Putin: If West wants to beat us on the battlefield, let them try

  • President Vladimir Putin boasted on Thursday that Russia had barely gotten started in Ukraine and dared the West to try to beat it on the battlefield.
"Today we hear that they [the West] want to defeat us on the battlefield. What can you say, let them try," he said.
Russia accuses the West, who they say is collectively headed by the United States, of waging a proxy war against it by hammering its economy with sanctions and stepping up the supply of advanced weapons to Ukraine.
Putin said while there was still a possibility of peace talks, the prospects would grow dimmer the longer the conflict with Ukraine dragged on.

Europe is a huge marketplace that needs oil and natural gas supply. Russia has been supplying this need. The U.S would like to take this marketplace away from Russia and have its friends from the Middle east supply Europe. (Qatar)
This would be beneficial to the U.S because payment for these resources would have to be made in U.s dollar.( Petro dollar)
In other words it's a turf war, just like drug dealing gangs do.

@@arcticdream4905 This is not a COD game this is real life. Reaching Mars is easier than beating Russia even for USA.
How USA could beat Russia? Russia is a huge country, if you think is enough to bomb the biggest cities you are wrong. Russia is a large country as large as USA it self, with a lot of weather and terrain hazards. USA need also to bring its army, weapons, tanks and so on from USA to Russia or use Europe as a hub. But still the closest city to Moscow that USA will be able to use is Kiev and the distance is nearly 1000 km. To bring a M1 Abrams US tank from Kiev to Moscow using the main roads will take 12 hours in with time they are exposed to Russian aviation, ballistic attacks and so on. Without speaking about the resupply difficulty and the problem with the lack of fuel. Without speaking that in this case all the bridges, train rails and other ground transportation will be bombed to the point to be impossible to repair enough quickly to not be bombed again. Keep also in mind that if USA will directly fight with Russia nearly the whole Asia will take side with Russia including China.
Even if USA was able to take a large city or even all the largest cities. The Russian army has on its own territory so many military secret and underground bases that it will be literally fighting against needles in the straw that will bait you once in a while with ambushes. Let's not forget the nuclear arsenals that literally can reach New York from submarines and they cannot be stopped in particular if they will use super sonic zircon missiles.
Plus Russia can destroy Moscow them self how they did during the Napoleon war even using nuclear if the main USA army will try to take it and use it as a hub for further operations.

Russia has taken almost 25% of Ukraine. What most casual Westerners don't understand is that the East of Ukraine, which is now firmly in Russia's hands, was the most heavily fortified region on Earth, save the Korean DMZ. Ukraine , with NATO's help, spent the past 8 years fortifying the border in the East and equipping and training the Ukr. military. Also not well known is that the Ukr. military was by far the largest in Europe, example, France has 406 tanks, the Brits have 227, Ukraine had 2,596 (!). Ukr has 500,000 strong military, compared to only 240,000 in France and 231,00 in Britain. Then, Russia invaded with a force of only around 150K and has barely committed it's Air Force to the fight, mainly just attack helicopters and Su-25 ground attack jets. Ukraine pre-positioned the bulk of it's military, the best units it had, in the East, they are devastated now, so badly that the Ukr govt is sending forced recruitment teams to virtually kidnap Ukr. men (and possibly women now) to join the meat grinder at the front. Ukraine is close to collapsing, Russia is in a position to take all of it if they want, though most likely, they will just keep the Eastern half and Odessa/ the coast line.

For many years our country suffered a civil war for Narco politics, drug crimes, and murders. That's why our former President Duterte decided to implement the "BLoody War on Drugs" to eliminate the druglords and he succeeded and won it and it helps us lessen the criminals that we can even easily walk peacefully at night. But one day America wants to condemn our former president for "his human rights violation" regading his "War on Drugs" and I asked 'How could it be? We are no longer part of America anymore? I think the Americans are a hypocrite. Look at the Mexican borders in America. And how do they bloodily treat and massacred the innocent illegal migrants there? And why Is the American President not condemned for human rights violations regardless of that? I think therefore that "AMERICA IS ALWAYS PLAYING A VICTIM CARD BUT A BULLY"

@@Justin-ui5ti Unlike Hitler, Putin offered to neutralize Ukraine and asked to broker joint security deals in Eastern Europe, I look up to Putin for being the only leader to actually depict the reality of the deep geopolitical issues that the West has propagated itself into while their own citizens are inadequately provided for.
Russia is about as undemocratic and authoritarian as the politics on “our side”, the only difference is unlike Nazi Germany or “our side” negotiations to make peace was offered, the invasions by Russia in the previous decades seem to have legitimately been operations to protect Russian citizens who have been actively residing in said invaded territory since before the collapse of the USSR and are actively marginalized within the region, there’s a reason no war was formally declared when Austria/Czechoslovakia had been invaded.
The regions of countries Russia invades have deep social roots, political and historic ties, shared borders and lots of bilateral relations/connections. To allow a foreign entity the ability to encroach on these shared ties, work to disenfranchise/endanger people who share your identity and DEEM YOU a threat despite having attempted to broker neutrality is an invasion I feel is more warranted and just then any invasion from the West in my lifetime.

    • @Justin-ui5ti
      @Justin-ui5ti Рік тому +1

Ah yes. The ignorance that comes from this comment is very amusing to see.
Let me ask you something. Just answer this question: What is the value of a 1/3 of the USSR nuclear Arsenal to Russia?
Why is Russia invading a nation that gave up 1700 nuclear bombs in exchange for simply respecting their security, sovereignty, and political independence?
Answer that. Ukraine had 1/3 of the USSR arsenal and were given security guarantees by both Moscow, London, and Washington to respect those terms.
Ukraine didn’t trust either side. They got both sides, West and Russia, to sign on this agreement so that if one side ever decides to harm them, the other will be obligated to honor to help them in their defense. Not outright declare war, but to give them assistance to defend themselves.
Russia decided to “honor” that agreement by annexing Crimea and igniting a civil war within Eastern Ukraine, lying to the world, including their own people and troops, about their intent to invade for months, and now invading.
By all means. Keep on screeching NATO this and NATO that.
Most of the current members of NATO were ex-Soviet nations or former USSR Warsaw Pact members.
Why exactly are the USSR’s old allies despising Russia so much? Maybe they have a good reason.
But yeah. That is Russia. Putin didn’t have the guts to tell his people that they would be invading Ukraine on LIVE TV. It was a recording and he was escorted to a bunker.
He didn’t have the guts to tell his intent to wage war, and hid like a coward.
Almost all of the Russian troops that are dying in Ukraine are not from Moscow or St. Petersburg. They are from the countryside of Russia.
His military are sending those people on the countryside to be their fodder.
By all means, go and barrage the US for their faults, but lying about their intent to wage war, and also attacking a nation that gave up 1700 nuclear warheads is not something it has ever done.

    • @creman12
      @creman12 Рік тому +1

@@Justin-ui5ti I never understand how decisively giving up nuclear weapons on its own indicates a move of peace and solidarity with Russia to you… were the Ukrainians expecting a time they will need to nuke Russia or another country to remain secure and independent in the long run? The ability to use nukes as your defence or a deterrent is not in anyone’s best interest particularly on a bordering nation. Simply put the more nations with access to nukes the higher the chance they will be used, and using nuclear weapons anywhere isn’t benefiting any nation or ideology its just assured mutual destruction and its in Ukraines best interest not to be the trigger of any such large-scale catastrophic nuclear attack for any conceivable reason.
The NATO-Russia Founding Act was aimed to ensure the joint protection of Eastern European nations by Russia and the west, either side was restricted from militarizing and forming alliances within the newly independent nations as much as use the nations to negotiate disputes transparently and uphold common interests.
You probably wouldn’t know though that the Ukrainian President in 2014 (whether you believe he was democratically elected or not) aimed to continue to balance Ukraines Western influences while upholding Russia’s interests and this was deemed threatening to US intelligence. You probably disregard or are oblivious to the fact that the west strategically funded nationalistic militias to launch the infamous Maidan coup that overthrew the formally elected Ukrainian government in 2014 to subsequently instil strictly pro-Western politicians in power?
Unlike other nations in the Warsaw Pact who “despise” Russia, again, Ukraine actually has very large communities of majority ethnic Russians who may or may not “despise” the West and reside along the borderlands of Ukraine like Donbas. Most ex-Soviet nations who you say “despise” Russia have Western roots, alliances or just don’t have nearly as many ties to Russia as large numbers of Ukrainians do, this is evident to your next point regarding Crimea which was never really ethnically or culturally Ukrainian before the 90s but was rather composed of unautonomous Crimean Tatars. With the collapse of Ukraines government in 2014 there was a referendum where the people of Crimea overwhelmingly and autonomously voted to join Russia instead of implementing any Western influence on themselves. How is this Putin igniting a civil war after the US-lead coup toppled the Ukrainian government and started blatantly marginalizing non-Ukrainians in the regions? This wasn’t ever about hijacking borders, these were democratically negotiated geopolitical alliances in the midst of US made turmoil in the nation which Russia fairly offered to the region being the imperialist super power it is and Crimea hasn’t rejected that since.
With all that I wonder how you would expect the US to react if Russia offered to fund something like the cartels in Mexico to launch coups and overthrow our current pro-West Mexican government in order to instil a Russian backed government in Mexico with which Russia would subsequently begin sending off weapons to them BY/AND recognizing the US as the threat…?
Putin didn’t have the guts to say he was invading? Putin offered negotiations of a neutral Donbas many times and when (literally)- the Ukrainian “US puppet government” rejected neutrality and said Ukrainians want to join NATO and militarize Putin increased his military presence in the regions to further indicate the seriousness about the need for concessions in Donbas in order to ensure the security of Eastern Europe and those with Russian status in the regions. With that Ukrainians never broadcasted warnings or announced evacuations across the country despite the ramped up military presence by Putin which could of saved countless Ukrainian civilian lives. Zelensky was likely worried people would withdraw all of their money to safely exit, tanking his economy overnight.
Plus if you think Putin is using his people as cannon fodder, Russian citizens have the option of fighting for Russia without a draft or the luxury of not having the battlefields come to their backyards. Zelensky could of literally negotiated a resolution that benefits the US, Russia and most importantly Ukrainians yet unfortunately the lives of any number of Ukrainians did not matter compared to even these sad dwindling economic interests and political influences.
Really upsetting the way you think is the West can’t possibly ever be the bad side when we’re literally destabilizing and overthrowing democratically elected governments in other sovereign nations in order subjugate neighbouring countries we disagree with by rapidly building military bases and instilling our own selected regime right on their doorstep, sad and baffling.

That’s why Ukraine has received help from nato and neutral countries while Russia has received none. Even china who’s russias closest ally is against the invasion.

I just read this and wonder if it is ture, but haven't checked yet:
Stratfor's Map clearly shows that the US Navy has completely vacated the Black Sea.
It is 100% controlled by Putin's navy and he has blocked any grain shipments from Ukraine.
I like Putin and am mostly pro-Russia (though I trust no one completely). But, if Russia is purposely blocking grain - which means people in poor countries may starve to death - this is a problem. At least, Russians can check passing ships to see if they are grain or weapons or spies. Let the grain pass.

Countries think and act in their interest, but when it comes across another country’s interest they are called Evil by the country whose interest is not the same. There are no bad guys only people who want the most power possible for their country or for themselves.
