  • It has been several weeks since Vladimir Kara-Murza was freed in a prisoner swap, but one of the leading Kremlin opponents says he is still adjusting to reality. On 1 August, Kara-Murza was released in the largest East-West prisoner swap since the Cold War along with 15 other Russian dissidents and foreign nationals. He had been serving a 25-year sentence for treason and other charges after denouncing the invasion of Ukraine.
In an interview with AFP in Paris, Kara-Murza, 43, predicted he would one day be able to return to his homeland as "Putin's regime" will not last.
