I see that you're using reflective bracelets / wristbands. That's always a good idea to use in Norway (especially during the winter with constant darkness) How common is it to use reflective apparel in the states? Just curious to see if it's mostly a Scandinavian thing.
Yes, if you're lucky you don't get selected to have your exams in your first year of VGS. However, the second year you either have to have an oral or a written exam in one of the subjects you're finishing. And in the last year, you have 4 exams. Three written and one oral. One of the written exams is Norwegian, and you get randomly selected in the rest, you can get selected in New-Norwegian for written but not in oral. It depends. I had my written exams in R2, Chem2 and Norwegian :)
Your school looks so nice compared to the one I go to in Ireland haha. Can’t wait to go to Norway now🇳🇴 Jumping into the snow looks awesome and the thanksgiving dinner looked sooo yummyyy😻 Love your vlogs as always!! 💖❤️Sending love x
Panala I’m actually not sure yet unfortunately. I’ve been really sick and pretty much bedbound for just over a year so I haven’t been able to apply for an exchange yet. I might have to wait and do a college exchange instead depending on my recovery. But the idea that I’ll be going to Norway when I’m better keep me motivated! Thanks for asking :)
VG1 is always pretty easy so the transition from lower secondary school (Ungdomskole) to higher secondary school (Videregående skole) isn't too scary and brutal for the students.
i loove your channel sooo much, and in one of your videos you talked about how you could change your content a little bit. obviously the video you make are sooooo god and you should still make this kind of videos. But here are some other videos we would love to see from you:) - school morning routine - school night routine - week vlogs - my school outfits this week - hauls from shopping Lykke til videre og håper dette året blir helt fantastisk for deg i Norge:)
No. There are tests at the start to see how good you are in English, Math and Norwegian. Thankfully they don't matter, and only exist to give your teacher an impression of how good you are at those subjects. They don't matter for your final grade, at all.
Hi! Could I ask you some questions ? 1. Do you get often homework? A lot of it? 2. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most open-minded, how would you rate teenagers when seeing a new student? 3. Do everyone speak english? Or only norwegian 4. And very special question, but do teenagers drink alcohol? Like at partys or something? Do their parent give them alcohol?
Cta2006 oh...um..I expected a more human answer, but okay. And even of the law forbid it young teen drink alcohol but I wanted to know of that’s part of the Norwegian culture or not
I'm not the one you asked but I answer some of your questions. 3. I would say that every teenager and up can speak English good enough to make them understood. How good they are depends on how frequently they are using it. 4. The drinking culture is very different from place to place, so it's not a easy question to answering. I would in general say that of the ones that do start drinking, when we are 14-15 year old about 30% are trying alcohol. 16-17 probably 70% and above 18 most teens have at least tried. (18yo old is the legal limit for beer and wine, 20 for stronger alcohol). About parents giving them alcohol this varies a lot. Some do when their 16-17 years old, but most don't
1) it depends a lot on the school, but not much in my experience. 2) Will vary, but likely a new (especially an exchange student) student will be exciting and accepted. You might have to start conversations because culturally they keep to themselves. 3) Basically everyone speaks English and younger people speak it very well. 4) Drinking culture also varies a bit by where (generally in rural areas people start drinking earlier), Norwegians drink a lot when they drink and some do get alcohol from parents but it’s not the norm.
At default we speak norwegian ALL the time. But if we are with or meet someone who can't understand it, it's not a problem for us to speak English. Younger people are better than older. But pretty much anyone below the age of 70, will be able to communicate to some degree in english.
Math for stupid ones? That’s a bit mean to say..... Don’t make anyone «feel stupid» just because they need to take a easier mathclass..... So judgemetal, and many young people might be very upset by hearing things like this... 😔 I just feel for those who might feel sad about hearing things like this, so i just had to say this.....❤️ If anyone is taking a «easy class» out there, you are NOT stupid at all, allways remember that!❤️🥰
Cookie I understand irony, but i feel for those who might feel hurt by this... No need to be mean to me, i just tried to feel for those who might felt hurt by this...

the change of weather from arizona to norway must be crazy!

It's pretty common. People use reflective apparel when biking on the road or walking in the dark so that they don't get hit by cars or whatever.

lol the older side of the school reminds of my old high school in northern Finland, it's very similar.
