The best part about the 80s? The absence of all the technology. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no iPads, no iPhones, just good times listening to your 45s and cassette tapes. Loved that decade!!!
LOL good times? You have not to use fb, twitter, insta, I don't use those. Now are better times than were before. No communism, less poverty, open borders, cheap airline tickets, very cheap online communication. Cassette tapes were crap, no hifi, long access time to particulary fragment of album. Loses quality in time. When you love past, you are dead.

@@emmetdonnelly2072 I can definitely see why someone would think that about "A Good Heart", but it's actually a song written by Maria McKee. She's talked about that quite a bit, being ironic that one of her biggest hits was a song she wrote for someone else. She finally recorded her own version on her album "Late December" in 2007. Basically, the song was supposed to be on the first Lone Justice record, but Jimmy Iovine, who was also working with Maria and her band just didn't see that song as an album cut. But, Dave Stewart, who was also there and living in Iovine's guest house at the time heard the song and said "this is #1". And then, basically, he said, "if you don't want the song, then I am taking it!", so he took it to the UK. But it's still Maria's song, although I am guessing that Dave probably produced and arranged Sharkey's version, hence the Eurhythmics similarities. There's a great Maria Mckee interview from about 6 months ago on YT that talks about this in great detail.

Some 1980s songs conjure up distant postive emotions for me. Feelings of freedom and innocence and a happier life. A life covered in the distant dust of time but a life we would like to brush off and experience again perhaps? Nostalgia and a healthier life that was simpler, enjoyed for the moment and in the moment. A journey, a loved one, a place, a time. This song is one that takes you there, if only for a moment...
