just ordered the GTS for my 1.6t Kona. cant wait to get it installed next week. The 1.6t is already pretty quick, I'm stoked to see what it does.
These hyundai engines are set to run on 87 octane in North America. Do you need a specific octane with this chip installed?

brought the gts black with bluetooth app 8 month ago for my elantra sport dct I can tell you it does what it advertised and you can defiantly feel more oomph and performance with exiting support bolt-on mods or just stock.
I installed the RaceChip RS + App on my 1.6t 2018 ES. It is night and day boys. I'm not even planning on doing a lot of upgrades. Maybe intake and exhaust and that is why I thought that the RaceChip RS was good enough for what I am aiming for. So to answer people's questions... worth every penny as it unleashes the true power of your 1.6t.

@@Hutchy86 car has close to 70k miles and going strong. I still get that smile when I push the petal lol... I'd say it's done it's job and some! I did change to full synthetic oil and that's about it. The car pulls and I love it. If you're going to get one I recommend getting the app with it. Pricy but worth the $.

The installation process is similar in all 1.6 T-GDi engines of Kia and Hyundai. That does not necessarily mean that the products RaceChip is selling for those vehicles are the same.

Great informational instal tutorial. But do these actually work? I'm a firm believer in getting real tunes for a vehicle, so what does a race chip really do for performance?

Hey there did the install and am getting pulled timing on different cylinders at different times and misfires. Do DTCs generated. Is this due to the car still learning the A/F ratios and other adjustments. At what point should I drop maps
So if I got this chip can I change like my air to fuel or like can I change settings so I can make my car get gunshots?
The tune in our Chip doesn't modify those things.
Does this chip make more power if you have bolt ons such as intake,Downpipe and Intercooler vs stock? Is it just the same hp/tq gain for stock and modified?
The RaceChip can be used with your after market components and increase the power further. The less restrictive airflow from all 3 of your mentioned mods, will allow for more air to enter quicker than over the stock components, thus better performance in conjunction with the RaceChip tune.
Will these work with a lap3 tuned ecu on a 2018 Elantra sport?

I have one on a 2012 SX turbo and it did pretty well, may have broken my fuel pump though.
Will this void my warranty? Would my car go back to stock if I unplug everything back to how it was before?
Any mods void your warranty if the dealer wants to get nasty, and I don't know that the automatics could handle this big a bump in hp.
How long on average does it take for car to adjust after installing one. Just installed GTS on my 2023 Forte GT 4 days ago, and I mostly drive to work and back 20 miles 1 way.

Its not required but it certainly would not hurt.

No! Unfortunately only the turbo charged model.
Do you make one for the non turbo 1.6?
We only offer chips for turbocharged cars.

No, unfortunately this is only for the turbocharged 1.6T models.
I don't believe you can use racechips on non-turbo'd models.
Just installed the S for my sonata eco and feels great, the dct is not up for the task too much but that's why I only purchased the S, to prevent overstress. Gas mileage has definitely dropped significantly just on normal drives, because at between like 20-50mph the turbo comes on much stronger and the extra boost and torque drinks much more fuel it seems. I wish I had the gts just to see what the car could handle but it's fine as is. Often seen this car do 0-60 in about 8.0 -7.9 second range besides when it was new.. now it's an east 5 tenths off every time .. so the 15.9 I got with it would probably be 15.5 I'd bet now

Additional control units like a RaceChip will unlock fantastic performance gains on turbocharged cars. Though, on naturally aspirated engines, such piggybacks won't unlock much power. Therefore, we do not offer performance upgrades for such cars.

I’m pretty sure you still can but That’s an economy engine. Not performance unfortunately. You’d be blowing your coils everytime you’d floor it on the highway most likely.

Erion Wright I was just being nice 😂😂😂😂 yeah don’t do ANYTHING TO an elantra SE. you’re better off getting any of the 1.6T trims. I currently have an elantra sport 1.6T and it’s one hell of a beast. I’m still breaking it in so I’m not pushing past 4000 rpms as much. I did floor it once and it has no problem hitting 100mph. I was chilling at 4000 rpm going 125mph. The ES can easily hit 160+ if i was pushing it. I could get a racechip and add minimum 50 hp and hp ft torque. That’s BIG for a 3100 pound car

Is the Turbo inlet sensor the one on the throttle body pipe near the Inter cooler?
This is the one to get, since you get more bang for your buck. It is a DTE private label at a great price. DTE, DTUK and RaceChip all use the DTE computer board and software. Grade A stuff, all of them.
That's not correct. DTE is a competitor of RaceChip. RaceChip is a much more advanced product.

Was this car DCT or Manual, can the DCT handle the power/torque reliably as in its been tested? Hyundai's max torque for DCT is listed max 340NM.. (D7UF1)
This specific vehicle was a manual but it will work for the automatics as well. We have found that Hyundai many times publishes numbers for their vehicles that are conservative as compared to what the actual vehicle has.
The dual clutch max torque is said to be 290 ft lbs torque in a real life scenario.

Yea , thats why I am lowered 2 inches, semi solid bushings, harness, a piggy back and now dealing with altering roll center. If I wasn't married I would of already have a 400+ hp Kona AWD, shut the funk up. We just need to get the DCT trans computer hacked to get the clutch that is waiting that we need to get at the computer clutch tip in. Come on RaceChip do the Hyundai community good and have a black hat hack the Hyundai DCT computer and push the hack out to the world so we can get a the race dual clutch to people who need it.

Is there anything needed or recommended once the chip is installed?
Drive around in the mode it arrived in for 10-15 miles before moving to the more aggressive settings. Also make sure you are using premium fuel.

Yes, all of our tunes are for 91/93 octane as more performance requires more octane. This has to do with the heat and pressure inside the motor.

I have a 2019 Hyundai Elantra sport DCT. What drive mode should the car be in when using the chip? Normal, Smart or Turbo? Is there a drive mode that works better with the chip than others? Or Do I need to change the drive mode depending on what setting mode is selected on the app?
The drive modes on the vehicle work totally independently from the tune. You can use them in any combination with one another. It is difficult to say specifics as everyone is different in their desired results. You can try the different combinations until you find what suites you the best!

do you have to ziptie everything
You do not HAVE to ziptie but it is certainly recommended to secure the wiring harness so it does not get exposed to the heat of the engine block or moving parts like belts.

How much performance did you see from this?
You should see up 48 HP increase and 85 lb-ft increase with the GTS.
