  • Here is the follow-up to my video on the voting in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest. Just like that contest, Naples 1965 used a bizarre type of scoreboard that was thankfully never revisited, and near-impossible to follow along to. So, here is the voting with numbers.
The presenter in 1965 was Renata Mauro, who spoke fluent English and French as well as Italian - unlike certain other people at a certain later date.

The Spanish jury is one of the oddest moments of the whole Eurovision history.

I didn' t know they were all following the path 1p - 3p - 5p. Even though there was one country giving 3 - 6.. My single point would have gone to Spain that year.

It was not really serious and there was a lot of corruption, I’m afraid.

You’re not a fan of the bar chart scoreboard, are you? I like it myself, it was easy to follow the race, especially for those who struggle with numbers, though a separate numbers counter next to the bar would have made a world of difference. This was probably the closest we got to a reorder board until 2003.

I really like how you've been on youtube all these years, but unfortunatly there is a channel doing such a better job at this.
