Hi man I have no idea about the American ps3 but over here in the EU all 3 games are sold separately on the ps3 still so if you get the vita physcial version then you can go onto the ps3 and download or get the 3rd game on the vita
These were some of my favorite games of all time as a kid, they play fantastic on the Vita! I have a modded Vita and have the framerates unlocked and running at 60fps which is a really nice experience. The mission set up for each game always worked amazing on a handheld device for quick gameplay
Bought this game physically on the day it released on the PS Vita. I missed the whole series on the PS2... I first played Thieves in Time then these three games. I enjoyed it so much that I have 1's and 2's Platinum as well.
Yeah, they really are amazing games. I missed them on the PS2 as well and regret it. Wish I had played them sooner. But better late than never right? I still amazed at how well they hold up today. Kudos to great game design.
@@SuperJumpReviews the third chapter, the one that introduced me to this franchise and one of the first game that I bought with the first money I've earned working part time
The Sly Collection is the sole reason why the PS Vita is my favorite handheld ever. I grew up with all three of these games for the PS2, spending countless hours playing them. The fact that now I can play all three of them in handheld form is mind blowing. In fact, I think it is the only platform where you can play all 4 of the Sly games on the go. Plus, the ability to overclock the Vita and play the games at 60fps makes it more surreal of an experience for me. That beautiful OLED screen also helps as well. Great review as always.
Bought this game yesterday, thanks for the suggestion! Now, I bought Thieves in Time too, and just wanted to share a crazy fact about the european release of the latter: there are 5 multi-language european versions of it! I think it is a good point for collectors out there, because not all of them include English! There is an scandinavian release, a "English Channel" version with English, French and Dutch, a Germany/Switzerland/Austria release in French, German and Italian, a slavic version with Polish, Russian, Czech and Turkish (?) and an Iberian version with English, Spanish, Portuguese and Greek (?). Therefore, be aware when shopping online for this game, you might get a version you will not be able to undersatnd!

@@SuperJumpReviews they actually gave me Theives in Time in the box.I checked it after we left because I always make sure how the condition are. Got the correct game afterwards. Ya it was a fun time since it was actually the first system I bought on my own when I was 13 back in 2015. Still my favorite system to carry around with me since the switch joycons make me nervous to play something with a lot more movement and scared to break it.
The Sly Collection is definitely one of the most competent Vita collections ever released. My biggest complaints are that only 2 of the 3 games are actually on the cartridge and they completely butchered the original game's soundtrack. But that was also true for the PS3 version. Other than that, they look and play great. I'd also put the Metal Gear Solid Collection on the list.
@@SuperJumpReviews Basically took every song and made it worse. If they even work at all. Some tracks tend to abruptly restart in the middle of playing, and there's one level where there's no music at all, which is a shame, because that particular track was a good one. Idk why they did it, but it should have been left alone.
I’ve heard it’s due to space limitations. Trying to fit two full games on a single cartridge, AND both soundtracks? Not to mention the sound effects and extras? No wonder some things are broken.
@@SuperJumpReviews yep...don't like to spend money...to just play sly 3. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get a new code so my sister psvita can get sly 3. She have the game case and I don't want to buy another one
This, to me, is the best set of portable platforming games. And I had Mario Odyssey on switch. My problem with Mario, compared to Sly, is that there is absolutely no context to what you're doing: the Mario levels seem like a drug trip, floating in some random dream (with good gameplay). Sly is like a cartoon heist, Mario meets assassins creed:because of the stealth (that gives context to the platforming and parkour)... running across roof tops seems cooler, when you have a bunch of reasons to do it. On that note: thieves in time was waay easier...if you stayed hidden (which was easy enough, too easy cause you just had to stay away from lamp lights), but all enemies put up a good fight.
Completely agree! Mario Odyssey was great and I enjoyed it very much, but truth be told, there was no story. No heart to what you were doing. The developers were banking on the fact that you already knew the character so there was no reason to explain why you were off jumping from one area to the next other than to save the princess. I mean, how many times can you save a princess right? But in that context it works I guess. Sly feels more like an interactive movie almost, clever writing, clever gameplay and there was always a reason to why you were doing what you were doing. Although I did not get a chance to finish them all I'm glad I went back and got to see what the original trilogy was all about. Definitely up there with my all time favorite games. I actually like this better than the Jak and Daxter games😁
@@SuperJumpReviews ...yeah, I guess I should have said its like a Mario acid, save princess trip/dream. I like the many open world areas in sly 2-4, which to me were larger than new donk city, with more direction and purpose.I'm debating getting spyro the dragon on switch: any insights to which category that fits into? More Mario like, or Jak and Daxter/Sly on the story side?
There's no denying that the PS2 was a phenomenal console and that Sly Cooper was one of the best games for the console, particularly the second game. However, the PS3 was the superior console interns of tech specs, and the improvements are noticeable in the HD remaster. I would also definitely recommend having the game for the Vita as well, the performance might be slightly weaker than the PS3 port, but I really love the way they apply the Vita's features to the game's controls
@SuperJumpReviews Crisp clean graphics, a higher resolution of 1080p, a framerate of 60 frames per second, and playstation trophy support are the most prominent improvements
I heard that if you buy a new copy and the code doesn't work, you can email sony and they'll ask for a receipt of the game. Give them one and after a while, they'll get you a new code. I hope this works when I get it. Great video
It’s sad that Jak and Sly get overshadowed by Ratchet, which in my opinion is my least favorite of the 3. But Sony thinks of Ratchet as their golden goose somehow.
I seen your comment about Sony giving out new codes...I tried to contact them by phone and live chat on my pc and they wouldn’t take any requests...I bought a physical copy of borderlands 2 and the code for the dlc is also expired on it...wanted to see if they would give me a new code
I haven't really tried it myself but that's just what everyone always tells me. I wouldn't even know why Sony would still have new codes of sly 3 to begin with.
When I got this, I jumped right into Sly 3. Having never played a Sly game before, it was pretty fun and I was impressed. But my only gripe was Sly's teammates look like they were designed for an edutainment game series.
@@SuperJumpReviews will do man! I literally just ordered a vita today to play this so when it arrives I’ll check, I’m pretty certain they’ll still be on there I hope haha
Actually you can play this game on Upscale Native Resolution and in 60fps if you use vitagraphics on your Modded vita , You can patch it too and inhance the cut scene and make it into High Qualit HD.
Bruh, I can't believe u brought up one of the best classic franchise series. I guess I'm blind cuz I love Sly, played it since I was 10 for ps2, played it for ps3 years later. I feel it's well made on vita overall, I own the version and it's enjoyable. First I brought digital, beaten each one, then I went physical, and just re-downloaded part 3, but that's just me. I liked when they added Carmelita as playable character, especially in part 4...lol, also Ancestor characters, favorite one Tennessee Kid Cooper.. Today I still play Sly Cooper once in a blue on vita, even though I platnuim all 4 parts. PSN: XSevenK

You should do a Versus video of Virtua tennis 4 Psvita and Tennis world tour for the Switch/ps4/xbox1 etc. youll see how much better is the vita game :D And has more modes , like for wxample online multiplayer . Or just do a proper review of Virtua tennis4 vita , not only mention it in "Top ..." , just becouse its a nic cool game :)
I would say 1st Sly is not dificult, it just have this frustracting controls when landing, camera isn't best either and hitboxes aren't so clear as well. Bosses feel slugish and robotic, Its kinda colectaton too. Luckily its all fixed in the next two games which are truly amazing and feel more like an adventure rather than classic platformer
That's a tough one. Some people are not into these type of games so it's hard to say if this is a system seller. But on the other hand, if you do enjoy these type of platformers then yes, it is worth getting the system just for these as they have been very faithfully ported over to the vita from the consoles.
This might be an unpopular opinion here, but apart from Jak & Daxter trilogy, every other Vita compilation port was an amazing port of their original source, i.e., PS2........including *God of War.*
The PS Vita is an amazing little handheld. It’s a shame it was done dirty and killed by Sony but it still has some great first party games and being able to unlock trophies is also a plus. Planning on getting a platinum in sly 2 before long, nice review btw.
@@SuperJumpReviews that is true the game that suffers most in that collection is 3 but its definitely one where the ps2 versions of the game would have been better than the ps3 ports.
I bought a brand new Sly Collection back in May of 2016. I used the Sly 3 voucher right away but wasn't able to get the game because it expired. This is one of the many reasons digital games suck!
Just bought i used copy of the collection and the code hadn't been used but had expired exactly one year today I got it which was a shame but I did get a good price for the two games when you consider physical games going up in price with the news the PSN closing soon but I will still be able to buy sly 3 on the store before that happens.
I've been waiting for this, Thank you so much Andrew, You're the best 👍 And one thing I hated about Sly Cooper thieves in time was the ending where Sly disappeared and land in Egypt.they need to make a Sly five and it better be compatible to the vita
I heard the ratchet and clank collection is a good port on ps vita. Shame a lot of the other PS2 ports on the vita suck. Like God of war 2 ran at 40-60fps on the PS2 , so the fact that it runs under 30fps on ps vita just proves it's an awful port.
It is 30fps on the Ps Vita. However, you can mod it with Vitagrafx and make it 60fps on the PS Vita. It does have dips, however, down to 30fps (which is why there is a frame cap at 30fps). Honestly, it is not bad and it can be remedied by overclocking the Vita.
I downloaded the sly colection (1&2) and played the first one like 15 and it dindt got me, maybe because I cant skip the cinematics, I dont know. Now I playing Ys lacrimosa of dana, that game is gorgeous
aww mang, give it a chance. You need to play it for more than 15 minutes! haha The first game came out a long time ago remember that. The second and third are huge improvements.
I LOVED the first Sly Cooper game. The fantastic art style, the charming cartoony graphics, and colorful environments and characters. And the gameplay was super fun! But from Sly Cooper 2 and onward...I just couldn't really get into them. And i think it's because of the gameplay overhaul. I just want to keep platforming, but Sly Cooper 2 and 3 kind of went in an Assassin's Creed-like design, running around an open area doing random side-quests, taking pictures of certain items and people, following some guy around the entire map and making sure to not get spotted? In my opinion, these tasks were very boring, and i even fell asleep a couple of times. Not to mention i'm also not into the AC series either... I can definitely see the huge appeal in Sly 2 and onward, the gameplay just isn't for me.
Keep trying. I can understand if you don't enjoy Sly 1 as much. The franchise was still trying to find its footing so some things aren't as smoothed out. 2 and 3 is where it's really at!
SuperJumpReviews yeah I will keep at it. I think it’s just the small screen maybe. I don’t have any trouble with other games including the Ratchet Trilogy. I think not playing them back on PS2 days has had an effect also. Used to games like Metal Gear and GTA 3 etc
I don't know why but...that game does not appeal me AT ALL. I always try to find a reason to buy it but my reason slap me back to reality. Not this game. Not this game.

That's awesome! I bet you still have a vivid memory of that day too🙂I miss the days of walking into a gamestop or any department store and finding new ps vita games. Heck I remember buying brand new vita games at Target. Take me back to those days please!
I'd also put the Metal Gear Solid Collection
on the list.
I never played the original on PS2. What did they do to the soundtrack!??!
This is literally my favorite Sony Franchise. I wish it was still active.
Well, we are getting a new crash bandicoot game so maybe Sly will eventually get one too!
That happen to me before!!! The code have expired and now I own 2 copy of the sly Cooper collection!!!
I guess you have no choice but to buy it digital😁
I’m curious as to what improvements the ps3 hd remaster made.
I really love this series!!!!! It's one of the best series I actually loved
Don't tell anyone but I think it's better than the Jak & Daxter series🙂
@@SuperJumpReviews yes that's what I think as well
Awesome review...
Glad you enjoyed it🙂Now on to the next video!
I own it and love it. Played through all of them.
Which one was your favorite?
I seen your comment about Sony giving out new codes...I tried to contact them by phone and live chat on my pc and they wouldn’t take any requests...I bought a physical copy of borderlands 2 and the code for the dlc is also expired on it...wanted to see if they would give me a new code
I haven't really tried it myself but that's just what everyone always tells me. I wouldn't even know why Sony would still have new codes of sly 3 to begin with.
When I got this, I jumped right into Sly 3. Having never played a Sly game before, it was pretty fun and I was impressed. But my only gripe was Sly's teammates look like they were designed for an edutainment game series.
haha, you mean Bently and Murray?
haha, yup :)
Never played any and started with 3?.....what?....
@@HipnikDragomir Figured the graphics would be better later on in the series and I was right :) The game series did grow on me even more since then.
Can you review silent hill book of memories. Love your reviews and they have a influence on my purchases.
I will if I can get a copy. I don't have that game at the moment.
It's awful and you should stay far away from it.
You're welcome.
You should also do a review on ninja go you always suggested yet you haven't done a review on it
Ninja go? I can't remember haha. sorry I get request for so many games.

Awesome video mate. Are all these sly games still available to buy on the PSN store currently?
I'm not sure, it's been a while since I tried searching for these games. Give it a shot.
@@SuperJumpReviews will do man! I literally just ordered a vita today to play this so when it arrives I’ll check, I’m pretty certain they’ll still be on there I hope haha
I agree. Sly 3 is the best of all 4. The PS3 games run at 60 FPS and look jaw dropping still today.
I love how the games are just so cinematic. Like I'm watching a pixar moving.
I to have experienced static with the psvita on sly 3 i was dissapointed it was like that but its still amazing that I can play sly 3 on the go
Superjump review can you review modnations on the psvita?
ah, sorry, I don't have that game.
Actually you can play this game on Upscale Native Resolution and in 60fps if you use vitagraphics on your Modded vita , You can patch it too and inhance the cut scene and make it into High Qualit HD.
aw man, that's too much work. Can't I just put the game in and have it work?😂
@@SuperJumpReviews Yah, but It was easy.. you must try it. 😂
Does the PS3 version of the collection contain the third game on disc? I'm thinking of buying it.

Wait is Tennessee Kid Cooper the one in the wild west? I can't remember.
Finally 👏

This game is really good and it’s a really good port for the vita and you can buy the collection with the voucher unused check eBay
Aren't the vouchers expired though?
SuperJumpReviews no they are not you will have to ask the sellers first to confirm but if it says in the description then yes the vouchers can still be used

What do you think about the Ratchet and Clank games on Vita?
I'm not sure. I've never played them on the vita.
@@SuperJumpReviews It'd be awesome watch you make a review of them. But approach Full Frontal Assault/Qforce (name changes between regions) with caution. It has super ugly framerate problems.
hey could you do a review on sly cooper?
You just saw it.
Great video but wish u would’ve have mentioned that it plays 30fps on the vita and 60fps on ps3 tho but still I agree with u on thieves and time I love that game
i wish there was a sly cooper 5
Oh man that would be awesome. But I want it to be made by the original team though.
You should do a Versus video of Virtua tennis 4 Psvita and Tennis world tour for the Switch/ps4/xbox1 etc. youll see how much better is the vita game :D And has more modes , like for wxample online multiplayer . Acording to the developers of the switch game the game was 20% finished by the time of relese , but they relese it anyway . Or just do a proper review of Virtua tennis4 vita , not only mention it in "Top ..." , just becouse its a nic cool game :)
Oh cool, I didn't know that. Maybe if I have time I'll do a standalone Virtua Tennis 4 review.
@@SuperJumpReviews Nice :) Thak you
I would say 1st Sly is not dificult, it just have this frustracting controls when landing, camera isn't best either and hitboxes aren't so clear as well. Bosses feel slugish and robotic, Its kinda colectaton too. Luckily its all fixed in the next two games which are truly amazing and feel more like an adventure rather than classic platformer
Absolutely agree! Sly 1 is definitely the sluggish of the three but I was actually still surprised at how well it still holds up even to this day.
it is pretty neat
Yeah, they're 👍🏻
do you think this game is a sistem seller for vita :) ?
That's a tough one. Some people are not into these type of games so it's hard to say if this is a system seller. But on the other hand, if you do enjoy these type of platformers then yes, it is worth getting the system just for these as they have been very faithfully ported over to the vita from the consoles.
I want to buy this collection and Ratchet & Clank Collection on Vita
Go for it! Just know the 3rd game is digital only.
@@SuperJumpReviews Good to know, but i still have some space on my tiny PSVita Card
This might be an unpopular opinion here, but apart from Jak & Daxter trilogy, every other Vita compilation port was an amazing port of their original source, i.e., PS2........including *God of War.*
Hm...I might have to agree with you on this one.
@@SuperJumpReviews thanks!
The PS Vita is an amazing little handheld. It’s a shame it was done dirty and killed by Sony but it still has some great first party games and being able to unlock trophies is also a plus. Planning on getting a platinum in sly 2 before long, nice review btw.

@@SuperJumpReviews that is true the game that suffers most in that collection is 3 but its definitely one where the ps2 versions of the game would have been better than the ps3 ports.
can you still download digital games on PSN In 2020?
Yes but it's getting harder to look up the games. Buy them now while you can!
I bought a brand new Sly Collection back in May of 2016. I used the Sly 3 voucher right away but wasn't able to get the game because it expired. This is one of the many reasons digital games suck!
Someone in the comments said if you contact Sony customer support, they give you a new code that works.

I hope Sucker Punch makes it. They're better at it.

So I recently bought the collection on vita, preowned, had an unused download code for sly 3!!
Oh wow! Lucky you👍
I heard the ratchet and clank collection is a good port on ps vita. Shame a lot of the other PS2 ports on the vita suck. Like God of war 2 ran at 40-60fps on the PS2 , so the fact that it runs under 30fps on ps vita just proves it's an awful port.
I'm actually curious as to how the ratchet and clank collection is on the vita now too. I've heard conflicting reports though.
SuperJumpReviews I have the physical. I would say all 3 run the the best of the 3 trilogies.
God of War was a good port with some flaws. But every PS2 collection on Vita runs 30fps so idk why you're surprised.
Someone said you can just contact them and tell them the situation with the collection and they’ll give you the third one
Oh nice! Which I would've known that sooner haha.

30fps on vita and 60 on ps3, right?
I am new to this series
I'm not sure. But it's smooth nonetheless.
It’s a shame they don’t work on PSTV as I could play it in my bedroom on my big TV. I mean I have a PS3 and it’s Cross-Buy but no space on that 😂
I’m struggling with Sly 1 on Vita but I’ll press on as it sounds like it improves on the system
Keep trying. I can understand if you don't enjoy Sly 1 as much. The franchise was still trying to find its footing so some things aren't as smoothed out. 2 and 3 is where it's really at!
yeah, I can't believe it doesn't work on pstv either. Should've been a no brainer. It's because of the front and backtouch feature. Such a shame.
SuperJumpReviews yeah I will keep at it. I think it’s just the small screen maybe. I don’t have any trouble with other games including the Ratchet Trilogy. I think not playing them back on PS2 days has had an effect also. Used to games like Metal Gear and GTA 3 etc
I bought the collection and it only has Sly 3 :(
