting needle and thought the gap which the wool should pass through was a little small, so I was cheeky and instead purchased a tapestry needle and it works perfectly 😀
Thank you very much for this tutorial. It is very important lesson. Now I am glad to say that two years ago I didn't know how to crochet. I search UA-cam lessons. First I got your lessons one by one. I learnt it slowly and patiently. Now today I did lot of table runners, bottle covers, soft toys etc. You are my first teacher.🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thank for lot. Now everybody saying my items are very neat and clean. God Bless You.🙋
Ty for sharing. Ive used all 3 methods. Just recently I made ribbed cuffs for a robe & did the invisible stitch with a sc on the wrong side which kept them stretchy but very secure. On the same robe, i used the sc invisible stitch also to keep it stretchy. Both came out wonderful.
Thank you for the tutorial it was very helpful!! I was wondering if you could maybe explain how to tie off the ends of the seam after you finish joining?
You're welcome, I'm glad you've found it helpful 😊 Once you've finished joining you should cut off the end of your yarn, leaving a long tail, and pull it through. You can then sew it in securely as shown in my tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/6qXEcQj_0L0/v-deo.html
Thank you Bella. I am finishing a thread tablecloth and I could not figure out how the original crocheter had joined the motifs. Your Invisible Seam matches the original seaming almost exactly - much closer than any other tutorial I have found. I am now subscribed to your channel.
Tysm! I was rlly looking for this cus I’m making leg warmers with very big yarn (I can’t crochet with small one yet sadly,I started a day ago 😭) and I need to stitch tightest the two pieces of yarn I made: 1 red and 1 white (I’m making Christmas themed ones cause I surely won’t finish it before Halloween). Thanks again!
Hi could you please make a video on how to start and end you work when using a needle to attach pieces of crochet work? how do you knot the end and beginning of when you used the needle, so that your work will stay put and not get undone? Thank you! Your a great teacher :) Marianna
Yes please i second this! I’m having a lot of trouble finding the right place to thread through for my sides. I crocheted columns for a cardigan, so now I’m sewing them into a whole panel, if that makes sense!
I really like the color of your yarns! I am making a crochet vest and I think the mattress stitch fits it. But I am not sure since I am joining raw edges. I am not sure if it works just fine like the top part.
Thank you 😊 You can still use the mattress stitch along the raw edges, but if you prefer you can work a row of double crochet stitches first which will give you a more even base to work into.
Thank you for sharing this. It is nice having the different methods together with great instructions. BTW I just finished a baby blanket with those same colors.
Thank you very much. Which one would you recommend for a throw made of granny squares? Would you say the blanket stitch is the most sturdy? Appreciate it. ☺️
You’re very welcome 😊 You should find that all three of these are sturdy, however if you want to keep the squares nice and tight together you could also try crocheting them or slip stitching them together.
You’re welcome, I’m glad you like it 😊 You could always work a simple border of double crochet stitches (UK terms) before you join; this will make your edges look very neat and even.
Thank you so much Bella for this great tutorial. I am new to crocheting and I would like to know which of these three methods would work best for stitching granny squares together? Thanks again!
You're welcome 😊 They both work equally well; I would have a go at using each method to see which one you prefer as they all give sightly different looks.
Excellent tutorial! I would like to do the mattress seeming on a sweater I just finished and I have one question. Do you lay your pieces right side down?
Great, exactly what I needed. I was looking for a method to seam together two pieces of different colour. Will try this out right away. Thanks for this great tutorial.
Wonderful....thank you so much for sharing, its so helpful seeing all three methods in one great, clear video. And your advice is ace as usual. Thank you again and all the best ❤
I'm glad you've found it helpful 🙂 You should definitely weave in the end securely; if you tie a knot only there's a risk it could come undone and you could lose your entire project.
I was looking for this because I'm making a cardigan. The perfect video, thank you so much!
You're welcome :)
Oml same!
