Really enjoyed the video! I'm from the Philly area and have been really enjoying your videos. This video got me digging into women golf course architects, and more about the history of this course. So to say that it was "built by Adi Buchanan" may be a bit of a stretch. Sources seem to inticate that she commissioned a guy named Frank Hyatt to produce the golf course. To what degree did Adi design the course? How much did she actually do? We definitely know she financed the course being built. In the interest of finding the first woman golf course architect, you may want to look up Ida Dixon and check out Springhaven Club in Wallingford, PA.
Dig into Annie R. Buchanan. From all accounts she built it. (With help from frank..) thats how it reads, Joe confirmed. It’s interesting history, I might have it off but thats what I learned so far.
@@parfessor Very interesting stuff! The first article clip you posted in your video, where did you find that one? I also loved the part of the experimental greens. The course definitely has a lot of cool history, and should probably be put on the national landmark list.
@@dalemiller2438 The first article is from poconorecord. The tale of two widows. Looks like golfweek did an article too. Just need the right people to see this location. @usga
