Solo Day Paddle to Cemetery Island:
Come along on a beautiful summer day as I journey across the water for an easy day paddle to the famous Cemetery Island (Ghost Island / Ghost Beach) on Lake Hartwell. Just a 1 mile, 30 minute kayak paddle from the Townville Boat ramp in Townville, SC. See amazing 4k drone video of the lake and island. Detailed info provided on the put-in as well as exploration of the island itself with POV walk through of the historic Harris Family Cemetery which was once the hilltop graveyard of Harrisburg Plantation long before the lake was made. Some say the island is haunted, and though I spent a couple hours on “Ghost Beach”, no specters were sighted. Some people camp on Cemetery Island and Ghost beach, but I think being there at night would definitely be pretty spooky!
This is also my maiden voyage in my new Wilderness Systems Aspire 10 foot kayak.
