You shouldn't continue to focus on the guys that did the murder, as they outright admitted it. They did it as a favor for Katie, and to make $$$.And the Adelsons followed thru by giving Katie the $$ that was promised for the murder of Dan. End of story.

You know it's bad when an attorney says "shadow of doubt in his closing" It's beyond a reasonable doubt not shadow! Defense attorney's facial actions and turning his back to the judge while the judge was explaining hearsay was disrespectful and unprofessional which in itself should have resulted in the judge sending the jury out and admonishing that attorney. A horrible attorney he is.

Fairs fair. His client is obviously guilty his job is to raise reasonable doubt. There were questions to answer. If his contention is that Rivera brought Garcia along for a drug deal could have some legs when they just find some random person to get drugs and miraculously bump into him on the 2nd trip. And this random person books a hotel room. I am not a fan and wasn't overly impressed with him throughout the trial but he did his job for the closing. The judge was inappropriate how he admonished him in front of the jury, particularly as he was so adamant lawyers not do speaking objections throughout.

The common sense here is this: the Adelsons had a problem they felt there would be no legal solution to; luckily for them Charlie was dating a woman who had a baby daddy who was himself in the life of crime and who had friends who were even more in it; that baby daddy was Garcia; he was not the type he could do murder, though, so he reached out to his friend who knew had done it before -- Rivera; he was the tough one; Garcia brought him along to do the shooting; it was Garcia's job but Rivera did the actual killing. The end. All this nonsense spewed by the Garcia defense about this being a one-man job is garbage. Yes, it could have been done by one highly skilled assassin. These guys arent skilled assassins, though. They are hoodlums from the 'hood. Doing it together gave them confidence and made for a fun road trip. Rivera likely did get the gun in his hood. Surely, it would have been safer to buy it in Talahassee and dump it there but it also would have been a whole lot less convenient because Rivera would be off of his "turf" that would make things more complicated.

They believed what the hoodlum Rivera said following a deal with the corrupt US court system, called "bargain plea". But material evidence points to him, regarding who pulled the trigger. RIvera's gun was used in the murder, and he received full payement for the murder fee, which he admitted.
But the corrupt court system decisded that it's Garcia who killed Markel, because Riviera said so.

There is a possibility they were set up to get the blame for the murder by ??? This could have been a drive up to do a drug deal done previously in that garage. But this last time whoever shot Dan knowing they were going to show up there. This attorney makes some valid points about how ridiculous this murder plan was ... Then renting a room in your name and pulling into a driveway, daytime...
