This video made me feel like I was in culinary school! Thank you Chef for not only showing and telling us how to make the cake, but explaining why each step is important to the success of the cake. I'm feeling so confident, I want to go to the kitchen right now and pull out the mixer! My great-grandmother used an eight oz aluminum measuring cup with the measurements embossed on the sides. It had dents and the handle broke off, but she still used it! She used that cup to measure everything! She was an excellent cook, known for her fluffy light biscuits. Wish I had that cup today! Love your saying, "work with what you got."
Happy Sunday Uncle Charles! I pray all is well. I wanted to ask you if one day you could do an Apple Fritter video? Since it’s Fall now, that would make a wonderful treat - for breakfast with coffee or actually for anytime. By the way, the cake looks delicious as always 😊👍🏽
That is a beautiful cake. My mother would use the glass measuring cups, too. And, I would always lick the bowl. The raw eggs never bothered me. The good ol days. I do miss my Mama's cooking. Thank you for your video.
The thing is, as informative and precise as Chef Charles makes this video, I still will manage to mess this up. Cake of any kind and specifically chocolate chip cookies are something I cannot make no matter how clear the instructions are lol the tutorials are always fun to watch though. Still might end up giving this a try. I will get it right one day.
@@EverythingSweetbyCharles Alright now Chef Charles. You gonna mess around here and get me a husband baking these cakes! 🎂 🤣Thanks for sharing. I've subscribed.
Thank you for your videos Mr Charles for your talents baking different kinds of foods and desserts have you ever thought of baking and putting your desserts orders online for customers to order and purchase
Nobody EVER mentions the beating process and the amount of time involved. I noticed that in a Cheesecake video. The first thing the Chef did was beat the cream cheese and ingredients. He did everything else around that cream cheese beating which could have been seven to ten minutes maybe more - but never mentioned the importance of beating the ingredients. As you stated, the creaming process. Some Charcoal capsules will absorb and eliminate all that gas! Thank you, Chef Charles, my favorite Baker 🥰
Hello from the uk, I really want to go through all your lovely cake recipes. Can someone help me with the measurements. What is a cup equal to in weight, as we work on ounces over here for dry ingredients and I don’t want to mess the cake up, I’m scared I might use the wrong amount of everything. Your cakes look amazing
Hello chef Charles, you’ve encouraged me to start baking again, I’m enjoying doing so. I’m from Mississippi and Alabama so thanks for making me feel like I’m home again because I no longer live there, where people are just themselves and down to earth stay that way. Agape love ❤️
Oh my friend of mine taught me how to make 7UP pound cake years ago back in the early nineties and it always turned out delicious nice and fluffy but I don't think you could top yours you are one of the best bakers that I've seen❤ thank you so much for sharing your delicious cake recipes Mr Charles and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family
The cake looks great. I've never seen that style of cake pan before. When you use the different center tube cake pans, is it mostly for looks and presentation, or is the style of cake pan necessary for heat distribution when it bakes a particular cake recipe?
Thank you for your recipe. The same as my grandma's. No baking powder. I thought I just forgot to write it down, when all the recipes I saw called for it. Most delicious. You give the lowdown on why and why not.
You just explained why my pound cake isn't as high, because my pan is too big. You're so right, a pound is a pound. Makes so much sense. I'm laughing now. When I was taking cooking in junior high sixty years ago, our teacher used the measuring cup for liquid for dry and wet. Thank you for your explanations. Do you sift your flour?
Thank you so much For making my request. I really think you should make a dessert cook book of all these wonderful recipes so we can pass down to our loved ones. Add all your UA-cam recipes in the dessert cook book to Keeping my fingers crossed for that Dessert Bible cook book
Good Everything, Chef Charles! Question: What brand of extracts do you use? I need a stronger vanilla and lemon extract that will be strong and won’t “cook out” as the cake is baking. Let me know what brand you use. Please and thank you.
I make this cake often I love it!! I made it and for some reason, my cake didn't rise. So, I threw the cake away and made another one the next day and the same thing happened!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong because I haven't changed anything about the recipe!!
I couldn’t figure out what size Bundt pan I had. I must have a 10 cup and not a 12 cup because it overflowed probably 2 cups of batter. It hasn’t finished yet but I will let you know if I had to start over again.
The easiest way to see what size your bundt cake pan is get 10 cups of water and put in there if it comes to the top and that's a 10 cup hope that helps
The cooking show itself nice and sometimes the video shows halfway of your body from the waist down. Please tell Mr Sir what restaurant you work in so that I can enjoy the foods there. Sincerely yours Tyrone Ambrose

One cup equals 4.5 ounces. You can Google the conversions.
It is best to use American standard equipment for your baking when cooking in American standard recipes.

The zest, vanilla, and butter/extract probably put this cake over the top! What a beautiful bundt mold also.

I'm new here y'all and got a lot of catching up to do! In the meantime, Charles you got any mean peach cobbler or Apple pie recipes?
Can the lemon zest be substituted? I don’t think I did the zest correct because I can taste the bits. It’s a texture thing for me. Thanks Mr. Charles.
Thank you so much

Hi Charles
I'm looking for a good recipe for Hot water cornbread please.
I love my Sweet Sweets, but I try to watch it 😁💜

Can you use a hand mixer and get the same results?
Yes you can I didn't always have a stand mixer

Hi Charles, Whats your favourite cheesecake you have made. I'm torn to chose which one to make 😂
Ahhh it’s ok I got it now

Mr.Charles I want to take 2 slices of cake and 🍨 to make a cakewick sandwich 😊
I don't like the wick part 🥴
I use the scraper paddle attachment whenever I make pound cakes.
Nice recipe btw.
I have one question who taught You how to cook😂😂😂
He definitely has classified information don’t he😂😂😂😂😂
