0:18 you will have noticed that she's not using the felt side of the beater - she's using the plastic side. I do that because I came across a video on the Roland TD17 at one point that they say you have to use a plastic beater.
In this Roland promo video at 1:46 You can see that she uses Tama bass drum pedal and hi-hat stand (maybe Tama HP30 Single Bass Drum Pedal and Tama HH45W hi-hat stand with "The Legend In Innovation" label). Where are the new Roland accessories?
When she starts playing her song you can definitely tell those are not factory sounds from the td17. Only sounds from the td 17 Were at the beginning at the video before she played her song, which was preset 1. So she wasn't even using td17 sounds. Anyone else notice this? I own the td 17 and have spent countless hours tweaking trying to get some decent user kits, so i know the module pretty well.
are you trying to say its fake ?
it was probably from a different roland module.
there are definitely different sounds when she plays the song, but absolutely not fake. you can tweak original sounds a lot, as well as import your own samples

Mightve uploaded her own sample, I love the response from the roland kits but I'm gonna buy this and just hook it up to EZ drummer . Can't stand the robotic sound Roland has but ehhh it is what it is.

Finally looks that roland made good cymbal sounds.
Are the video and the sound properly synchronised?
They reduced the frame rate to give it an edgy look. But when fast movements occur, they tend to look too jagged

its the Prismatic one, the supernatural was the TD30, prismatic was the TD50

I own a drum kit of that kind (that is, the Roland TD-17KVX).
If Anika endorsed them then I'll take 2. I actually have a td15 and a td30. They are overpriced and she is genuinely making them sound good. (Because she can!!!) They don't sound bad but the sound of all that money back in my pocket would sound a lot better.

So from other reviews i have seen it's easily possible to edit the drums sounds in a way that there's almost no machine gun effect anymore (a first for a Roland module). Apprently they didn't bother to do that for their own promo video here. Smh

When will they figure out how to make the toms stop "machine gunning"? I have the TD30 kit and NEVER do a roll down the toms bc it machine guns. The snare doesn't machine gun.
I think I'm about to buy this particular kit, but I have no idea what you mean by this "machine gun" problem. Could you explain or show me a video of someone demonstrating it?
@@FBracht it's a problem unique to electronic drums. it seems like they've figured out how to eliminate/lessen it on e-snares but some toms on some e-kits still machine gun. Here's a vid about machine gunning on e-snares. I have the Roland TD30 and as awsum as it is, a roll down the toms still does not sound natural to me. For this reasonwhen I use them in fills , i rarely do a tom roll.

ua-cam.com/video/tOjouaHDzcg/v-deo.html watch at 3:20 for another explanation. As far as examples go, i would say to watch any professional product reviews on e-kits and if they do multiple fast hits on a tom you might be able to hear it. Sometimes it's subtle and some kits are better than others
ua-cam.com/video/ZywzpVYeFdw/v-deo.html watch at about 1:32. i'm not saying they sound bad but whereas almost everything else might be able to full a person into thinking it was an acoustic kit, the toms are usually a dead giveaway. Pay attention to the 2nd tom after he plays the softer notes, which sound quite good. the louder hits sound like it's all the same sample because the strength of his hit is probably triggering the exact same sample instead of multiple samples of the same drum. Those toms do sound good though, but i still would not do a roll down the toms
why the switch to the MDS-Compact on the TD-17KVX?

the TD- 25K does not have blue tooth. This one does.

I think that if a professional percussionist such as Anika Nilles can perform that good with such a "cheap" E-kit in comparison to what you can buy today,
I bet a normally experienced percussionist can perform quite well too with loads of practice on such an E-kit. :)

How do we update the firmware roland sight says to upload the drivers to an SD card. My computer doesn't even have a cd drive let alone an sd slot.

I love and hate Roland. This is a great kit for the price and you brought back the ability to split the sounds on the pads (I hope I can split them into two pads) but you still utilize too much digital effects that ruin the acoustic samples because the Jarrah and Bubinga kits sound nothing like the real thing. Plus you still refuse to fix the machine gun effect on toms and bass when playing fast. It’s 2018 and not expensive to fix.
Bluetooth awesome, sampling OK but still one shot waves and no multi layering. I know you can use internal sounds but if really listened to drummers they don't like the sounds which is why people are using Superior Drummer and Steven Slate VST.
Robert L makes sense most if the comments here are about the tone of the toms. It makes me not want to buy it.
So what’s the difference between the TD11 / TD17 and the TD25???
td 11 kv is completely obsolete after td 17 kv came. Td 17 kv has useful bigger toms but it is in the same price range with td -11 kv. You don't need to buy that expensive td 25 kv, to have good sized toms anymore. Roland has filled a big gap in drumming world. Good job.

Love what she is doing with her makeup here, not that she needs it though. Stunning!!
The mix wasn't great. The snare completely dominated the kit. The Ride cymbal sounded like she was hitting a piece of plastic.
Roland needs to work on the sound.
That snare sounds blocky, triggery. Does not translate.
You must dedicate a few hours to edit the module to make it sound good. Out of the box it sounds like shit. And they made her play it out of the fucking box.
I think someone filming is tell her to smile more. Her smile looks forced.
She plays here only for a rate so I simply can't do believe that forced fake face feeling .

Right. She's one of the best drummers out there. Check some of her videos. If you can't get over the fact that she's female and better than you ever will be, that's pretty sad.
