Hi! Any tips for calla lilies? The box store had them outdoors in bright direct light; however the instructions say allow 6+ hours in shaded area. I have them in west facing windows for privacy. I lowered my blinds to prevent too much sun, but I’d rather raise them since the plants provide some privacy. Would that give too much direct sun?
Some of the big box stores have water test kits or you can probably find them online to get your water tested. Look for high levels of chlorine, flouride, sodium, etc. in the results. You could do this, or just get two of the same plant (preferable 4") and water both, one with tap and one with distilled, keep them in the same area, watch how they grow and look for symptoms. Just know that every species and even variety may have a different threshold to the quality of water you provide it.
i bought a biiig ZZ and when i took it out of the pot, the roots were all black and fallen off. can i still prop the big stems? the rot hasn't reached the potato bulbs yet
A couple things that I could mention you try are to add enough water to keep the node submerged, I don’t let the cutting callous over, give it sufficient light and use rooting hormone. Good luck👍😊
@@kathymac21no, they won't grown frim where you cut original stem. And you can use the leaves you cut off the rooting stem and root those as well btw 😊
If the leaves dry on the ZZ cutting it's usually toast, but you could try. Keep the soil moist for the first 2-3 weeks and then slowly back off the water. Good luck. Watch out for my video tomorrow with 3 ways to propagate ZZ. It'll be very informative. Hope it helps you.
Honestly, very nice content... you stand out from other videos/channels in terms of conciseness
Hey. Thank you very much. Appreciate you taking the time to write that. Glad you enjoyed it.
What type of fertilizer do you use for your plants?
I just found your channel on insta and instantly started to search you, i hope to learn a lot from you
Thank you very much. Glad you found us. Please let me know if you have any questions.
The rooting hormone looks like it all came off when I put it in the water. Is that ok that the rooting hormone is all in the water now?

Can I cut off the root rot and transfer directly into new soil?
Sorry. I don't understand your question.
I did. But I also dipped the injured part in hydrogen peroxide
How do you know you have decent quality tap water?

All my water props seem to rot? I waited a few hours before placing in water...not sure what I'm doing wrong?
Is the node submerged? Please give me a few more details and I’ll try to help.
@MonstroFarm I think maybe thats my problem? Im not sure how much water to add whether it be a leaf cutting, or a big long stem.

Does the stem where you took the cutting continue to grow and form a new top?

I did this method and it rooted, however the leaves dried up? can I still plant it or is it toast? Thanks.
