I suggest buying some merging tape and bury 1 ft above the piping and conduit in case someone is digging and hasn’t seen the map.

don't forget to create and update a map of all your underground infrastructure- for repairs and digging around the place.... maybe install a water holding tank in the event you loose power or low flow in the creek.

Yes, a few IBC tanks will help you keep water on the land. Maybe one on each terrace would be good. I didn’t quite understand why the water in the river isn’t drinkable.

When you store water, you have to care about the quality of it with bacteria 🦠 and so on…

Great job Maya, with your citrus trees, pull all the blossoms off for the first two years. The tree will expend its energy on growing itself and getting stronger, than producing fruit. You will end up with much sturdier trees. It is tempting to have the fruit come through, but in the long run, you will benefit so much more from stronger healthier trees. Good on you and what a great transformation on the land and you 😊

If you decide to store extra water in tanks try to use tanks that are deep in color not clear or white! The darker ones slow any growth that comes from too much sun on the water. I keep about 800 liters (200 gallons +/-) in 4 dark grey tanks for use on my plants. They refill via drains coming from the roof. I add 1 cup of vinegar per 200 liters two times per year when standing (or every time they drain) to keep any growth to a minimum. It works well!
Best of luck with your project.

Found your channel yesterday and ended up watching about 5 videos in a row! Way passed bed time 🤪😊. Thank you so much for sharing. It is a dream of mine and my partner, to do something similar. I actually live in a somewhat similar place to yours, but it's rented. Although we have the permission to do whatever while we're here, it's not quite the same as knowing you'll get to watch it all evolve and making it aligned with yourself! We've actually been hearing a lot about central Portugal recently, yours was one of them. Seems like a great place to live! We're going to check the area out and Gerês National Park to reflect on our options (we're currently in the Algarve). Much to look forward to! Beautiful colours you chose and love your smile, it's contagious! Best of luck and it will be a joy to continue watching your evolution. All the best! Cristina R.

Maya, please buy a 'sledge hammer' and knock those posts with the taps in firmly; a claw hammer simply hasn't got the weight and secondly apart from removing those large rocks your water pipes will never have enough pressure from above to pierce your hose pipes. But a good idea to use sand where there is a vehicle crossing. Your hardworking is paying off and nice to see people helping out.

When you finished something or found out about something, that 10/10 max smile is good. When you are talking about more common stuff, reduce the smile to like 7/10 so it looks more natural and not a production from the UA-cam corp. Just a tip..
