  • This term we launched our new series, Hulme Talks Online, where we connect virtually with alumni from around the world 🌍.
These conversations are broadcast across form groups and during assembly, making them accessible to everyone. 🎉
Our inaugural guest was Sophie Ardern, an alumna and the Director of Production at Mindhouse Productions, a London-based independent television production company. Mindhouse, founded in 2019 by filmmakers Louis Theroux, Arron Fellows, Nancy Strang, and Sophie Ardern, recently won a BAFTA for Best Documentary Series for their show Lockerbie. 🏆
Sophie shared insights from her journey, emphasising that her success is the result of hard work and dedication. 💪 She highlighted the importance of work experience, enthusiasm, and kindness in the television industry. Despite usually working behind the camera, Sophie found appearing on screen this morning "quite weird but lovely!" 📺
In line with her commitment to promoting equality, Sophie ensures that Mindhouse maintains a policy where 50% of its directors are women, addressing the disparity in the industry. 👩‍💼🙏
We are grateful to Sophie for sharing her time with us this morning. Her insights and experiences were truly inspiring for our students. A special thank you to our head students, Maesoon and Darcey, for hosting the online talk 👏.
It was wonderful to see questions submitted by students from Prep, Senior, and Sixth Form. We're thrilled about the Hulme Talks Online series and look forward to featuring more incredible alumni in the future 🚀.
