I didn't see the mario brothers reference until you started singing it. I like the shape and color of this piece!! My husband always told me not to wish him good luck with deer hunting, that it was bad luck....so I won't for you either! And I agree with the earlier post, Gone Hunting, be back soon! Thank you Mary, I guess I just always look that way, lol actually I am having so really bad side effects from the meds I was put on after my heart attack, so I am in quite a bit of bothersome pain, not bad but nagging, always there bothering me, I will try to look more happy.

Koa wood is so soft. Its so easy to work with you make a lot of mistakes with it. I use to do a lotnof wood burning and hand carving on Koa wood in high school. Beautiful work again

Very nice bowl, the last time I turned koa it was combined with ebony and turquoise colored poly resin. I was turning a one piece handle reel seat for a bamboo fly rod. Long story short, caught an edge and it exploded. Broke my hand! I was able to resin it back together and finish it, but I can’t look at that rod anymore!
