that last minute hurt really bad to watch, seeing you quick move your infantry into buildings right next to occupied enemy buildings and take a beating over it instead of sending them with hunt or slow
Slow would make them crawl into the next room, the hunt move has issues in close quarters since units will stop and hold position once the enemy is spotted. The mistake I made was not coordinating my advance with suppressing fire. Thanks for the comment!
@@Gav624 I really enjoyed the liberal tunneling you did with the breach teams, very clever way to reduce exposure, it made me rethink about how I use my engineers in combat Mission since I usually just picked them in squad form at the platoon
Well done presentation! Good job on the camera, editing, commanding, and explaining the action. Every good video like this brings more attention to still the best game of it's kind in the genre' . Nothing else has the realism, style of play, and depth of Combat Mission. Worth every penny! ( that's my icon mod being used ;)
Great video! Thx a lot :) Very interesting to see, what is sadly confirmed IRL, that a mission can go well for a long time (zero or few casualties), but when it enters the urban phase, then casualties starts mounting up. I got a few learning points myself. One is that when I'm in a situation like this one, position a tank og support vehicle in "ready position" in front of the wall I'm breaching. The it can start supressing right after the "blow job" :) instead of leaving vulnerable infantryin the open. I was also very surpised to see a single RPG take out a challenger tank??? Don't think that's according to IRL? At least not according to the UK experinces in Iraq....as I understands it. But guess that's one for Battlefront. But very well done! Could be interesting with some tactics talk one day...or maybe even a PvP. Still have my first one to go. Thx.
Thanks for watching! I agree some better prep for the breach with vehicles could have helped. For the challengers I believe it was the tandem RPG rounds that were able to destroy and immobilize the tanks.
Awesome stuff. I just recently picked up the entire bundle again. (My last CPU blew, hard drive blamo) I plan on making a Quick battle H2H map of a Palace, with small town on one side, a village Mosque on the other side.. at least that is the plan thus far. Forums, GhostRider3/3
Urban battles are a bloody grind.
This scenario helped me train for some urban H2H games I'll be posting soon!

at the end
The Commentary makes this video, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent AAR - enjoyed that. And you pronounced Aviemore correctly :)
Thanks!
The Syrian FO was pretty accurate with their Arty coming in. They must have been in a great place.

I agree and it was a tandem warhead which detonates the ERA and has a second warhead to punch through the armor.

I tried some map making myself in this game and it's an awesome tool, thanks for the comment!
Great video!
What mod do you use for explosions?
I use Scipio's explosions. Thanks for watching!
Love this game but the way the infantry run always drives me nuts. So damn slowly and clunky looking lol
That rpg scene. Great for the warrior. Not very nice for the insurgent
Sometimes you get lucky in combat mission, the close calls are always fun!
