@@QuantumRealm- post your settings, that will help us figure out what you're doing but 120 FPS must be the maximum FPS for that I didn't know the valve went that High pretty nice. 90 is the maximum FPS you can get from a G2 so that's all relative. But with your GPU getting that high of FPS I'd like to know what kind of settings you're using to help people with lower end systems

I might try increasing some of the settings once I figure out if I run smoothly in a battle, but I know the Index has less pixels than the G2, so that might be getting me those extra frames. Edit 1: Okay, first try, got about 90-100 in-flight until I reached the combat area and tried to dive bomb some artillery, about 10-20 planes in the air, when I diving and got close to the ground my FPS dove down to between 40-60 FPS, and on my way back to the airfield my game froze, so I'll probably turn down shadows and see how that changes.
Was going all over the place trying to dial in my Pimax 8Kx.... your video helped me dial my settings in. I9 12900KF w/ ASUS Tuf 4090 OC .. solid 89 to 91 FPS on Ultra... can dial up a few settings but very happy ! S! Iceman
Just make sure you set the detail_rt_res to your per eye res for the Pimax 8kx ( 2160?) and I would use 95% to 92% res under Performance and Then Under System Override res back to 100% so you are getting the full effect of FSR. Also, make sure you set full_height = 1440 and full_width = 2560. This should help the menus look better and Hud text. And give you the best FPS. HDR and SSAO are still not good for VR but you can try HDR on. I can't spot fighters as well when they are 3k or more out if HDR is on if they are in shadow or ground clutter. With it off it's like " real life " and you can see it moving to draw your eyes.
@@davidwaVR Thank you for all the advice. I dropped the res down to 95% for both height and width under performance.. but when I turn it back up to 100% under system override... I cant get the native resolution (Per-eye Resolution, 3840 x 2160 (native) any idea how I can custom enter the correct resolution? Also.. tried SSAO and HDR.. really hated SSAO.. HDR is meh for me by itself. Like you said .. real life with HDR off. Another question.. did you figure out anything about mip-map... off, conservative, all?
@@JG2Springer I had that issue also. So I use 92% on the HP Reverb G2 But due to you have to just lower the % in performance so you can match the 3840x2160 I cheated and just kept doing 1% and checking the override to see if I hit that number that worked. The HP is 4320x2160 but they run it at 3164x3092 so I can't guess what your best % would be without walking it back 1% at a time. And FYI that would be true for anyone reading this due to your system may not be the same as mine. But if it's better then you would be fine. Ryzan 7 5800x3d with an EVGA 3080ti 12 gig with 32 gigs of ram 3600 with lower clock speed. I use Mip-map to( All )to reduce the artifacting of distant objects and water.
@@davidwaVR Well not sure if Im set 100% perfect, but she looks fricking awesome, and I am still maintaining 90 FPS sitting @ 95% with 95% sharpness Ultra Settings MSAA x4 most all IL2 settings maxed.. looks gorgeous... no funny colored smoke ( water is still kinda bright at times ). Thank you for all your guidance. Game looks the best it ever has in VR. I know alot of people speak crap about the Pimax 8kx, but other than the IPD quirkiness... its head and shoulders over the Rift S I had. Thank you again.. will keep watching. @@JG2Springer yeah my systems not strong enough to run msaa for. I have to use the newer fssa. Yeah it's a beautiful game and it has a lot of legs grow especially with the 4090 I'm sure you can throw on all that extra eye candy
I have a rtx 2070 8gb super. I7-2600 @3.40ghz. Hp reverb g2 ill do some testing at the weekend if it helps. But honestly even without the toolkit the sim was OK. So can't wait to try it 👍
you will want to start at 80% or lower to get the CPU and GPU under 20 ms each. even 70%. Make sure you keep the shadows low. Off kills the lighting in the game.
@@johnwalsh1879 Check to see if your Windows " Game Mode " is not on. That can cause issues too. I found that on some updates that can be turned on. I was testing Game mode to see what issues it could cause and many of the issues you said you saw started to happen on my system after I turned it on.

having a bunch of goggle crashes were everything turns black for no reason. No predictable pattern, i.e. happens when there is nothing going on, happens when there are many aircraft in the area. Heard it was turb causing it,. Turne doff turbo but still get it.
Hi Iceman, I have seen your Tutorials, Great. I need help setting the view to 6 o'clock. With my Reverbe G2 I can't see back. Can you give me an exact configuration to see at 6 o'clock of the cockpit? Thank you.
They have an app called neck saver. I don't use it. I look to the opposite side I want to look, then use the center view key, and then look to the side I want to see behind my 6. And then hit my center button bringing me back to the front view. I also do this if I am scanning one side of the fighter so I don't have to strain my neck.
after windows11 update my fps dropped from 90 to 35 fps in all games, openxr tool kit shows that it's cpu fault, cpu bound from 10 to 30 ms, any idea what's going on.
You also might want to watch a UA-cam video on optimizing your windows 11 for your GPU and gaming. There are many videos out there on that I don't use Windows 11 because I haven't heard anything good about it that makes me want to use it. In fact I fear the day I will have to use it. It was kind of like moving over to Windows 10 something I had to do not that I wanted to do
@@davidwaVR I'm using ryzen5600x and 6700xt, even in menu my fps is 40, when I checked task manager it shows all the time 20% of cpu use in menu of this games, I seen all your videos and optimized , it looks like cpu problem

Just so you know, you would be running the FSR setup in the tool kit not the AMD control panel for the GPU like you would for non-VR games. @@davidwaVR Interesting, with Motion Reprojection Off I'm getting CPU bound. Nothing on the GPU at all. With Motion Reprojection on smooth as silk. Flew multiplayer on Flugpark WWI in a fairly big furball and it was good MR On. I did not use more than 9-10 Gb's of Video Memory.

1.2.4 is out fixing Crashes in DCS when using Turbo.
I tested the game with HDR and SSAO on .. Need to test just HDR. But it does make It harder to spot with it on.
