I got introduced to Fallout in an interesting way, I was in elementary school at the time, and one of my buddies was selling a game for $20. He was nice enough to let me try it 1st before buying, i wasn't ready for it to completely change my gaming experience. Fallout 3 Changed me in a way where I was introduced to more dark stories and free reign of what I wanted to do, I never had that before. I will never forget that first week of playing that game. It absolutely consumed me. Having a new interest in music that I have never heard of. Adventuring and wandering around the capital wasteland and its surrounding locations alone and what felt like everyone and everything was trying to kill you. I never had a game that resonated in me so much. It made me think more of the consequences of my actions and not only in the game but in real life to. That every decision that you make can alter something so drastically to the point where It will lead to the disaster or will bite you in the ass later on lol. Every time when I hear that opening theme song of Fallout 3. Something just feels nostalgic in me like I was there, I experienced it. I truly felt like the lone wanderer and im remembering of The suffering, the hardships, the decisions that I had to make. Suffice it to say I gave my buddy the next day that $20. Best deal I ever made as a kid lol.

Thanks to how a teacher of mine in hs shared with me about the series, and the neat vault boy character and mainly music of the series caught MUCH of my attention. Then I see the lore videos and the opening to my first curios question: "which one was fallout 1?" Rest is my history. Even when I took a break from fallout, it warmed my heart so much from me seeing how EASILY and even eager I got back into it. Remember pal. War (and humans) never changes. Once a wastelander. Fallout 3 was a game I watched my dad play for endless nights, then one day I turned 14 (2013) and it was my time to play, I got New Vegas for my birthday and lost myself. Joined many RP groups as a teen too, but over the years grew out of it due to life/work/relationships. Not to mention, Fallout 3 helped my dad with his PTSD healing process. I always remember him doing his best to help everyone, claiming it's not enough but it's a start to healing the guilt he carries from the wrongs he made in the service. If any Fallout character is the closest to a real life person, it's Nate the Rake and my dad. Men, who in their past lives did wrong, but do their best to do better in the now.
for some reason the "classical radio signal lost" always got me. It isn't a lot, but it lets you know that you really just did that, you finished the game, it's all finally over.
No matter which game you started on, for me it was New Vegas, we are all equally part of this universe and our Couriers, our Lone Wanderers, our Chosen Ones, our Vault Dwellers, our 76ers, and our Sole Survivors all hold a special place in our hearts. For as toxic as the fanbase can be, remember that the one thing we can all collectively proclaim, it is our fascination with these games and the memories we all have.
I've always wanted to call the people in Fallout 76 "The Pilgrims", seeing how early they are in the timeline (if I'm not mistaken) and seeing what they did to make *some* civilization out of the vaults.
The first fallout I've played is new vegas to but I got stuck in prim and couldn't go into the buildings and gave up then about a year later played three, so the lone wanderer is definitely "my" fallout character

I remember when I was in highschool, I saw a trailer for Fallout 3 and didn't think much of it. I had fallout shelter on my phone from 2018 or so but never had a vested interest in the series until the show released. Now I’ve watched the show and I’m playing all the way through fallout 4 and 76. Fallout is now one of my favourite franchises
I know often times there’s talk of “oh this game was the best, oh Bethesda this, etc.” but generally I absolutely adore this series and each individual thing published has so much in it.
Even though i missed the car community in the early 1990s-2010s, i still got to grow up in the digital age where i had NFS underground 1 & 2, NFSMW 2005, and the entire fallout franchise starting with my grandpa showing me fallout 3 and i never saw a game so perfect for my taste. I remember standing next to him, being amazed by how he could pick things up and talk to NPC's. I was next to him when he went to the super duper market and killed all the raiders.
I remember playing fallout for the first time in 1998 when my dad bought it for me then I was 7. I remember playing fallout 2 and 3. Fallout 4 was a great experience. New Vegas was great and 76 is fine.
I remember saving every penny from lunch so I could buy Fallout 4 and although I didn't grow up with the first games, the series always has a special place for me.

Ive played over 1,150 hours of fallout 4 it was my first fallout game and idc for the judgement I receive for this... Its comforting, and like a second home, its not my favorite game but its one of them, I've made a lot of memories with it, and now im playing Fallout 76 with my woman, her sister, and my two best friends... It's a feeling I don't know how to express perfectly, but i know it's one ill die remembering, i can forsee a fallout resurgence coming very soon, with the show, the 4 update, the new vegas love, and the 76 player base booming with new players ( including me) Ad victorian brothers, for the commonwealth, and remember the house always wins.... For all the faults anyone could ever hold against these games, no one and i mean no one, can deny the impact these games have had on the hearts, the minds, and the days of every fallout's millions of players. Whatever awaits next for fallout, whether atomic annihation, decay into irrelevance, or a new golden Era..... I am proud. Proud to have played these stories, proud to have funded the juggernaut responsible for the games as we see them now...proud, no matter how small my part, to have been the vault dweller, the chosen one, the warrior, the lone wanderer, the courier, the sole survivor, the initiate. For me, for whatever awaits for us all as the franchise lives or dies...... I'll see you all on the other side of it all. I remember when I was younger, I just got my first Xbox it was the 360 and I was scared 😨 for shooters and stuff but I took a dive and ended up buying Fallout New Vegas, it was one sale and I wanted to try something new, and I didn’t like it lol 😂 I was to young to understand the story and didn’t want to, but I remember that intro, waking up in doc’s house, and it would occasionally pop back in my head until I was about 12 or 13 and started to play again, and as I played, I got more invested, I dived into a world of political differences, a world in shambles but still fighting to hold on, and as I aged I continued to think about it and as I got more and more into fallout, it brought me to the one I love, someone who I now gladly call my girlfriend, best friend and god willing one day my wife, and we bonded over the game being able to bounce ideas from each other and be happy nerds, in a world full of chaos, Humor and far fetched ideas of the future, it some how seems more comforting than the days we live in now, but idk this is just a young guy talking, I’m not old, I don’t have life figured out, no one does but, I’m glad I did by this game, and the many others that came before and after it

I respect your opinion but don't agree entirely. Even though fallout 76 isn't the best in the fallout series I really enjoyed the story and how it progressed over the years!
The 1st two games were buggy as hell so it's a weak argument. We all have our own first exposures to Fallout (lol). I love all the games. 3 is alright. NV is phenomenal despite bugs. 4 is awesome except the settlements and the Minutemen. Fallout 76 has improved since launch and is very fun to play with friends. In all honesty Interplay would've ruined Fallout eventually. If you haven't read about Project Van Buren I suggest you should. I will always appreciate what Interplay did when it comes to Fallout 1 and 2. I certainly don't agree what Bethesda has done with the franchise in some areas but they have given the franchise a longevity and widespread appeal. Without them Fallout would still be a cult following at best. But hey, we got Wasteland 2 and 3!
@@Andermander429 FO3 is amazing in comparison to 4 and 76. I still don't see why people put FNV on a higher pedestal besides perhaps mob mentality. Interplay would've ruined it eventually, yes, as anyone would and as Bethesda already has. FO4's story was FO3 with the roles reversed, and it was heavily censored compared to the past games. I still love it though, it was my first exposure. The release of 76 was so disastrous, it's almost like Bethesda reenacted the great war on the series itself. The improvements since launch have been less than bare minimum, for the most part the only changes are additions to the game as a desperate attempt to squeeze more money out of it. I agree with your general point, but Bethesda has made themselves very hard to defend, and saying "longevity and widespread appeal" is a stretch. I love all the games, and I still enjoy 76 from time to time, but Bethesda is the one that crashed the series into the ground.
I guess you kinda miss the whole stories within these games.. For lots of people the games are more then just games to them. Take RDR2 for example, it is a game sure but the story within that game makes you feel you are playing within a movie. Also just being kinda rude for no reason isn't a good to treat people that just try to make other people smile 🙂

I know often times there’s talk of “oh this game was the best, oh Bethesda this, etc.” but generally I absolutely adore this series and each individual thing published has so much in it.

Even though i missed the car community in the early 1990s-2010s, i still got to grow up in the digital age where i had NFS underground 1 & 2, NFSMW 2005, and the entire fallout franchise starting with my grandpa showing me fallout 3 and i never saw a game so perfect for my taste. I remember standing next to him, being amazed by how he could pick things up and talk to NPC's. I was next to him when he went to the super duper market and killed all the raiders.

I remember playing fallout for the first time in 1998 when my dad bought it for me then I was 7. I remember playing fallout 2 and 3. Fallout 4 was a great experience. New Vegas was great and 76 is fine.
I started with Fallout 1 and 2, the OG fallout.
I remember saving every penny from lunch so I could buy Fallout 4 and although I didn't grow up with the first games, the series always has a special place for me.

Ive played over 1,150 hours of fallout 4 it was my first fallout game and idc for the judgement I receive for this... Its comforting, and like a second home, its not my favorite game but its one of them, I've made a lot of memories with it, and now im playing Fallout 76 with my woman, her sister, and my two best friends... It's a feeling I don't know how to express perfectly, but i know it's one ill die remembering, i can forsee a fallout resurgence coming very soon, with the show, the 4 update, the new vegas love, and the 76 player base booming with new players ( including me) Ad victorian brothers, for the commonwealth, and remember the house always wins.... Shit hes still winning 😬

Whatever awaits next for fallout, whether atomic annihation, decay into irrelevance, or a new golden Era..... I am proud. Proud to have played these stories, proud to have funded the juggernaut responsible for the games as we see them now...proud, no matter how small my part, to have been the vault dweller, the chosen one, the warrior, the lone wanderer, the courier, the sole survivor, the initiate. For me, for whatever awaits for us all as the franchise lives or dies...... I'll see you all on the other side of it all. Remember these memories fondly, you can only experience them for the first time once.

I remember when I was younger, I just got my first Xbox it was the 360 and I was scared 😨 for shooters and stuff but I took a dive and ended up buying Fallout New Vegas, it was one sale and I wanted to try something new, and I didn’t like it lol 😂 I was to young to understand the story and didn’t want to, but I remember that intro, waking up in doc’s house, and it would occasionally pop back in my head until I was about 12 or 13 and started to play again, and as I played, I got more invested, I dived into a world of political differences, a world in shambles but still fighting to hold on, and as I aged I continued to think about it and as I got more and more into fallout, it brought me to the one I love, someone who I now gladly call my girlfriend, best friend and god willing one day my wife, and we bonded over the game being able to bounce ideas from each other and be happy nerds, in a world full of chaos, Humor and far fetched ideas of the future, it some how seems more comforting than the days we live in now, but idk this is just a young guy talking, I’m not old, I don’t have life figured out, no one does but, I’m glad I did by this game, and the many others that came before and after it

Bugthesda fallouts are not just games, they are bad games
The 1st two games were buggy as hell so it's a weak argument. We all have our own first exposures to Fallout (lol). I love all the games. 3 is alright. NV is phenomenal despite bugs. 4 is awesome except the settlements and the Minutemen. Fallout 76 has improved since launch and is very fun to play with friends. In all honesty Interplay would've ruined Fallout eventually. If you haven't read about Project Van Buren I suggest you should. I will always appreciate what Interplay did when it comes to Fallout 1 and 2. I certainly don't agree what Bethesda has done with the franchise in some areas but they have given the franchise a longevity and widespread appeal. Without them Fallout would still be a cult following at best. But hey, we got Wasteland 2 and 3!
@@Andermander429 FO3 is amazing in comparison to 4 and 76. I still don't see why people put FNV on a higher pedestal besides perhaps mob mentality. Interplay would've ruined it eventually, yes, as anyone would and as Bethesda already has. FO4's story was FO3 with the roles reversed, and it was heavily censored compared to the past games. I still love it though, it was my first exposure. The release of 76 was so disastrous, it's almost like Bethesda reenacted the great war on the series itself. The improvements since launch have been less than bare minimum, for the most part the only changes are additions to the game as a desperate attempt to squeeze more money out of it. I agree with your general point, but Bethesda has made themselves very hard to defend, and saying "longevity and widespread appeal" is a stretch. I love all the games, and I still enjoy 76 from time to time, but Bethesda is the one that crashed the series into the ground.

I guess you kinda miss the whole stories within these games.. For lots of people the games are more then just games to them. Take RDR2 for example, it is a game sure but the story within that game makes you feel you are playing within a movie. Also just being kinda rude for no reason isn't a good to treat people that just try to make other people smile 🙂
