@@rickewilde I don't get Hamilton. It doesn't seem to be anything special. But I'm not American, so I don't have the patriotic feeling you may have with the brand.
Kudos for including Seiko, Orient, Hamilton and Bulova. History + Quality + Value. Perfect formula for collectors on a budget. Hugo's tiny strap size - very hard to find...
No doubt about it: I truly love the Bulova Super Seville. That was actually my grail watch. My budget regarding watches is not big. I could never buy a Rolex with good conscience and I am fine with it. I own some Seikos, Orients, Casios, etc. but I started really loving the Rolex Day Date look, when I got into watches. I looked for affordable alternatives, but none of them displayed that same look that I loved about the Rolex Day Date 18039 with the thin long indices, the fluted bezel, the magnifier and the president bracelet, until I discovered the Bulova Super Seville in stainless steel with the blue sunburst dial. It was love on first sight. I have literally been thinking about more than 1 year to get it, but prices were quite high on ebay and the blue one was quite rare. And then I finally got one in perfect condition on chrono24. It felt amazing to finally have a watch on your wrist that you were thinking about for so long.
Recently picked up a Bulova Super Seville in all stainless steel. Really love it and glad it got a mention on this ist, despite being a pretty obvious homage.
I guess so but people often complement my watch when I wear one with a fluted bezel so it seems like there's still a lot of appreciation for the design🙈.
I don't think youtube would allow such debauchery! LOL Thank you Jay, I will suggest it to him, but I doubt it, he barely leaves Isla Nublar for less then 20k in cash. Best regards, TGV
Great compilation! I bought the Seiko SNXS79k with the dark grey sunburst dial for my dad and he almost entirely retired his Dugena quartz watch in favor of the Seiko. For under 100 Euros that is a cracking watch which is hard to spot as an entry-level piece without some background knowledge about the Seiko 5 line.
Hell Matt, firstly, I wish you a swift and healthy recovery. Thank you for watching my videos, I truly appreciate. As somebody how has been in hospital so many times, I know exactly how it is, hang in there my friend. Sending you lots of positive vibes. Onwards and upwards! Best regards, TGV

Nice episode TGV - I lusted after a 18238 for over 20 years before finally buying one made in 1995 last year. It looks brand new but doesn't get much wrist time. I still smile to myself everytime I see it. The centre of mine and any collection really. It gets noticed more than any other watch I wear. Enjoy yours !
Hi - If you could recommend a President Homage out of the Orient Star and the Bulova, which lne wiuld it be, and why. Which has the better movement. Thanks

TGV! Congrats on the new day date and enjoy it in good health! Also, I know you tend to prefer smaller watches but I must say that Daytona looks absolutely amazing on your wrist. My pick for an alternative is the Casio MTP-1381D-7AV. That one has a silver dial but it also comes in a couple different dial colors.
Excellent video TGV. Have the Hamilton Jazzmaster Blue face and the Hamilton Khaki King Champagne dial. Both excellent Day Date alternatives on a budget. The Jazzmaster especially a sleeper - goes great with a suit. Keep up the splendid work!

Awesome intro TGV! That was hilarious! In my collection, I have as a DayDate alternative the following: An Orient day date 2 tones, I have an early version with batton markers and president bracelet; I also have a Bulova Super Seville also 2 tones with Jubilee bracelet and ETA movement. Finally, I have a watch from a brand that is called Oniss, they have a homage day date with an ETA movement and mine has an oyster bracelet, not the president style bracelet. It is 2 tones as well with a mother of pearl dial and roman markers. I'm glad I got these years ago, as time change and models either are gone or if they are still been made, they will be changed or cheaply made. Anyway, great vid and keep bringing Hugo to the mix, he is freaking funny!

Hello. If the fact of being fake would not be a problem, would you go for Orient president, Bulova Super Seville or Rolex super clone with 3135 clean movement? Just speaking quality whise
I actually just got myself my first "real" watch: the Bulova Surveyor 96C125 (the sunburst blue dial one that you show in the screen.) It's nothing too crazy, but I think a decent first venture into the watch world. Love the videos, and accent! (LOL)
I have a vintage 70s Bulova Super Seville Day-Date in 2-tone with the diamonds for the indices. I adore it so much. It feels amazing, has a great look and that sweep is so smooth. For me - it's always the Bulova. Exccellent reviews as always

Hey man, love the videos. Off-topic Question. I bought a Sinn 856 S non-UTC and wanted to put a 22mm nato on it. Does this work on the 20mm Sinn? What's your experience with fitting thicker nato straps on thinner lugs?
I was actually undecided whether to get the Orient President or a Seiko5 SNK357K1. In the end I went for the Seiko as the Orient, while looking more refined, has that feeling of being a blatant copy.
I would like to hear your reviews/comments about LORUS and Hanowa, because I haven't found anything about those brands in your videos. Nice channel, keep up the good work.
Just so happy because I managed to get my hands on a very nice two tone Bulova Super Seville with champagne dial from 1979. Not a single bit of gold has worn off on either the bracelet or bezel, by the bracelet it looks like it has been worn very little. I'm a bit of a box-ticker, even though that's not what I base my purchases on, but the fantasy of having that 36mm fluted bezel President experience has been haunting me for years (even before I got into watches, the Rolex Day-Date has always been like THE boss of watches to me, even back when I barley knew it was a Rolex). And as I only have new-money and not yet ready to spend Rolex money on a 36mm dress watch I will mainly wear to dinner parties, dates, and maybe some poker games, this bomb version of the Super Seville I will wear with pride. Btw, many of the players I play poker with are watch geeks, and there's often both Rolex, Omega and Breitlings on the wrists around the table, me being the underdog usually with the PRX p80, or a Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba (also day-date, but mainly my work beater). Watches are so damn fun. Also, happy new year TGV. Cheers.
What not many know is that Tudor made a reissue of the old Prince Date+Day available from Tudor in Hong Kong and Japan. Brand new, but the same old design of the vintage ones. Using a VPN you can find it on Tudors website. It also has both date and day quickset.
