I'm glad to that Shorty Chev van got saved! I'm proud to have a really neat all original 2 families owned 1950 Dodge Meadowbrook. She's such a sweetheart of a car! Also has the original spare tire in the trunk! Neat
thanks for posting the interesting parts of your days. i'm disabled and live in alot of pain from old oil field injuries. i watch youtube to try to keep my mind off of my pain. i hurt every where basicly lol, thanks so much Silas for posting your work. you are a hard working man.
I have a whole lot of pain to, I try and build stuff to keep my mind off of my pain. I got back into welding scrap metal sculptures. On the day's I feel okay even with pain I still try and get out and create an adventure. Some of the stuff I build people like. I give it to them to show in there yard.
Forget that dig a hole and keep it right in the middle of the yard so you can keep an eye on people and other things while your pinching a loaf you'll need that mirrored one way tint and p.a system along with cameras and toilet paper
Super cool cars, I thought that motorhome design looked familiar. If I am not mistaken it was made by a company called Balboa, those motorhomes are super rare!!!
You definitely got yourself a money making business. That raking for placing the vehicles on is a great idea. I've seen similar at other scrap yards. Keep the videos coming.
ENJOY ALL YOUR VIDS. I love the history behind the OLD STUFF. Wish we could save it all.. but we can't. You can easily make up for the lack of "claw" videos with your excavator with the thumb. (With use comes proficiency.) That is a great tool to have.. and I'm sure a lot of people would like to see more of it. KEEP IT UP SIR.
My first car was a 50 Chrysler, my Dad said "U can't race that one.....", didn't think about two over stuffed sofa's for seats.... It was a great push and tow car for the races, it was the King of the drive-ins........
Man Silas ! I bet you could write your name with that loader if you put a sharpie at the end of one of the forks ! You can't learn that in school. That's experience !
Great content. I like how you show what you recycle and how you do it. You show a lot of content from farm cleanups to old vehicles, those your saving and tell if you sold them and what you would maybe sale things for. Please keep doing what your doing.
you really do a great job!You remind me of an old friend silas dust,he is a kind hearted and one of a kind person.I would love to see the yard someday lol
Silas , I drove a lift truck for years , you are incredible using the loader! Oh I take it that you run the Crusher by remote? It seems like mostly you are a one man team ! Keep those videos coming , I don’t miss a one!
Enjoyed the video. Can't blame the person that bolted in their tailgate. Those things get stolen in some areas, and it's dog gone easy to do. Lots of cool vehicles and cool stuff. People grip about what you get rid of, they don't consider the stuff you save AND that you're doing this for a living not for fun. I look forward to your videos so I can tag along for a bit. Stay safe and GOD bless
Im a collector /hoarder who tries to save too much stuff. However I do like to make a few dollars from selling scrap. I try to get a large enough quanity so I can effectively market it. At present I have about 50 vehicles slated to scrap. a lot of aluminum and breakage and quite a bit of copper wire and radiators. I take the time to strip out the wiring harness, heater core, evaporator and cats. sometimes I strip all the aluminum and stainless trim. Scrap prices fluctuate. However high fuel cost translate to higher scrap prices. The break even point to mine raw iron ore and minerals like Bauxite and Maganese is $3 per gallon. If diesel cost more than $3 they shut those mines down. and the demand for scrap increases.
Just a suggestion but rather in buying those pretthink those protective covers for your phone if you get some packing tape have a duty packing tape that's clear you can put it on the front of your phone and trim it down and they last almost forever forever and I'll protect your phone against your keys change and things poken on it hes things poken on it and it's a lot cheaper than going out by and protector's all the time
I collect bicycles and fasten them around the top of my premeter fence. I makes it more difficult to climb over. We are located at the Jct of two state highways. Folks stop and take pictures of the bikes. I was at a auction and boght two bicycles for $2.50 each. Im 70 and was rolling then out to my truck. A young woman asked grandpaw are you gonna ride them bikes. I replied no Im gonna fasten them to my fence. She stated I know where you live!
Scratch you should be collecting Toyota Echo motors, automatic transmissions these cars will get 600000KM"s and if you can get them either HB or Sedan they get upwards of 40mpg or more in cities and 55+mpg on the Highway. The engine is 108HP 4cyl flatheads. Peter
Great video as always Salis thank you for sharing and your time was really great 👍 going to flat bed again Street clean up wheels Catalina love the way you work .
You should show us how you separate the wheels from the tires, Video idea for ya what kind of tricks can you do with the loader forks? Can you pick up an egg or balance a ball on the forks while driving across the yard? How delicate can you be with them?
The part of the video where you’re pitching bicycles into the dumpster at high speed to fun to watch. It’s like you’re a machine. You should run scenes like this more often.
We're almost up to 60 degrees ourselves here in Boston today Silas but it'll crash back into the low 30s on Sunday. Enjoy the mild weather in your parts while you can.

@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I just want to say that I love the thumbnail for this video! You are pretty creative and I wonder how you do it? How do you keep track of which cars you own and which cars your Father owns?
The boat is a Kennardley-Tellwatt. I 'cant hardly tell what it is!(corny!)😨 Those heavy x frames are a great find for stripping the fluids and converters, since you have the loader to get them on and off. Good stuff!
Silas did you hear that in the state of Road Ireland if you want to scrap a converter you have to have the title the car came off they are trying to stop theft
Do you save up the aluminum wheels for a couple months then take a big load in? We take them soon we get them only cause we have no property to stock pile stuff. We can't take any tires here to scrap yards. We have to take them to the county dump but only 4 a day

Silas why are you trying to buy a wood stove when I've seen some in the barns and garages you recently cleaned out one of them tall cylindrical type with a chrome round top tat I'll fit perfectly we used the square patio stones on the bottom and that fire board on the walls directly behind the stove scrap more trailers and motor homes and pick pieces you can use to fix your bus make the very back of the bus a nice bedroom and next make a decent bathroom so you can be comfy in it
Someday maybe, one of the people that buy from you will say morgan told me about you Silas and thats why I am here... I know its done all the time but its hard to think cars can be hauled 10 hours or more and still make more money than just selling them close by. Do you pay for the trucking?
I wish I was closer I would save the Tahoe, the rear Barn doors from them go for around $400 a pair here in NY
