Your explanation of the difference between your olympic recurve draw and BB draw, and how you fixed the issue, was GOLD for me. I recently switched from split to 3 under, and have struggled with getting into my back fully. My split anchor was slightly further back, and allowed me to comfortably settle into the correct position and alignment. My 3 under scores are smoking my split scores, but the comfort level has been inconsistent at best. I tried your method of drawing and loading, and it was instantly easier. Thank you for taking the time to explain things to us!

It's almost scary the progress I made today at the range after watching the whole series. Im just a beginner but I realized I had some mistakes internalized during the shot proceds.
    Thank you from Italy :)

Great descriptions on the fine details here Jake... I think that is one of the main areas where you sore in your instructional content. Some other instructional channels will make a 4-8 minute video on this subject... but it is those fine details and nuances that you cover that really cement a viewers understanding and make all the difference, that is what you cover in spades. Can't get enough, keep up the great work!

Dead right Jake about overdrawing and then coming to anchor. Very common plus as you mentioned creeping. Excellent series . The best reference for barebow Archers.

Outstanding piece Jake. I’ve had a few heated discussions about this issue with a few archers, and as always, everyone is different in every physical aspect of their facial, skeletal, and draw posture/ structure. In the end, the basic core of the KSL shot cycle is spot on. I will definitely refer not only my students, but those I’ve had conversations with, regarding this. As always, thanks for the content, and your channel. It’s the main reason why I’m subscribed to it......no fluff, no B.S......just good ole fashioned analysis, and remedies 😎🙏🏹🏹👍

To me it was a thrill to see your anchoring. I was never comfortable with that canine tooth anchor, as I found it difficult to get bone alignment. Slightly lower and slighty farther back did the trick. It is also a relief to hear you move your head. That made it all come together for me. Thanks.
The only problem is that you have to string walk farther down the string. I ended up switching to slightly longer arrows (and I think you did, too).

Congrats on your very first Trad bow.
I want to pause for a second and say this as well.
Keep up the great work sir. I have learned more in this playlist of helping me with archery then anything I have seen thus far. Your recommend Books, (your coaches and yours) are both in my cart.
From a hunters perspective, In your Future, (I am not skipping ahead., I would like to see you, go into some details on extreme FOC and Fixed Crawl for a Hunters Tune.
PS, I am 50, I have been shooting since roughly age 10, I have been hunting since 12-13ish.
I started with a recurve, as life went on a technology went on, I went from recurve to compound and back to Trad over the past 5 years. I have noticed, a significant difference, going back to trad after using a compound for 25-30 years. Form, affects the shot so so so much more than, I ever noticed with a compound.
Again , I could keep on going, but I can't thank you enough for you willingness to help progress this sport on your own dime if the makes sense. With that said, I watch all the commercials, and plan to purchase your book, as well as your coaches book this week.
    Thanks again.

Excellent video! As an Olympic recurve shooter I’ve watched both loading videos and have gained a much better understanding of the loading process. However attempting this with a bow is much more challenging. My rotating of LAN 2 is great without a bow and with a stretch band but not so good when pulling a bow. Oh well I guess that’s why you have two silver medals and I have none!

So first lock your back and then come into anchor? I have always done it the other way around. Well, the two are only a split second apart, but I will try changing the order mentally. Can't wait for the next episode. 😄

You ordered a trad bow? That’s exciting! Thanks for the video I like the tip of dipping down the scapular at the end.
I’ve been getting some posterior impingement ever since I changed my form. Loading felt fine but when I try to anchor I can see in my videos that I’m turning my elbow too much to the inside of the bow then in transfer my elbow comes back to a more normal position. I’m working on not exaggerating that elbow turning with my shoulder. Do you have any indication for good elbow rotation position once loading is finished?

A trad bow?! Which model are you getting? I'm excited to see how you aim with it. If I shoot mine vertical bow, I ALWAYS hit left. I cannot get my groups down the middle without canting the bow. No matter what I try, they go left. I hope you have this same issue so I can feel validated. 😂🤣

Look up some videos on aligning your string with your riser. That is your rear sight and allows you to modify your horizontal impact point.

Thomas Aaron I'm right handed so aligning my string to my riser moves my groups farther to the left.

As someone who does the thing you don't like (drawing further, then losing tension), I agree with you completely. It's an incredibly hard habit to break; I recommend not developing it in the first place.

Just saw you are trying traditional. In the future, please try to get a horsebow and give thumb realese a try. You know, arrow on the right, no shelf kind of thing. It's a big challenge but I guarantee that it will make everything mediterranean seem boring. And you can get to much more power out of a bow. Not so efficient anchor wise perhaps. But fun fun fun
