2024 Features Overview -- Asus Armoury Crate Intro for Beginners
In this video, we are going to take a fresh look at the Asus app many of us dread installing on our gaming rigs - Armoury Crate! Armoury Crate does have a bad rep, for sure, but over the past several months, as more and more of my PC gear is Asus designed & manufactured, I’ve come to appreciate the breadth and depth Armoury Crate brings to its PC components. Don’t get me wrong, the UX is tough sledding, and this video is to help gamers better understand how to navigate Armoury Crate. Of course, if you have any questions, please post them in the comments section below.

    I won't bother watching the video in it's entirety your title tells me "Don't bother". I just paused the video before it got to 3 minutes ........ I just have a simple rebuttal going off the "title alone". Don't bother with Corsair or don't bother with anything in the K55 ? Because if hard to press keys, the clacking of a key, or anything that is mechanical pisses someone due to noise and everything related to mechanical keyboards and mice then what do you use ? Now for personal take when it comes to anything related to a PC or Laptop if it makes the hint of noise I can't stand it. So if a user is in that camp then what about zero noise keyboard and mouse. I only use wired peripherals due to a lack of trusting wireless not to fail in the middle of something.

      @davidhudson190 Corsair makes decent keyboards, just not this one. The Corsair K65 Plus is an excellent 75%'er. My daily driver is the Asus ROG Azoth, but I regularly test new keyboards and have two in rotation on my gaming rig. As for productivity, I'm testing a NuPhy and another brand's pre-release keyboard. If you are looking for the quietest keyboard, I would go with Apple's Magic Keyboard if on Mac or the Logitech MX Keys for PC. Both are excellent membrane keyboards. Appreciate the comment! 👍

    Is it better to download Armory Crate for a Gaming Laptop with mid specs or just use Armory Crate Gear?

    • @mynusten

      @Chef_PewPew good question and if you use a laptop only, then Armoury Crate Gear may be a better option. I like Aura Sync, so I use the fully loaded version of Armoury Crate. The fact that Asus published Aurmory Crate Gear means it knows Armoury Crate Fully Loaded is wonky. 🙄

    Is there a way to have armory crate overlay real time fps, temps, mhz while playing games or do i have to use the MSI app?

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten 2 дні тому

      @ponyboy402 as of today, Armoury Crate doesn't have any features that enable overlays, like an FPS counter. MSI Afterburner is a popular app for overclocking & tracking FPS speed & other metrics, but you can also use the FPS counter in Steam. Also, look for in-game options, too, as these usually are best.

    Logitech low profile keyboard are especially interesting for me, because the hight of their chassis is low and their keycaps are nearly flat. Most of other keyboards have more konvex keycaps. Media keys are the only reason I wait for a successor of the 915. Tried the 515 last week in a electronic store and compared it directly to the 915. The typing feeling and keycaps are so much better on the 515. Thats the reason I expect a new version of the 915 soon. Cannot be that their flagship low profile keyboard is so much worse than their cheaper model. I hope the new 915 won't be that expensive, but keyboard prices escalated so much in the las couple of years... Great review!

    • @mynusten

      @GentaFanboy The G915 is an aged keyboard and I'm surprised Logitech still sells it...the G515 keyboard is superior in all aspects. It is nice to see that Logitech is finally releasing decent keyboard, but it has a way to go to catch the competition. As for the big brands, Asus and Corair are eating Logitech up, but maybe Logitech's new CEO will right the ship. Zero media keys I can somewhat undertand at $140, but not to inlcude a volume dial is head scratcher for sure. Thanks for the kind comments! 👍

    This seems to be a very reasonable price for a good update to their G915. I see a lot of complaints about Logitech not using HE switches yet, but I’m not so sure this board needs that, considering the travel distance of each switch is so short. I would like to see them make a HE TKL at some point. Lightspeed tech is really great and I think wireless HE would be great. Glad to see your channel picking up speed.

    Nice review! As noted my oldest just didn't like the Air75 v2 feel or sound nor any of my custom boards because he wanted low profile. Me personally I agree about the rocker but he always uses headphone so he just adjusts the volume on the headset, I guess it's what you get use to. He is very happy with the board and will use it for coding as well. I recently put some Gateron LP 2.0 Banana switches in the NuPhy and they definitely helped the sound and feel! Looking forward to the NOS review, almost ordered one today but they are out of weights it seems.

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten 4 дні тому

      @MarbsMusic as always, many thanks for the kind words! I.m.o., low profile keyboards is the most difficult form factor to master as its really difficult to find the perfect fit. I will say that Logitech has really nailed the elevations and feel for the low profile keyboard. I gamed on the G915 TKL for years, loved it until the gaming keybard wars began and the G515 is a decent (and affordable) successor to the G915. Its going back in the box for now as the Azoth remains my daily driver, but sure something will dethrone it this year. Can't make the swing for the Azoth Extreme, but will watch the price over time. As for the Nos75, boy-oh-boy, I'm really torn on this keyboard. Don't get me wrong, its awesome, but the Nos75 suffers deeply from NuPhy "product substitution" challenges...it's own keyboards at well below 1/2 the price get you 85% of what the Nos75 delivers. The other challenge is its wired and, on my Mac, I prefer 100% wireless. On another note, just took my first guitar lesson last week. This is my latest hobby to keep my brain and dexterity moving...between gaming, content creation and guitar, I'm aiming to keep that noggin' working hard.

    The spacebar of this keyboard has issues. After i took it off, it started to rattle and squeak. I tried to fix that, but then it causes a ticking noise. Do you have any idea how to fix this without taking the whole board apart?

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten 6 днів тому

      @Kolgeographyiscool although there could be several reasons why the Corsair K70 spacebar is rattling, it is most likely due to a loose stabilizer. Stabilizers sit on the left-&-right side of the space bar. It could also be the switch, which is hot swappable, or possibly some crumbs that have lodged in the open areas of the keyboard. I would start hear. I would remove the spacebar switch, disassemble it, check for any debris inside and then reassemble it. Next, I would take a blower to the overall keyboard and make sure any loose debris is blown from the keyboard. If that doesn't fix your spacebar, then its probably a loose stabilizers. Unfortunately, the only way to fix this is to disassemble the Corsair K70, remove the stabilizers, check them out and then reattach them. Do let me know if this fixes the issue.

    • @Kolgeographyiscool
      @Kolgeographyiscool 6 днів тому

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten 6 днів тому

      @@Kolgeographyiscool the keycap wouldn't be the cause of a rattle unless the part that the switch connets to is damaged. That would be unusual. The rattle is most likely due to a loose stabilizer, but this would require opening-up the keyboard. It isn't too challenging and you just have to keep track of all the screws.

    Now have several Logitech keyboards (other brands as well). This has been the best experience of all the Logitech keyboards for productivity use (office, coding, etc.) so far. The slightly scratchy switches are not a selling point, but the keyboard is very good in every other aspect that the slight scratchiness becomes innocuous after a while. The only Logitech wireless TKL keyboard that could be better than this would be an MX Keys "TKL" (does not exist) instead of the MX Keys "Mini". If the MX Keys were made in a true TKL form (with a complete set of modifier keys on the right-side), that would likely be better than this keyboard. Otherwise, the G515 may be the best Logitech wireless TKL for productivity use. Additionally, for a keyboard that is supposed to be a "Gaming" keyboard, it looks very tidy & clean-cut in person. How ever gamers enjoy the gaming aspect of this keyboard, it is a long-term productivity keyboard. It is one of those productivity keyboards that you search for after it has become discontinued.

    • @mynusten
      @mynusten 7 днів тому

      @s-code-b that's a very good point and it is not a bad keyboard to hammer away on through the work day. I haven't had time to game on the G515 yet, but will get a few rounds of Warzone in later this week. Another good alternative for work / productivity keybaords is the NuPhy brand as it comes with excellent switch & keycap options and is fully customizable. Not sure what is happening over at Logitech, but it needs to join the customizable band wagon and get back in the the game. G-Hub needs an overhaul as well. As always, thanks for the input! 👍

    • @s-code-b
      @s-code-b 7 днів тому

      @@mynusten Not likely Logitech will ever open to customizations. The G515 is the most open of their keebs (by far) software-wise. NuPhy boards look good & sound good, but the layouts are limiting. 60% boards are useable, even for productivity, but ought to have all the regular keys in place; it is small enough, no need to exclude keys further. 75% boards are usually cramped: no boundary space between the num-keys & the F-keys above, neither between the Enter-key-column & the nav-keys to the right. Those boundary spaces, horizontal or vertical, serve to guide the fingers, without which unintentional keystrokes are frequently hit. There is the NuPhy Gem80 now, but with regular (tall) keys.

    Great unboxing and looking forward to the full review. As noted my oldest finally switched off his ancient and nasty G915 TKL for this and so far is very happy with it. He didn't like the Air75 v2 we tried and I would say that I like this one better as well. Oddly enough, even though I have some boards costing almost 3 times the price, the Nuphy Halo 75v2 hasn't left my desk since I got it. I did swap the switches for Gateron Baby Kangaroos V2 which give it a little more sound than the lemon but simply loving this keyboard. Of course now I have to wonder about the NOS75 but since he happy for now I'll probably pass on that one... still very curious about it though! Kind of like the Azoth Extreme, went to order then saw then price... ouch.

NuPhy makes so many outstanding and affordable keyboards, the extras the Nos75 brings is really a diminishing returns issue. Also, the Nos75 doesn't have wireless, which is a bummer. I'll get my review of both keyboards up this weekend and really nice to see Logitech back to making decent boards again. The G515 has a specific market for sure and this will be the center aspect of my review. Also going to try a new style for my reviews...shorter and to the point. I think that's the UA-cam trend. Sometimes just turning off the Elgato Keylight for 5 seconds and turning it back on works. Also, check the latest firmware.

    just ordered/got this. was on offer for £35. going from a £4 cheap as you can get keyboard to this is an amazing difference. may not be the best on the market but from bottom of the barrel keyboard to this is night and day. thanks for the review.

    Scope 2 is definitely more value for the money for what you get. I just wish the azoth came with a wrist rest with the price you pay.

      @@scorpiogamer7027 if you have a 75% or smaller keyboard, get the "Compact" size. TKL, get the "Tenkeyless" one. Only buy the "Slim" version if you have a low-profile keyboard. After years of trying out wristwrests, Glorious are the best for the price.
