  • To assess whether this tech will become a mainstay with all keyboard manufacturers, we are going to discuss the DrunkDeer A75 and the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless. Adjustable, mechanical switches are very impressive, and I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to single-point, actuation switches after trying out this tech. This tech is a game changer...pun intended.

      @zergbong many thanks for the kind comments. Very wise move to order the DrunkDeer A75 without keycaps...I didn't and now I have some seriously greased ABS keycaps. Its a good one and you enjoy it. DrunkDeer did a good job with the buffering and pre-lubed switches. Thanks for watching my content and engaging! 👍

    good video, i hope the affordable price of the DrunkDeer A75 will motivate other companies to follow suit.

      @DianaMain, "affordable" is definitely relative to this tech. 😁 So far, the DrunkDeer is the way to go, but I have yet to receive my Wooting 60HE, but it is only about $30 more. I'm going to do a follow-up review on this video after I receive it. Once Logitech and Corsair jump-in, my bet is we'll see the first $300 mass-market, keyboards. 🤯 My hope is the switch manufacturers will develop hot swappable, adjustable mechanical switches as I think this will be the best & most economical way to go this route. Thanks for watching my content and engaging! Really appreciate it. 👍

    I have the drunkdeer A75, I have tested a wooting60he from a friend, I was hesitant for a wooting because I need a function keys. The new Web driver for this Keyboard is as close as a wooting 60HE.

      @xcas9 I just learned about the DrunkDeer web app and hope DrunkDeer markets the web app more broadly. I only learned about the web app after a viewer mentioned it to me. Thanks for watching my content and posting; really appreciate it! 👍

    I have been using an ancient Steelseries Shift keyboard that must be at least 10-15 years old. I spilled a beer on it a couple of days ago and it started doing wonky stuff so I took it apart to see if I could clean it up. I hadn't realized it was just a basic membrane keyboard till then. I looked at the Steelseries Apex but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on my first mechanical keyboard and went with the Logitech K845ch mechanical keyboard with cherry blue switches for my first mech keyboard for $75.00 on amazon. Supposed to show up Sunday looking forward to trying it out. I did get the old Steelseries board cleaned up so it's working again but it should be in a museum. I wonder if Steelseries would take it as a trade in for a new one. 🙂 Thanks for the video. Hmm some of the keys are still kinda sticky on this old thing must not have cleaned all the beer out of it....😄

      @mojoneko8303 that is EPIC! A decade+ old SteelSeries membrane keyboard is definitely well beyond a usual lifespan. Nice to read that it almost had a glorious ending on the gaming battlefield over a pint of beer! The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL is nutty expensive and I am quite certain your Logitech K845CH will be a night-and-day experience. Blue switches are clicky and I love them, but my family members would throw me out of the house if I ever went back to blues. :) Thanks for your fun comment and watching my content!

      The apex wouldn't have been your first mechanical keyboard seeing all magnetic keyboards are inherently non mechanical lmao. They cost that much bcuz they're basically a tier above mechanical. Only downside is that also means they're only linear keyboards bcuz there's no physically contacting actuation point. It being smooth the whole way through the press definitely feels better to me tho but it's hard to argue that it doesn't sound much more boring than a non linear mechanical keyboard as a result.

      @mynusten  7 місяців тому

      @@Frozoken Interesting comment and although the actuation point is not mechanical, the switch is still moving part. I guess from that perspective, you could also call membrane keyboards also mechanical. 😃All the adjustable switch keyboards I've used have very light, linear switches, which take a lot of getting used to. I hope future keyboards come out with linear switches that are stiffer...for work, I like a good 50 to 60 grams. Thanks for watching and engaging! Appreciate it.

    I would honestly buy this keyboard but I wish it came in full size because as a 3D animation student, I use the number-pad quite a bit to enter all kinds of parameters.

      @jorgiewtf thanks for your comment & good luck with your studies! Making the best investment in yourself and even afterwards, find ways to keep learning. Wooting has the Two HE, which is a full-sized keyboard with a numpad and adjustable mechanical switches. I haven't tried it and it's spendy at nearly $200, but this may be one board to research on UA-cam. Appreciate you for watching my content! 👍

      @@mynusten I’ve seen it. The only thing that makes it a no-go is I need it to be wireless but I’ll definitely keep a look out. I’m not in a huge rush.

    Did you try this keyboard with a racing game? Can you make micro adjustments like a controller stick?

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  9 місяців тому +1

      @Leonardo-pi7tr that is a great question and I didn't test either of these keyboards on a racing game. My understanding is the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL should have this later, but I don't believe it is currently available. The only keyboard that I know this "joystick" feature is available on is the Woothing 60HE. I ordered my Wooting a while ago and its on back order. Hoping to receive it by late October or early November. Thanks for watching my content and engaging. 👍

      whoops forgot to specify that i was talking about the DrunkDeer A75... I thought the hall effect switches would have this feature by default but apparently not lol. Maybe in a future software update? (:@@mynusten

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  9 місяців тому +1

      @@Leonardo-pi7tr Yea, this feature wasn't on the DrunkDeer either. That said, I don't think its a hardware limitation; rather software or firmware. My bet is this "joystick" feature will become standard on all adjustable mechanical keyboards.

    Yeah mechanical switches are really game changing. Asus ROG Azoth vs Steelseries Apex PRO it's hard to know who's going to win

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  10 місяців тому

      @mamar21 yea, mechanical is the only way to go for games and typing. Due note, though, these are adjustable switches. Meaning, gamers can adjust the travel distance to set the actuation point...its a real game changer. Thanks for watching my video and commenting! It really helps my channel. 👊

      Any big brand sells by name more than quality.
      I have the Azoth and it's not nearly as good as my Keychron Q3 in latency, key cap quality, build quality, dampening, etc.
      But I wanted a good wireless keyboard with 2.4ghz so that's literally the Azoths usage is to be a wireless keyboard when I need one.

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten  8 місяців тому

      @@ViciousXUSMC I'll have to check out the Keycrhon Q3. Even after using a number of adjustable mechnical switches, I still come back to the Azoth as it works best for me as I live a very busy work life and game in the evening. Once Wooting launches a 75% or TKL, I'll probably migrate to that keyboard. That said, I am certain Asus is working on an updated Azoth with adjustable mechanical switches, too.
