Marienburg castle in West Prussia was built by the German Teutonic Knights in 1274. The 14 million eastern German inhabitants were ethnically cleansed from eastern Germany and replaced by Polish 1945-1950

It was a planned evacuation first, later it turned into a massive escape
of people fearing Soviets who were taking revenge on average Germans.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evacuation_of_East_Prussia
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_and_expulsion_of_Germans_%281944%E2%80%9350%29
"The German Empire introduced the idea of ethnicity-based settlement
in an attempt to ensure its territorial integrity. It was also the
first modern European state to propose population transfers as a means
of solving "nationality conflicts", intending the removal of Poles and
Jews from the projected post-World War I "Polish Border Strip" and its
      resettlement with Christian ethnic Germans."
Any attempt to gain this territory would end rather badly for Germany ...
After 3rd world war there will be so few remaining Germans (that`s a pity !), their land will be divided between France and Poland (Elbe river as a border).

OWNERSHIP OF THE KINGDOM OF POLAND FOR 315 YEARS. BOUGHT FOR 190,000 Hungarian florins BY THE POLISH KING, so twice as long as the Teutonic Knights, and then from 1772 Prussians and Germans.

Vi kørte til Malbork og så korsriddernes største borg, som blev sæde for Den Tyske Ridderorden, der kom til at præge historien flere hundrede år frem.
