I remember when i was 7 years old and this game came out, so my dad bought it to me, but our old pc could not run it properly. it was a kind of a sad but short moment. My dad decided to buy a brand new pc so we could play it, when i saw the first cutscene i was so excited and hugged my dad.. one of my best memories right there!!!

SuperMrBentley i know that feeling! Got it when I played red alert 2 again after years, played with my brother when we were 12 and 10 years later I downloaded it and the memories were so good. And even this game we used to play and seeing it again wow!

Tech changed really fast in 2000. Most pc's didn't even have a video card back then. Buying a new pc with a video card isn't unreasonable.
This game was way better than it was given credit for.
I really love the game and was surprised years later this game was panned.
I remember playing a demo of this game on my computer as a kid over and over again. I loved the hell out of it.
Ugh the nostalgia!!! My little brother, big sister and I used to play this together. We all used to cozy up in front of our windows 98 pc screen and take turns playing the game. I miss the late 90’s early 2000’s so much.

Man this was my SHIT back in 99. I had everything figured out to the letter. Knew where all the hidden paths were, knew exactly how much was needed to blow up a tank, everything.
It was such a sweet game!

I can't believe this is the same game, the graphics are great (compared to the PS1 version)!

@@reignman40boozer5 How did you make this game run well on Windows 10 64bit? I am trying to play it on Windows 8.1 64 bit and although it starts, there is extreme lag in the menu and gameplay. Using dgVoodoo too, and it still lagging.

I've had the demo of this and I've played it like 100 times and the podracer game too. I can still remember the pc config I've had back in those days: Pentium ll 350 mhz processor, Diamond Viper 550 vga card wich was basically a riva tnt gpu with 16 mb of vram, Asus p2b motherboard, 128mb sdram, and a quantum 8gb hdd. This config was a killer back then.

Quigon deflecting laser bullets backwards is hilarious and badass at the same time. Now I want to see this in a movie

My dad brought me this game as a kid and I was like "Dad I think theyre gonna turn this into a movie!" not knowing not much later the movie would come out in my country.
My dad didnt believe me, but I was all kinds of hyped to see what I just played happen on the big screen.
Still funny to see Quigon face the wrong way while deflecting blaster shots. He also doesnt seem to know that a big round surface with a hand on it is a switch. Derp!
I remember Qui Gon being a dick when you get into the ventilation system and he jumps over that hole and you have to take a long detour alone LOL
As a kid I thought you had to make the jump so I kept trying to jump over and over again haha.
I too was obsessed with this game in the late 90s and still have a copy- I fooled around so much with this game and yes, you actually CAN make the jump over that hole but it is EXTREMELY difficult and I've only managed to do it 2 or 3 times.

It's possible to get over it! It's hard on PC, but doable. When I did it as a kid I stood there amazed. Bad news is: you can't do anything after you get over the hole.

Yep!! I always used to try to jump it. Not realizing that you are forced to fall down

19 years ago in 2000, my brother Kyle and I used to play that demo! We were kids!
I got that demo free with a bottle of Pepsi.
This game is a classic to anyone who played it, back then. Star Wars: Obi-Wan for Xbox is the best Phantom Menace game, though. The only place where the TPM game trumps the Obi-Wan game is the Qui-Gon levels.

Did anyone else discover the cheat on PS1 where you die, load your saved game, quit, start new game and then load your save game again. It gives you some 5000 shots for your blasters and a dozen hand grenades.
Classic. I never knew was was going on but somehow i would still get to the next level
I loved the voice actors in this for Obi and Qui.
To watch someone play this game with ease, when I know it took my 5 year old ass weeks to even get off the ship and down to naboo only to get stuck again for eternity, never to complete the game lol
I really liked this game a lot, together with Jedi Power Battles also for the PS1. Buying new games back then was such a thrill.
i remember playing this on the demo disk that pepsi max had as promotion for a while. i still didn't know completely what demos were, so i spent months trying to figure out a way to get to level 2. aka try not to die and get crushed by the ship you get descended to
i actually had a dream about the end of the game during that time... and let me just say, that was WAY better than what the game actually did

My neighbor had this game but said they never got it to run on their pc. We tried it at my house and played most of it. Later that summer (2000) I found the game and strategy guide on sale at Software ect. $20 for the game and $10 for the guide. Last one on the shelf! I still have the big box and guide to this day.
10 times better than the ps5 release
I was 6 years old and was so addicted to it and was good at it. Games back then had alot more thought into strategy and puzzle solving. I guess it makes up for lack of better graphics that new generation of gaming has now. But these games impacted my childhood and made me who I am today.
Yeah BF2 is fun, yeah ROTS the game is fun but this game has a special place in my childhood

I played this game on a shitty computer that lagged so much, I honestly don't know how I finished it. this was years ago, and my dad bought me a new computer because I did well in school. this game is so nostalgic for me.
man, this was probably the first PC game i loved..back when i had my first PC and was just discovering the internet..and all the excitement with the first star wars movie in years..i always thought if you took jar jar out of the equation..phantom menace wasnt that bad of a movie..
I own this game and it's still INSIDE it's original box. I got it as a christmas gift from my godfather, but i remeber noticing that my PC was NEVER going to run it, so I threw it inside of drawer, with other games, and left it there for ages. It's still in that drawyer, and has never been opened till today.
it's a licensed video game that got mixed reception at release. there's a chance it might not be worth much.

The first PC I got was in 1999. I remember getting this on a demo version from a magazine. It had the whole of the 1st level if I remember well.

I remember when I was really young probably 6 and watched my brother play this at his side the whole playtrough, he didnt let me play sometimes, but I enjoyed watching him cuz I was too noob those days. when I got the chance to play it myself in 2019 I shocked bc of the graphics bc it was RLLY BAD but at that time for my young eyes were gold graphics.

the droidekas have weaknesses ..... in the first level, the droid that protects the door of the Viceroy with a thermal detonator explodes ... then there are other points where it is vulnerable .... in close combat the sword deactivates its deflector shield ... when they are spinning they do not have shields and are easily exposed to blasters .... three points to the disadvantage, 1) close combat 2) heavy armament (detonators, grenades, missile launchers and rapid repeating cannons) 3) while rotating..... The crates where the other Viceroy (Rune Haako) is doing, they fall apart and contain a detonator and a complete healing!
Man, this game looks so much better on PC! On the PS1, you couldn't even recognize their faces! :D

I have no idea why I love this game so much. Played the hell out of it as a kid. It's better than the movie that was massively disappointing. The game had some neat ideas in it. Some of them aren't executed as good and it definitely shows with age, but I liked it and still do. The Mos Eisley level is my favorite. It really feels like you're exploring some alien planet and learning your way around (or you can just go murder everyone for fun)
