Like companies governments will look for ways to cut costs and removing teachers will be an inevitable outcome once AI is good enough. Could also mean AI schooling from home as well. But i think this is still a 5-10 years away..... i hope. I am curious about the need of Education when AI will be doing those jobs anyway?
Companies certainly will, but after alot of thought I think that teachers will be in high demand : the problem is that the nature of teaching will change radically - lots of discussion, lots of time spent working in teams, lots of personal development and cooperation, critical thinking etc - so most peoples idea of education (learning subjects etc) will be passed off to AI systems, but the development of young people, citizenship etc will become the primary focus of teachers, which cannot be replaced.
@@james_nash i think that would be ideal. Looking at the current neglect of the educational system i doubt that will be the outcome. My father worked in education and left at retirement because the neglect and lack of investment got so bad. I feel that we will end up with a factory line educational system at best. The past 20 years schools have been severely neglected and investment in students continues to drop by the government and that theme is set to continue. AI will be the perfect tool to cut more costs. Look at the school closures because buildings are falling apart. The trajectory isn't good. Hopeful im wrong. Love your videos by the way!
@@yakamo I understand exactly what you mean. Ultimately, it is likely there will be a period of relative chaos as schools and orgs are unable to adapt. Parent will increasingly teach at home and in communities. The entire concept of being educated and schooling is going to radically change in the next 5 years as it is currently not fit for purpose, as you rightly point out.
@@james_nash completely agree, its such a complex situation were heading into and no one is prepared for it or even fully aware of what this technology is going to do.
As a father with six children that my wife and I are home-schooling I can tell you, -AI is being used right now for it. Buying a Plus membership to ChatGPT is the best investment possible for homeschoolers. I just had it help me re-learn algebra this morning...
