- This is the fourth part of the 189 kilometer long steam ride which we filmed from the BR 23 023 of the Stoomstichting Nederland. We have brought hundreds of passengers from Rotterdam to Arnhem, where they visit the Open Air Museum Arnhem. We leave for Beekbergen, where we turn the locomotive at the depot of the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij, fetch water and top up with coal for the return journey. On the way we drive on a beautiful railway that you have not yet seen on UA-cam: Dieren - Eerbeek.

Dit is het vierde deel van de 189 kilometer lange stoomrit waar we met onze camera's vanaf de BR 23 023 van de Stoomstichting Nederland filmen. We hebben honderden passagiers van Rotterdam naar Arnhem gebracht, waar zij een bezoek brengen aan het Openluchtmuseum Arnhem. We vertrekken naar Beekbergen, waar we op het depot van de Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij de loc gaan keren, water halen en kolen bijvullen voor de terugrit. We rijden onderweg over een prachtige spoorlijn die je nog niet hebt gezien op UA-cam: Dieren - Eerbeek.

Thank you for this wonderful video. I lived on the Dr Langemeijerweg #10 in Rheden 1950-1953 befor we emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario. Canada. I "helped" build the "new station in 1952 as any active Dutch kid would do then. We took the train to Arnhem/Rotterdam a few times in those days and the love of trains stayed with me so that now I'm heavily into Nscale modeling. Your videos save my the time and $$for a quick trip back to my homeland. Thanks again for your help in making memories come alive again.

@@CabviewHolland Thanks for your kind reply. Here in Canada there is not much availability of NS and taxes would be prohibitive to import. I know what I want, the high cab 3-6 unit train but is in short supply even with Dutch dealers. I also recently found a picture of myself on our front porch in Rotterdam age age4-5, so 1948-9 wearing an orange sash and blowing my whistle and waving the paddleboard as a "kondukteur". It started young.

Me again.... I remember the installation of the "Amerikaanse" gates and the controversy the caused in the community as being unsafe since the gates did not cross both sides of the streets that the tracks crossed. Prior to that, the gatekeeper would move the levers that moved the chain that brought the gates down up to what to me was a long distance down the track. Ahh the memories. Thanks again.
Excellent video and back in the day it would have actually operated the 99 km trip from Duisburg Hbf to Arnhem Centraal where NS serie 1000-1300 take over to Amsterdam since it's electrified back in 1938. Remember the Duisburg Hbf Arnhem Centraal section of the route wasn't electrified when DB Baureihe 023 was built but electrified in 1966 for DB Baureihe 110.3 103 NS serie 1000-1300 to take over at Emmerich am Rhein

I live in Arnhem(in the street,opposit to the flatbuilding between Arnhem CS and Arnhem Velperpoort and sometimes you hear this trains passing by.Always a sensational feeling.

Great video, once again! - It's funny to realize that the stations on the museum stretch closed in the same year (1950) as the first of this series of steam locomotives entered service.

Lovely Journey! and an impressive collection of Loco's at the museum, I'll have to take a visit sometime. Also love the ex-BR Class 11 at the end!
NS class 600 are the same basic design as the BR class 08, apart from a few detail differences.
The VSM museum has his whole collection on display and mutch under steam the first full weekend of september.
Once the train got off the main line onto that secondary branch, it was fun. No electrification, stop and flag the level crossings, rusty track, wow, no wonder we have never been on this track before.
the track belongs to the VSM museum, and uses seldom the track from Eerbeek to Dieren.

Meer nog dan de 189km want de GPS blijft voor Eerbeek hangen. In totaal zal het 200km (en een beetje) geweest zijn!

Thanks very much for a delightful journey on some old track. I know I have been with you or Stefan or?? on the main line through Dierden(sp?) pretty sure. As someone else said noticed the old rusty tracks til about 15 minutes before the end also the old wooden sleepers. Video a bit low quality at the start and in some places. Any chance of re-doing in a higher resolution? Thanks from Australia!

Alohaaaaa wat een mooie rit was dit. Vanaf Dieren was het echt prachtig hoe u dwars door de Veluwe reed. En ik vond de camera positie nu mooier op de kopse kant
Kreeg je nou ook te zien hoe de locomotief omdraait in de volgende aflevering of komt aan de andere kant een andere locomotief er voor?
Vind je het mooier om 1 camerastandpunt te kijken? Nee, de draaischijf komt niet in beeld..
Het was wel apart dat de laatste video 1 camera standpunt heeft. Maar die andere video's vond ik ook prachtig.
Jammer misschien krijgen wij dat ooit nog te zien met de andere video beelden.
Maar op en top een mooie route ik heb er van genoten :)
@@geraldkaminskas5289 We hebben op dit deel van de route de andere camera’s uitgeschakeld omdat ook de hele terugreis nog gefilmd moest worden en qua capaciteit werd dat kritisch.
Hoe dan ook ik vond het een mooie tour van Rotterdam goederen tot Beekbergen :)

Pero como tan pajaros, en vez de haber paseado todo este lindo equipo por toda la red ferroviaria y llevarlo hasta las estaciones más importantes, como son las terminales, lo van a meter a un museo por donde no hay vida ferroviaria y una vía abandonada que lleva a ese museo, cuando podrían haberlo mostrado a las nuevas veneraciones, para que vean lo que fueron los trenes de antaño, no se ni entiendo cual es la idea de ir a esconder algo tan bonito como lo que tienen, es absurdo.
It's all in privat hands,these steammachines and lorries and it needs a lot of service,only done by volunteers,who do it for free.
So try to be happy,does people keep it rolling and they already bought a lot of steammachines,which they have restored themselves.Also the track lay-out at Station Beekbergen has been become bigger,by their work.

Ik vermoed dat het een atb-storing was.
Het lijkt erop dat die lijn al lang niet meer is gebruikt.
Vooral baanvak Dieren-Eerbeek wordt maar zelde gebruik. VSM pendelt vaker tussen Eerbeek/Loenen-beekbergen-Apeldoorn
I just don't wanna be seen as one of your forever disagreeing, perhaps even strange, subscribers. But when you switched from daily to biweekly videos, the ET part of my human-ET hybrid self, here to observe and report back to Planeta Fred, had some difficulty making the switch. My 100% pure Fredonian mentor suggested that I take a few days to try and adjust, borrow one of our scout/shuttle small commute craft from the orbiting mother ship... and, explore some local Cabview Holland Dutch Railways lines not previously shown. So, I took this rail line trip. I've seen it before. Exactly like from this video. Not officially, of course. So, how do you now wanna move forward with this information? I don't want the rest of the viewers to call you a liar or think that you're losing your mind. You've already got enough problems in the Netherlands... farmers and all. Como siempre... (as always) great job by the train spotters! Gracias por tu video, Señor Cabview. RT sends, envía, Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México... ***P.S. Really great view from track level. I think you'd enjoy it too from about 150 meters in altitude. Maybe some day you can fly along with me. I don't have a good driving record. The Fredonians won't give me the 'keys' to a newer model saucer. Didn't mean to scare anyone. No full cloaking on the old bird. Had to use manual holograph. I selected a flight of two WWII German Junkers JU 87 'Stuka' dive bombers. Probably bad taste on my part, but the Russian MiG 41s were busy in the Ukraine.
