About Adventures Made From Scratch: I’m just a regular guy who likes to find adventure in day to day life. Come with me as I take you along for a ride in my world!

Taking a real vacation - without us along - was the smartest thing you could do. Glad you took that critical break. Also, as a fan of your channels, I really have enjoyed your cleaning the yard of so much automotive debris. I'm not a fan or piles of rusting junk, so I really appreciate what you've done for the land as well as yourself.
Glad you got a little vacation you need it every now and than. Another great adventure thanks for sharing.
You had a very Busy few Days and still got those 60 Cars Crushed - that was Spectacular indeed - loving it ! Yes - a Men needs to have some Time off to Recharge those Batteries and Fishing is Brilliant ! How does Cat Fish taste ? Auction coming up - see what You may buy - sounds very Interesting - hope You will film it ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
The House Tear Down video is one of my favorites. I shared it with LOTS of people.👍👍
Wow that was cool to watch Silas, as always you make the neatest content of crushing cars and salvaging old vehicles at your yard!! Great job!!
Thanks for the ride along. Have a great day.
Spring cleaning in late Summer 👍. It's good to be able to make room for more inventory. It doesn't hurt to crush vehicles every chance you get, it'll just be easier on you later. Keep on crushin'.. Stay safe and GOD bless
Easier now than later when it’s below zero outside
I really like this crushing style. It looks like flattening aluminum cans. Great videos.
Cool beans 😎 😊😊😊 that was fun 😊
Awesome video. Always amazed what adventures you get into.
I'm sure someone else has suggested this so I'm sure it's not a new suggestion but I think it would be an awesome investment for you to consider building or having someone else build a big oversized band saw for cutting off noses and trunks. Especially if it would be set up to run and apply constant pressure so you could set it and forget it and go process for the crusher in the meantime until you come back to a sliced off nose or tail or whatever... Just a thought! Keep up the good work!!
It’s Squishin’ Time! Super-Squisher! Super-Squisher! Squish! Squish! Squish!
Watching in two/four time is a blast , but I know its a lot of work for you . Thanks for the video , Till next time , Stuart in Ontario ..
That looked one busy day silas
Great content buddy .
I am one of the few that understands. I don't scrap whole cars, but I stock pile scrap parts from the shop I work at along with I hit up other shops in the area for their scrap. I'll just keep building a mountain of scrap until the prices are worth my time and effort to haul it in.
It was 390 a t9n up here in Ontario Canada in spring....maybe 250 or s9mething American?
Silas, I recently found your channel, and while I save all the cars I found, I really enjoy the split between you saving and crushing yours. Keep it up.
Great Video! Great progress for all the hard work you put into it. Good to see that nice 80’s Dodge Ram sold too.
yahoo first up today from Idaho love these videos.
A scrap yard near me uses crushed cars stacked as fence
What a busy week Silas have a good weekend 👍👍🇦🇺

Awesome video Silas
Good for you!! Balance is good. Family first, great to see you!
Great video really getting the area organized. 👏👏👏👍👍👍
👍👌👏 2) Nearly 80.000 subs. Your channel is growing relatively fast. Congratulations 🎉.
Good night silas & family 😊
2nd canada you go man!
Great video and great job Silas. You’ve come a long way since I first subscribed. It’s a bit counterintuitive with scrap prices dropping while motor fuel is going up in cost. When I was selling scrap I’d hang onto it until fuel prices were at their highest. I don’t know that much about how it all works though
Great job as usual Place is looking good.
My Late Uncle Dave had a Dodge Job Rated pickup truck. What was interesting about those trucks made in the early 50's , was you could change the steering wheel and pedals to the right side of the truck. And the instruments as well. But he sold it to my Uncle Harry and Uncle Harry was scrapper/mechanic and he squished it.
You said you went to Texas for fishing. I'm ridgley from Southeast Texas Port Arthur. Some of the best fishing in the world in the Gulf of Mexico. Where are used to live. Now I live in Wichita and that's the main thing I miss is that fishing. Right now the speckled trout in the drum Reds 22 to 30 in Long. Some of the best fishing in the world is there. That's where you should have went. Beats that catfish. Course they got over 100 lb catfish out there in the Gulf of Mexico if that's what you really want.
AWESOME! MR CRUSHER!
hearing those forks ratling and screeching was cool looks like a happy face on the top of that light
wow that was a lot of crushing, with a little explaining for us to get a small glimpse of the overall goings on! I love to see the lines of old cars when the camera is panning!
I counted 70 cars and mybenefit many 73. But there was a commercial in the middle of it. Congratulations you did even more than what you were thinking he had accomplished🎉🎉
I crushed 70+ cars one day and 60+ cars another day. I don’t remember which was which. Maybe I got them mixed up 😆
Silas is a skidsteer master
You have a lot of interesting vehicles . I'd like to bring my trailer and see if you have something I'd like to bring home . Great video .
Merlin's Old School Garage should have stopped in on his way through Kansas. He drove a Model A from Ohio to Arizona. I think that you two would have had a good time.
You need a super hero costume, cape and mask included, call yourself the Crusher! Your kids would love it. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Peace
Very KOOL Silas
do you pull gear boxes etc for cores? those percision transmission guys use alot of older trans for parts to keep older gear boxes running, some parts you cant get anymore new.
You never cut foundry steel, in Michigan all frames have to be cut to under 24" pieces to get premium prices. I wonder if our scrap has to ship by train so that's necessary, just interesting we also have to cut the fuel tanks out, I think guys were filling gas tanks with drain oil so they do that. It's a lot of labor up here to get worth while prices and that really depends on how much you haul in. Really enjoy your videos and seeing what sells out there compared to northern Michigan.
Awesome job 👍
Wow that's alot of cars !
Awesome video !
15:52. I hope you're not going to crush the Celica and the Pontiac J2000! The Pontiac is a rare car and worth cutting the nose/rear off or selling the singular tail light!
You went to Texarkana? Nice! Right now here near Crockett it’s HOT! We’re under both under a red flag warning and several heat warning! The high here is 104 degrees for crying out loud! I would love for some rain to lift this burn ban.
Great video as always Silas
WOW you were crushing them like tin cans. Outstanding video 👍🏻👍🏻
Love love love the videos. Your a super lucky dude.get 2 play all day long find awesome. I love all the front ends u cut off and sell as art work..i would help you if I lived near you.i would be buying all kinds of stuff 😂.but amazing work!
Jus love watchin your channel Silas !
The press does not discriminate! Feed the green machine!
I really enjoy watching the car crushing. It's very gratifying. I found some other car crushing videos on UA-cam. It's funny, cause I find myself yelling at the videos because some of these guys really struggle just getting vehicles in and out of the crusher! Your experience shines through! Good job! You seem to know that loader pretty well! Keep crushin!
Well deserved vacation. On a daily basis, you can't possibly get much sleep. You are always working..
Sir Silas Smash-a-lot...😎
Yep time to hold off selling scrap prices drop down around me it’s 6 cents a pound we put scrap out on the curb and it been there for two weeks and one driven around to pick stuff up and gas is 4 dollars a gallon now I see why
Ur kicking but today giver hell silas cheers 😊
Good one
you too Mate . GodBless
Everyone needs downtime Silas. Glad you got away and had some good times.
Nice to se you back but don't forget the guys that reached out to you to help you along the way.
💯👌👏 have a fantastic day yourself ❤
hello from Washington state
Just curious, you save all the Aluminum wheels, seems like a lot of additional work. Do you resell them or do they get sent somewhere else for recycling?
Great transition early on. He show the battering-ram car and then you click over to the battery loading. 🤣 Well maybe because it's 1 a.m. and doesn't take much to make me laugh. You could load them batteries on the pallets. And put a chunk of lumber wrapped in sheet metal so it slides easily in between the upper and lower skateboards about the place you would put your forks through. Thataway it would not warp. It's up to you if that's advantageous. As that old saying goes you crushed it man!! Still interested in the truck that we spoke about.
0:20 Seeing that LHS get crushed HURTS...
Well there ya go Silas! You went and flooded the scrap market and drove the price down.🎉
Music sounds like something from a fight scene in Blade-Keep up the good work
Always entertaining
Do you dismount the aluminum wheels? If not what is $ to dismount vs selling with tire?
If there is a 1 hour shredding video, I will watch it with pleasure
Look at it this way, Silas, you spend the time to crush all you want now, then you dont have to arrange to have the crusher back when prices go up.
Silas when you walked by that last pile you were talking about I seen what looked like an 80's model hatchback sunbird I want it there is a mid 90's Ford f150 sitting nest to it
Pontiac 6000
Love the Timelapse crushing!! It would be hilarious with sound effects.😂
Time to start charging your dad a storage fee, maybe payable in crusher days. Though then maybe he'd ship out the crushed ones to avoid that, and start charging you for the crusher. Family businesses can be tricky to change the status quo at, but taking up so much of your space for years on end was a pretty big deal, and seeing it continue just due to scrap price changes, is another pretty big deal.
Glad you got a real vacation in for once Matt. You need that or you will go nuts. How long does it take the crusher to crush 3 cars or trucks at a time? I see you get all of the ones you want to crush as close to the crusher to save steps. Wow that's a huge drop in scrap steel prices $60 a ton. Current scrap car price here in Nevada is $177.10 per ton. Thanks for another interesting video.
I counted 72 cars crushed.
Thanks Silas! 🤠👍
Sounds like you took your fishing trip just in time
I used to work for a trucking company. And they used to buy semi trailer loads of old batteries. I heard that the loads would sell for 30,000 idk if that's true or not.
Feed the beast !
What video did you use the car to take the house down.
Stacking batteries has to be a backing job.
Please do a video of what happens to the crushed cars?
That crusher is worth it's weight in gold.
I know we all missed you
I saw a blue 70's toyota wagon. would it be for sale?
Hey Silas when are you going to do another treasure hunt in your cars?
cool
I was wondering do you come across any old tractor seats? I would like to buy a half a dozen
I don’t have many if any left right now. They sell fast
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch could you keep me in mind and save me a half dozen....l would drive to hutch and pick up!
Isn’t your shop oriented by the rail yard and the prison?salt mine
17:34 mark there is a old 80s Pontiac it’s on top could you show that car?
I liked the truck bed full of metal tractor wheels. When you sell those how much do you usually get?
That style of wheel usually go for $15 each
thanks for a great one
Crushin’ in the name of
Has the crusher been powered up as it seems to be flattening the cars more than usual?
👍 👍
