she's back!!!! and i could not be happier about it x
😘😘
omg ur dog is so cute 😭 I haven't finished the road yet but personally I love it for its simplicity, also the "boringness" just goes to show how depraved their lives are, they're just trying to survive in this barren world, which highlights the dad-son relationship and his love for his son even more, or at least this is how I understood it (I'm only like 40% in so far) but I loved this reading vlog
Still not convinced about the road. 😅 mars says thanks for the lovely compliment.
For dry patches in winter this Canadian highly recommends Weleda Skin Food (the 'light' version). It's a lifesaver for dry and wind burned skin.
I keep a tube of the normal one on my work desk but maybe I need to try the light one.
Lovely vlog :) I always love a little look into a week in your life. I’m super interested in Kala. Happy to hear you’re enjoying it!
This was probably two weeks 🤭 Kala is great.
So incredibly early but yayyyy i love ur vlogs (also i love the long form vlogs even more)
It ended up being longer than I thought but glad you and others seem to enjoy. 💜
So glad to see a new vlog from you 💖
Thanks Rykel 💜😘
always love your vlogs!! great company for me after work. here’s hoping the reading vibes improve for you!!
Fingers crossed.
Love how this went from internet friends to internet nemesis's hahaha. Also just loved the whole vlog full stop, well apart from you being sick obviously and having a year of mid- reads.
I wish the sickness would just proper take me rather than all this teasing.
ooo i’ve seen the cover for kala but hadn’t looked into it yet. sounds so interesting tho, glad you’re enjoying it so far. loved the vlog, it kept me company this morning! ✨
If you’re into Irish lit fic I think you’d like this one. Thanks for watching. 💜
A perfect vlog for my post-work UA-cam binge :) :) :) Also curious to know what you do for work?
Thank you. I’m the social media manager for an online contemporary art magazine and gallery platform. 😊
love how you've made purple your LIFE!!!
need to get to McCarthy! been putting him off for so long because of how popular The Road was. very curious to see what the hype's all about after your review but fear i may bore me to death with what you've said oop
I am that woman 💜💜💜 I have no doubt that you would find some beautiful life lesson in the road if you read it, you’re far more thoughtful than me.
There’s an episode of the podcast Poetry Says about the importance of having a nemesis - it’s the most recent one actually: “writing for revenge”
Ooohhh I’m definitely listening to that. The critics at large podcast talk about how feuds fuel art.
i just finished kala! really enjoyed it
Reading it before bed is kinda scary.
Hello Renee,
Just rediscovered your BookTube channel. Watched again your Newbie Tag - that’s how I know you are a rediscovery… by the way, it’s just delightful. In it you mention that you also like short stories. Me too. Do you have a favorite short story author?
This current vlog is such a captivating creation. I noticed your phone looks fancy, with 3 lenses? Do you make your videos mainly with your phone? I don’t often see this kind of thing on BookTube… can’t wait for your next posting!
I understand that Cormac McCarthy can wear on one. Hopefully you will find your next read more uplifting. If you take on Great Expectations by Dickens, I would suggest you consider having audio alongside in case you need an assist to keep things moving. Chin up dear!
Kind Regards,
~Spike

.
Thanks for the nice message. I really enjoy Raymond Carvers short stories and Shirley Jackson. For something a little more contemporary The Private Lives of Church Ladies is great. I film my vlogs some on my phone and some on a vlog camera.
I MISSED YOU SO MUCH
😘😘
really enjoy yr breakdown of why Abdurraqib's books don't hit you like they do some people (like me!) -- it's perfectly ok for different people to have different relationships to books in any case, but it also makes really good sense in this one
ok, i GUFFAWED when you mentioned going down the drake/kendrick beef rabbit hole
No doubt the man can write but his vulnerability is way too much for me. I can appreciate that still.
I love the internet. 💜
@@r.enee.morris you know him like that
If you need some natural Korean cosmetics, I can recommend some products that will help you sooth your dry skin.
go on, tell it from the mountain
@@lila3372 Feel like I am announcing the second coming of Jesus. 😂 Ginseng cleansing oil from the Beauty of Joseon and all of their serums are very good (I highly recommend rice and snail), Salicylic Acid daily gentle cleansing from Cosrx, Madagascar Centella Ampule by Skin 1004.
Big fan of the cosrx snail mucin and also use their ceramide cream. Salicylic acid is too much for my skin as I am very sensitive. Any tips for a hydrating night serum?
@@r.enee.morris I would say that you try green tea serum from the Beauty of Joseon and Pyunkang Yul moisture serum and moisture calming serum, and also Goodal apple clearing ampule. Not sure whether these products are available in New Zealand, but keep in mind that they can be also a bit pricey.
