Alamere Falls Trail & Short Cut to the Falls

For those who are interested in visiting this place for the first time, this video will help you get an idea of how the trails/terrain are like, the type of obstacles you will be facing, important locations to lookout for and the secret passage way (short cut) to the waterfall.
Preparedness is the key to a fun hiking experience. Be sure to have the right hiking equipment, know the location and plan ahead. Here are a list of items to take note:
The trail is 6.5 miles one way (13 miles total)
Short Cut to the fall is about 4. 5 miles (my video reveals the short cut route)
uneven pavement, lots of rocks/gravels, constant going up and down the hills
Kids under 12 should no go through the short cut route
a few dangerous spots if you take the short cut route
limited parking spaces
no phone reception
no restroom for 7 miles apart (3 hours of hike to the next restroom)
Don't be like me. I arrived at the start of trail at 1030am and was not able to park at a designated parking space. We had to park on the side of the road, a mile away from trail start point. So show up early.
My first visit here failed. We did not know much about this place, hiked half way and had to turn around. We did not reach the falls. This time, we were prepared and accomplished the hike.
