At some circuits there are operators that offer passenger laps in race cars, maybe not a modern gt3 car but something older like an older Porsche Cup Car. Keep your eyes out, those companies do exist. Even older race cars have incredible braking and are a great experience to be in. There's a video of me being in a Cup car on my channel, that's a track in New Zealand (Highlands Park on the South Island).

Having driven an Audi R8 LMGT car and being instructed in it by the current race driver I can agree the braking forces are like nothing else you have ever experienced in a race car and stanbds out as the msot impressive part, you can stand on the pedal as hard as you possibly can and it still wants to brake more lol. Awesome video

600hp and 1300kg might not sound that crazy, but this thing is running flat out almost all the time like it's nothing. It's just easy to kind of forget most of us do cooldowns and stuff at track days, lapping the ring, etc, these things just get hammered and work
After just watching Shmee's Taycan laps, It felt like the GT3 was sluggish out of the turns. It does rocket into the turns, but then has to deal with gear changes. Downshifts seemed slow. I wonder if there is some assist.
Definitely not slow lol. The pick up in these cars are actually quick, maybe doesn’t seem so watching through GoPros, and they do have adjustable Traction control & ABS. The only time pick up gets a little slow after turns, is when it’s raining, traction control set high & when it activates to fight the slip :)
That's a pretty short, tight and slow circuit only reaching 240 km/h. My HyperMotard did 230 at Sepang and the Superbikes are pushing 300. The MotoGP bikes are close to 340, though I suppose that's like comparing to F1.300

Clutch pedal is only from Neutral to 1st gear, and yep he matches rev during downshifts. Although I believe not all drivers do that, or they don’t do it all the time. Only during hard quick braking. I might be wrong on the second point though👍🏽

I know the aero makes a massive difference… but how much? I’d love to see this with full aero on 3 laps and then remove them all and do another 3 laps to see the difference. 👍🏼
That looked terrifying, some of the lines were questionable as the understeering showed but all in all, a very nice setup... It's a shame Tim wasn't there...:)
Was the speedometer off? It seemed shooter than it should be. He was going like 60 kph around some of the tighter turns, and only 240 at the straight. 30 mph and 145 mph. Seems like it should have hit more than that. Or was he holding back more?
Can you tell me how many Gs the car has on braking? I drove a formula Student racecar and i managed to brake with 1,6Gs. Would be interesting for me to know
@@AmbientMike Yeah but on the Apex fleet they are also running semi slicks, but yeah probably full on slicks does make a huge different in braking also
@@lucase3047 as Misha himself said, huge difference not just between semi slicks but the compound. Apex semis are prob designed to go alot further than 1 GT stint. Doesnt matter the road car really, racecars are built for one thing. To go fast, and thus stop fast.

So it has a clutch pedal and the driver heel toes at downshifts?

It is a naturally aspirated engine. There are no turbos.

Race brakes and race tires are a completely different breed. Aero will also help to some degree.
